Small bullet(s)[edit source]

Itachou, can you tell me if the Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel hunting rifle ammunition is Small bullets or Small bullet (singular). It was original small bullets and I changed it to small bullet, but now I'm not so sure anymore. You have played the game, so I thought you would know it. JspoelJspoel Vault Boy.png 22:53, July 10, 2011 (UTC)

  • Thanks, my friend. I'll make it small bullet then.
  • I'll take a look tomorrow. Interested to see what you will make of it. (Your Dutch is improving by the day ;) JspoelJspoel Vault Boy.png 23:44, July 10, 2011 (UTC)

Our edits[edit source]

Hey, sorry if I sounded obnoxious or hostile, it wasn't my intention. Like you, I first and foremost care about the Vault's quality and integrity. I wouldn't have pressed my point so hard otherwise. I guess it's just something that happens when two people that care collide :) Regards and take care, friend. http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/fallout/images/0/08/Personal_Sig_Image.gif Tagaziel (call!) 10:55, July 11, 2011 (UTC)

Mad Scientist Scrubs[edit source]

I noticed that you changed the name again to Mad scientist scrubs. No-one is listening to me and I hoped that you would. This is straight from the website:

  • Key Features:
    • New Terrain
    • Explore the expanse of the ‘Big Empty’ and its huge variety of research centers, arboretums, canyons, and scientific labs. Even better, find and upgrade your own home base, the Sink, within the Big Empty's central dome!
    • New Enemies
    • Confront the surgically-altered Lobotomites, bizarre robot scorpions, the dead occupants of the Y-17 Trauma Harnesses as well as the terrifying disembodied brain, Dr. Mobius. Look out for other strange and terrifying creations of the Think Tank!
    • New Perks and Weapons
    • Old World Blues increases the level cap by 5 and introduces a range of new weapons including the Sonic Emitter, K9000 Cyberdog Gun, Proton Axe, and several varieties of Mad Scientist Gloves such as the Sterilizer Glove and Corrosive Fist.
    • You’ll also find new armors such as the Sneak Suit and Mad Scientist Scrubs to make your life in the Mojave easier. Look out for implants that can switch your body parts in and out for new effects and defenses to aid you in the Big Empty and the Mojave wasteland!

Could you tell me why it is contantly changed? As a side not Xa3 gave me this information :). I know I can rely on you for a good reason :). Hope you're having a good day and I will speak to you shortly. TheGuardianCalligraphy.pngGuardianoftheWastesTag.png :).

I knew you would help, and cheerfully as always :). That makes much more sense then I suppose. I didn't want to start an edit war or anything like that, and no-one answer on the talk page, so I thought I would ask you. Thanks Itachou, have a nice evening if I don't see you too :) TheGuardianCalligraphy.pngGuardianoftheWastesTag.png 17:36, July 11, 2011 (UTC).

Thanks, Itachou. Pleasure as always :). TheGuardianCalligraphy.pngGuardianoftheWastesTag.png

Templates[edit source]

I need to add a notable persons section to them both, it's a very good section in my opinion. No offence intended, but I would like to do it to learn, but I can't find them :). Unless it's only admins that can do it... You guys get such great tools. Thanks for the intervention too, TheGuardianCalligraphy.pngGuardianoftheWastesTag.png :)

I see now my messge was not entirely clear. Could you direct me toward the templates so that I can edit them? It was entirely my fault that the above message was not clear, my apologies for that :). TheGuardianCalligraphy.pngGuardianoftheWastesTag.png
Oh, apologies again. I saw several of the pages. They are very good indeed. Your English is of a standard which will soon be good enough for you to be considered bilingual :). I could still do you a favour and proof read them if you would like? Speak shortly, TheGuardianCalligraphy.pngGuardianoftheWastesTag.png.
I added to the template, but it does not appear anywhere. I too am very tired, so I'll endeavour to do it tomorrow. I fear I'll need more help though. See you tomorrow, and kind regards TheGuardianCalligraphy.pngGuardianoftheWastesTag.png.

Proof reading[edit source]

Not a single mistake that I have seen ;). See what I mean, you'll be a pro in no time, and you're already better than many people who, somewhat shamefully, are British. Terrific! Good night Itachou :). TheGuardianCalligraphy.pngGuardianoftheWastesTag.png

Yes please! I was about to add a page now. That would be excellent thank you :). TheGuardianCalligraphy.pngGuardianoftheWastesTag.png

Quotes[edit source]

Just a quick one, I know the limit is 5. But there is a simply solution for rare cases where more than 5 would be better, I implemented on the Liberty Prime page if you wish to have a look. I simply added all the quotes for Liberty Prime, then put them on a 5 set rotation that readers can refresh if the so desire. This way you can include more, but still retain the layout of only 5. Just something you might want to consider for other pages. User:AvatarUser talk:Avatar 21:55, July 11, 2011 (UTC)

Night Vision Goggles[edit source]

Night Vision goggles are in fact in the trailer, for a split second at 0:53 you see them on the character. -Red Sniper

There is a list of voice actors and characters that have no articles in a piece of news, so I decided to make articles for them. :) Almighty Higgey

The locations infobox[edit source]

I've changed the template, but when I create a new page and insert it, I cannot see my addition. I think this is beside the point anyway, as I don't think this is the template. I don't think I can explain it properly for you, so I have uploaded a diagram to my sandbox for you. Happy hunting until I talk to you again :) TheGuardianCalligraphy.pngGuardianoftheWastesTag.png. :P.S, I don't think I can explain what I am trying to do, that is :)

No, did you look at my diagram :)?
I want to add a section to the template for creating a page when you click the 'location' part (fig. 1) to produce the template for making the page in fig.2 with an added section for Notable characters without having to type it myself each time. Fig. stands for figure by the by. Thanks for your patience Itachou.
Well thanks for all your help anyhow. I took the picture off as it was clogging up your page. Good luck with your house move. I don't suppose I'll talk to you for a while if you are moving house, but I hope I do :). See you later Itachou, TheGuardianCalligraphy.pngGuardianoftheWastesTag.png.

