Theres Some Messed Up Stuff On This Page!

Hi there![]

FO1 intro Vault Boy

Welcome to the Vault!

Welcome to our Fallout wiki and thank you for your contributions! I hope you'll stay with us and make many more improvements.

A little help to get you started:

  • Recent changes lets you see what other people are editing right this minute and where you can help. You can also check our community portal for things to do.
  • If you haven't already, create a user page about yourself. If you do, we'll be able to know you better as a member of our community.
  • If you have questions, you can ask in our forums, join the live chat in our IRC channel or post a message on my talk page.
  • The help pages can help you learn how to edit and how use the wiki tools. The Vault's policies and guidelines can help you with putting those tools to good use and getting up to speed with our editing customs.

I'm glad to have you here and look forward to working with you!

Lockpick[]

You are not the first to insert this funny speculation in to the Bobblehead-Lockpick page. I removed it as speculation, but please let me know if I have just missed something. Is it mentioned in the game text somewhere? Perhaps in the Guide? If I have removed it in error, please let me know. Otherwise, please refrain from adding speculation (even funny and clever speculation) to articles. Thanks.--Gothemasticator 23:56, January 12, 2010 (UTC)

Oh sorry, just trying to help out, sorry though. I guess speculations aren't okay then...

Yeah, a few things we stay away from in articles are:*speculation.:*decoration and clothing combination advice.:*strategy.:*subjective statements, like, "this is the easiest enemy in the game.":*use of "I had this happen..." or "This editor found..."
  • Vandalism!
By the way, welcome to The Vault. You can follow the links in the welcome message above to begin finding your way around our editing customs. Please do stick around.--Gothemasticator 00:16, January 13, 2010 (UTC)

Notable Loot[]

The guidelines on what is considered "notable" loot: List unique and rare loot here with a short description of where to find it. This includes bobbleheads, skillbooks, unique weapons and armor, schematics, Mini Nukes, Stealth Boys, quest items (including Pre-War Books and Brotherhood of Steel Holotags) and any holodisks or notes." This is from The_Vault:Fallout_3_locations_project.--Gothemasticator 00:29, January 13, 2010 (UTC)

So, should I include glitches such as escaping maps and the such?

For location bugs and glitches, check out the project page linked above (I made it a link now). In general, only bugs specific and unique to the subject of the article should be included. For instance, if a quest is bugged, you don't list that bug on the article pages of every NPC involved in the quest. Hope that is somewhat helpful.--Gothemasticator 05:54, January 13, 2010 (UTC)

Discussion Page Etiquette[]

Do not insult people on talk pages. Do not respond to several month old posts on talk pages just to belittle the poster. Do not insult an editor in the edit summary box when you make a correction. I am blocking you for one day. Please come back with some better manners.--Gothemasticator 06:11, January 14, 2010 (UTC)

Yeah, sorry about that. I'll try not to let this happen again in the future. AreYouGoingToEatThatNuke? 08:11, January 14, 2010 (UTC)

Thanks.--Gothemasticator 09:44, January 14, 2010 (UTC)

What kind of Windows compy should I get (Windows 7, Vista | Desktop, Laptop) and computer cards should I get?[]

Im hoping someone could give me some tips on what kind of computer and graphic cards I should get, so I can mod and stuffz :). Someone take the time to respond? PLEZ PLEZ PLEZ?AreYouGoingToEatThatNuke? 16:12, January 20, 2010 (UTC)

I'm currently running a AMD Phenom II x4 965 Black Edition (3.4Ghz) paired with an ATi 4870 1GB graphic card. My mainboard is a GIGABYTE with 8GB RAM and it is running Windows 7 x64 Professional. Fallout 3 performs flawlessly on the machine. I've always been partial to AMD and ATi but if you have the money to get an I7 or better, go for it.--Kingclyde 10:52, January 21, 2010 (UTC)
Hey thanks! How much did it cost? I've saved up around 500 dollars.AreYouGoingToEatThatNuke? 10:55, January 21, 2010 (UTC)

Nail Board[]

The Board of Education is just a unique nail board, there's no reference of it being used to torture people.

Besides Super Mutants either kill people and eat them or change them into one of their own. Annonnimus 09:31, January 21, 2010 (UTC)

Ok then... AreYouGoingToEatThatNuke? 09:34, January 21, 2010 (UTC)

Weapons[]

In each of the descriptions, I have noticed that you are adding sometimes trivial sometimes not information. Much of which is not needed and tends to clutter the articles. Please refer to the The Vault:Policies and guidelines for further guidelines on article format and the other nuances. Thank you for your edits and I hope to continue to see your edits here in The Vault. --Kingclyde 10:41, January 21, 2010 (UTC)

Extra Spaces in Edits[]

I notice a lot of your edits introduce several empty lines. See, for instance, your recent talk page for Vault 87 Supermutant. When you make edits, please look at the result to make sure this does not happen. You can possibly avoid it happening by always clicking the "Source" button before making your edit. That way you are using the wiki text editor instead of the rich text editor.--Gothemasticator 21:25, January 22, 2010 (UTC)

FIRST COMMENT!!![]

Comments like that will be deleted. Nitty Tok. 22:03, January 22, 2010 (UTC)

Ohh, sorry. Just kinda enthusiastic. But okay, I'll stray from doing this. AreYouGoingToEatThatNuke? 22:05, January 22, 2010 (UTC)

See, you're already a better editor!

