Trinity[edit source]

It was mentioned that it was some sort of computer security. I forgot who said it, and which Railroad quest it was mentioned in.--Ant2242 (talk) 02:22, 8 April 2016 (UTC)

CPG[edit source]

I understand where you are coming from, but proper English conventions demand that acronyms be spelled out fully before their use. Since The Vault is an encyclopedia, I have reverted your move. GarouxBloodline 18:26, 10 April 2016 (UTC)

There is no need to be sorry - I only know about that particular convention, because of a rather embarrassing lesson that was taught to me back before I graduated.
Btw... it is really great seeing another active editor pop up - we definitely need the help. Hope you stick around with us. :) GarouxBloodline 03:42, 11 April 2016 (UTC)

10mm Pistol[edit source]

Well then, tell me why. Don't just undo it. I've been putting recommendations on the weapons pages all along, so I'm not sure what's different about this one. --Trifler500 (talk) 05:13, 11 April 2016 (UTC)

Flag template and other stuff[edit source]

Hey, I like what you're doing with the flag template, and your high levels of activity. No complaints, just wanted to say good job! It's nice to see a new user with your kind of initiative. :) --Kastera (talk) 03:47, 17 April 2016 (UTC)

Image cats[edit source]

Why are you removing those categories? I am not challenging you - I am genuinely curious as to the reason. If I should stop adding those cats, then I will. GarouxBloodline 19:05, 30 April 2016 (UTC)

For consistency purposes, you are right that cats such as 'consumables images' should be created and utilized, if they have not already. And I get where you are coming from - under normal circumstances, it would be weird to have a bunch of images mixed in with categorized article links; however, what I am looking at, is that when an image is categorized, a gallery section is automatically created for each respective cat, separating the image files, from the article links.
I will leave this one up to you, though, and your personal judgment. It really would not bother me, either way, so I will amend my image categorizing on your next reply. Happy editing! GarouxBloodline 23:41, 30 April 2016 (UTC)

Keys and new separation of items format?[edit source]

{{Dot}} vs. {{dot}}[edit source]

Just curious: Why did you do this? The template's spelled with a major "D"… -- UserCCCSig.png -- You like to talk to me? -- cCContributions -- 13:59, 10 May 2016 (UTC)

Personally I prefer lower cases for templates. The markups at the bottom when editing mostly use non-capitalized spellings, too.
The template's history is interesting, as it was called {{·}} before.
The lower case example, I think, was copied from the original at Wikipedia – and overlooked when changing the name.
I wouldn't have spent time on this, but that was yours. ;o)
Another thing: why do you replace {{Pagename nd}} with the pages' names in plain text? (I've undone one of those edits.) -- UserCCCSig.png -- You like to talk to me? -- cCContributions -- 12:28, 11 May 2016 (UTC)

Re: Reddit[edit source]

Thanks... I guess? I can't take any of the credit; Tagaziel created the article and just asked me to post it on reddit for him. Still, it's good to have The Vault on the front page of a major subreddit. If nothing else, at least we're getting an increase in traffic. :D --Kastera (talk) 05:00, 12 May 2016 (UTC)

Re: Pagename[edit source]

I know that in certain cases it's useful to replace the template – in order to achieve a certain format or, as you said, flexibility with the initial paragraph for an article. But where that is not needed, it is better to leave the template. (I don't know who else changes this regularly. And I will not going into research about that! ;)
I know what you mean when saying, the template appears mostly on pages that don't have much content other then that from page creation. I perhaps should put this on my to-regard-list: when editing a page, look for the usage of "Pagename nd". Because what I notice is that there are many articles that don't show the proper page name – because this template has been replaced, and later the page was moved. Which is one of the template's purposes, to avoid such things.
I don't see this as a unifying process of formatting. Leave it where it doesn't interfere with the initial paragraph's wording and formatting.
Unfortunately neither the template doc nor the editing guidelines mention this template and its usefulness at all. So you either have to have it in your mind when creating/expanding/rewording an article or have to use the creation templates – which in most times is not the way, I create articles.

And now let's see how this new PRO badge works with my custom signature… ;) -- UserCCCSig.png -- You like to talk to me? -- cCContributions -- 13:28, 12 May 2016 (UTC)

It doesn't. -- CompleCCity (talk) 13:30, 12 May 2016 (UTC)

Water fountains[edit source]

Hey Brant, I noticed in [this edit, you noted that bottles filled at a water fountain would make purified water; however, I filled a bottle at a water fountain in the BADTFL regional office today and it made a dirty water instead. Is it possible that you were confused when you made this edit? --Kastera (talk) 22:50, 18 May 2016 (UTC)

Terminology[edit source]

While add-on is more formal, the term used in common parlance is DLC. It's also gooder from a SEO perspective, which is very important to us. I'd move the rest of the pages, but I'm currently busy with another wiki. No rest for the wicked, I'm afraid. Tagaziel (talk) 12:32, 2 June 2016 (UTC)

Tech, tech, tech![edit source]

Sure, I'll be glad to share! Send me an e-mail through the wiki's software and we'll get started. You'll like it :) Tagaziel (talk) 19:41, 28 July 2016 (UTC)

Semi-automatic vs. Lever-action[edit source]