Use the Template:Delete template to mark a page for deletion. Nitty Tok. 23:58, January 22, 2010 (UTC)

Wow, thats good coming from a Admin... :D thanks... good to know im doing a good job. ObeseCheese ツ☢ 23:59, January 22, 2010 (UTC)
Sure. But I'd switch your signature back to having a link to your page, I'm too lazy to search-bar that long name. Nitty Tok. 00:00, January 23, 2010 (UTC)
Oh okay. ObeseCheese ツ☢ 00:05, January 23, 2010 (UTC)

Saying how many edits youve done...[]

How exactly do I make it so I can say how many edits i've done with a constantly changing variable... CheezeWEEPツ 22:34, January 30, 2010 (UTC)

Welcoming new editors[]

Hello there. The welcoming of new editors is usually done by admins but if you wish to do so, please use the template that we used to welcome you. It contains all of the needed links to policy and help sections that a new editor would need. Thanks. --Kingclyde 01:15, February 1, 2010 (UTC)

Oh, it was more of a personal-made welcome than an official welcome, but okay then. CheezeWEEPツ 01:24, February 1, 2010 (UTC)

Hello[]

Hey, what's up Nuke. It's Ace McTurbo, thanks for the welcome. I'm stilll learning the ropes of Wikia so I'll contact you for any help. I'm currently trying to build my user page for this site, so I look at user pages such as Chipgambino's or yours to base it off of that. I'm currently tryign to get pictures of my Fallout character onto here (No, I don't play on PC, I play on PS3). So it'll be pretty hard without any capture card, but I do have a camera. I do love Fallout 3 so I'll be contributing to the site sometime soon when I learn how to use Wikia.

Thats great! By the way, sign your post's with 4 ~'s or the signature button. Anyways, thats cool, I play on the PS3 also. Pictures are really hard to get, I usually edit the ones on the Wikia already and enhance them. CheezeWEEPツ 17:29, February 1, 2010 (UTC)

Greetings[]

I will breed some special nuclear sheep for you to bite. Sheepbiter 11:27, February 2, 2010 (UTC)

Oh mah gawd om nom nom! CheezeWEEPツ 14:38, February 2, 2010 (UTC)

Background color for user page?[]

Is it possible AT ALL to have a color background for a user page? I doubt it, since most other people would have them. But please tell me if I can! CheezeWEEPツ 16:01, February 3, 2010 (UTC)

World objects[]

Sure, why not. Ausir(talk) 00:53, February 4, 2010 (UTC)

Okay, thanks. CheezeWEEPツ 00:54, February 4, 2010 (UTC)

Some guidelines:

  • For adding new articles, please use The Vault:Create article/Fallout 3, which will preload all the necessary categories etc.
  • Do not put the first paragraph under a header, especially one titled the same as the article title.
  • Always put the proper category in the article if it's not there already (e.g. [[Category:Fallout 3 world objects]]).
  • Do not put more than one empty line between paragraphs/headers
  • Put game titles (e.g. Fallout 3 in italics).

Thanks! Ausir(talk) 01:31, February 4, 2010 (UTC)

Do not put the article's name in place of PAGENAME. {{PAGENAME}} automatically inserts the name of the article in question. Ausir(talk) 15:25, February 4, 2010 (UTC)
Oh sorry, I didn't know. CheezeWEEPツ 15:27, February 4, 2010 (UTC)

World Object Articles Needed?[]

What World Object articles are needed? I have a lot of free time to do most of this stuff, so go and list some. By the way, good job, Porter, getting those pictures in. Keep up the good work, and we can get in all of the World Objects! Thanks. CheezeWEEPツ 12:42, February 4, 2010 (UTC)

Hey Porter, How Did You...[]

I use the G.E.C.K. for creating these images. You can preview every item, object etc there - then it's only a matter of taking a screenshot, cutting it to size with an image editing program and setting the background to transparent. -- Porter21 (talk) 14:12, February 4, 2010 (UTC)

Thats really interesting! This is one of the many reasons why I want to get a computer. Thanks. CheezeWEEPツ 14:57, February 4, 2010 (UTC)

Fallout 3 World Object Pages[]

Im happy to say that so far I have created eleven world object pages. Im glad to be contributing so much to The Vault. CheezeWEEPツ 18:31, February 4, 2010 (UTC)

You know that thing MikaelGrizzly has on his talk page?[]

The picture that links to the leave a message thing? I kinda wanted to learn how to do that. If anybody can tell me how that would be great! Thanks! CheezeWEEPツ 13:22, February 5, 2010 (UTC)

Talk page[]

Instead of deleting, best to move old discussion to an archive page, like User:AreYouGoingToEatThatNuke?/Archive 1. Ausir(talk) 17:29, February 5, 2010 (UTC)