If you have to work the action between shots, it is not a semi-auto. That's why revolvers, bolt-action, and pump-action are not semi-autos, even though they hold more than one round at a time. Anyone who knows guns knows this. --Trifler500 (talk) 06:17, 29 July 2016 (UTC)

Brotherhood Aspirant[edit source]

Huh? How can you say it isn't used as a rank? All of the forums and the other Fallout 4 wikis say it's a rank. It's certainly used as a title, which also warrants capitalization. --Trifler500 (talk) 04:58, 2 August 2016 (UTC)

Dialogue files[edit source]

Thank you for the needed pages! Going forward, could you please re-add the quotation marks as they were originally in the file? Without them within the file as they were they are not correct.--Ant2242 (talk) 00:55, 4 August 2016 (UTC)

Good! I have been having the same problem. If I might offer one bit of advice; Don't. Trust. Bots. Assuming that a machine did the work correctly without review leads to broken pages.
Also If you have all the dialogue files could you please review Hancock's? I don't know what happened for it to have that... mess of text above the table.--Ant2242 (talk) 01:31, 4 August 2016 (UTC)
Any and all programs used to robotically make edits on pages or create them from scratch.--Ant2242 (talk) 01:48, 4 August 2016 (UTC)
Thank you! I tried to do that with my older Excel. Do you think that is what caused the problem?--Ant2242 (talk) 02:07, 4 August 2016 (UTC)
How should I send you my email? Through Facebook private message?--Ant2242 (talk) 01:00, 5 August 2016 (UTC)

Images[edit source]

Nifskope, forgot to answer. Also, want an invite to the super secret elite editors club? Tagaziel (talk) 08:48, 6 August 2016 (UTC)

I use the Copy Branch option (on the top level collapsible menu in the thingamajig that shows you all the mesh elements when you click on them) to kitbash. :) Tagaziel (talk) 08:34, 7 August 2016 (UTC)

FOS saves[edit source]

Thank you for the app. It however didn't work. It appears to only have backed up the new save.--Ant2242 (talk) 23:54, 30 September 2016 (UTC)

Idle dialogue of Fallout 4[edit source]

The other day a thought had occurred to me; Are the idle lines of the companions location biased? and I was wondering if you would know.--Ant2242 (talk) 03:04, 16 October 2016 (UTC)

Thank you, I suspected that those lines under "Idle" were location biased. The reason I ask is because if there is a category to them I believe we should treat them similarly to the specific locations lines.--Ant2242 (talk) 22:37, 16 October 2016 (UTC)

Opinion[edit source]

The Mysterious Disappearing Spuds

I would like your opinion on the FOS quest page format I'm working on. Other than images and maybe "time" and "requirements" to the infobox, I'm not sure what else to add.--Ant2242 (talk) 23:32, 12 November 2016 (UTC)

There already is a parameter for location, the problem is how to fill it. "Random wasteland location"? Also I have FOS on my phone, so things like dialogue files are something that I cannot get.--Ant2242 (talk) 03:59, 13 November 2016 (UTC)

Gibbons of Far Harbor[edit source]

What do you think about the Gibbons family in Far Harbor? I cannot quite grasp what the environment portrays. Do you think Nelson killed them all for the insurance money? There is a skeleton in a rowboat, a duffle bag full of cash, and explosives boxes. Is there a way to contact Bethesda about it? Also should the Gibbons get their own page as a family or should all the detail go on the coming page "Greater Cranberry Island"?--Ant2242 (talk) 00:44, 25 November 2016 (UTC)

I don't have a twitter account, so I asked on their Fallout Lore forum.
I was wondering, could you add the dialogue pages for the announcers of the World of Refreshment and Vault-Tec: Beyond the Stars?--Ant2242 (talk) 04:26, 26 November 2016 (UTC)
Thank you! I was finally able to reference the latter and clean up several pages. ...Oh I also asked Reddit.--Ant2242 (talk) 04:23, 27 November 2016 (UTC)
Unfortunately both places seems to be a bust. I was wondering, could you please add the dialogue file for the Separated family radio signal?--Ant2242 (talk) 18:34, 29 November 2016 (UTC)
Thank you! Believe me, I can relate!--Ant2242 (talk) 18:10, 7 December 2016 (UTC)

Find the Silver Shroud[edit source]

Are you sure about the transcript change? Are there two versions? I could swear that It was correct before.--Ant2242 (talk) 04:40, 10 December 2016 (UTC) Oops, my bad. Wrong person. nvm.--Ant2242 (talk) 04:41, 10 December 2016 (UTC)

Fallout world and Fallout setting[edit source]

I was wondering, what's your take on the difference between the "Fallout world" and "Fallout setting" articles?--Ant2242 (talk) 15:53, 1 July 2018 (UTC)

Games vs Game Years[edit source]

Hey, I'm happy to help! Regarding putting the games that the characters are in instead of the game years, I saw Tagaziel doing that to some Fallout 2 articles some months back and I thought that that was now the preferred way. To me, it makes more sense to put the game names because the games take place over the course of a year or so, meaning that it could be 2241 or 2242. To put 2241 would, in my opinion, declare when the Chosen One did a certain event/met a certain person when we in many cases don't know in which year he did. I will, however, no longer change the years to the respective games. Vader0629 (talk) 00:32, 17 July 2018 (UTC)