Ulysses, Harold[edit source]

Itachou, I'm planning to rename Harold to Harold (tree), so I can create a disambiguation page. Is that ok with you? And I noticed an appearances section on the FO1 quest pages. Is that supposed to stay there? It's not in the quest guidelines layout. And can you upload a new image for Ulysses? It's not showing for me, I'm getting a x-mark. JspoelJspoel Vault Boy.png 14:15, July 13, 2011 (UTC)

  • Or Harold (FEV mutant). He has not always been a tree.
  • To be honest, I didn't know they were separated into two characters. Always thought it was just Harold. Bob is new for me. Can you give me a suggestion to rename Harold? I'd like to make a disambiguation page for that name. JspoelJspoel Vault Boy.png 16:20, July 13, 2011 (UTC)
  • Allright, sounds good to me, thanks.

Response to 'timeline'[edit source]

I'm just editing as I find them on the wiki, so it will be some time before I find all the events or births of every character in fallout 3 and subsequently fallout new vegas.

Very well, I will use some post it notes on my mac, but until another issue comes up, talk with Porter, he is the one that has set up the protection edits on their, so he is probably the one that started the timeline.
Besides, the achievements are really just a very minute bonus to me, my own personal goal is for the vault to have as much detail as possible. Boosting was certainly not my intention. —Preceding unsigned comment was added by Chief editor 13 (talkcontribs). Please sign your posts with ~~~~!

Roger Maxson-timeline issue[edit source]

I was looking at Roger maxsons pager and it said Colonel Robert spindel Committed two days after making the discovery of the FEV virus experiments but on the timeline it says he commited suicide 5 days later. Can you or someone check this?

Hey, man. I heard you could help with filling in the tables on the Radscorpion (Fallout) page. They've been empty for a while, and only recently a new user informed me. User page[edit source]

I'm sure you'll get sick of me soon, but what do you think of my User/talk pages? I'd like to know someone elses opinion, and who better than you :)? Don't feel you have to though. TheGuardianCalligraphy.pngGuardianoftheWastesTag.png P.S. I was going for an eerie look :) TheGuardianCalligraphy.pngGuardianoftheWastesTag.png

Oh, so that's what you meant by packing the other day. Somewhere nice I hope? You're dedicated, that's for sure ;). See you soon, TheGuardianCalligraphy.pngGuardianoftheWastesTag.png.
Wow! That place is beautiful. It looks like something straight out of a fairy tale. It's just incredible... Are there modern suburbs though? That would ruin the place a bit. Or is it protected by planning laws like this place: Chilham. I'm really sorry, but I didn't understand your last question: could you rephrase it or write it in French or something for me :)? And yes I was aware of that ;). We had to fight very hard to defend it as a duchy, too, but that was a poor strategic choice because neither Brittany nor Burgundy would help us when we needed them to, even though they were happy to receive it. If I'm honest, I'm glad France got them in the end: our strength lies/lay in the fact we are on an island, and that's the key reason we could stay out of Europe when necessary. France was far too strong anyway, and we were still a miniscule power. TheGuardianCalligraphy.pngGuardianoftheWastesTag.png.

I must disagree with you. Your nation was not much bigger, so in comparison to France we were perhaps not miniscule, but in comparion to Castille or the Holy Roman Empire, we were certainly not a great power. Even the Hanseatic League was more powerful than us in some respects. And it seems hardly fair to thank me for my countrymen's efforts; we do the same every Armistice Day. It is a nice thought though, and proves that we can easily move on from the flimsy politics of the past, especially with the right motivation :).
As for Auxerre I shall have to add it to my book. This is a sort of collection of things I want to see and do, and I'm very grateful that you happened to show me it :). Lastly, the school holidays do begin soon, in fact next Friday, but we return in early September, not August. Some schools however have a half-day every Saturday and they can finish as early as May.
I doubt you'll get this tonight, I'm of to bed myself, but I will be here again tomorrow. Until then, TheGuardianCalligraphy.pngGuardianoftheWastesTag.png.
Whilst I think of it, we rename Armistice Day, Rememberance Day: This will give you more specific information :).

Thanks for deleting that page. However, the gentleman that made the page put it in the main space by accident, he actually meant to put it in the forums. I'm not sure if I can agree with you on the K9000 looking vaguely like a dog's head, friend. Anyway, such details are so incredibly subjective, so I don't really think we should have it in the article. Hugs Scar: "Say 'ello to my little friend!" 17:44, July 18, 2011 (UTC)

Radroaches in Vault 101[edit source]

  • I don't recall it being stated anywhere that there were defects in the vault's construction that would allow radroaches in.
  • Cockroaches are notoriously difficult to get rid of, so it stands to reason that radroaches would be the same way.

Since we can't be certain how they got in, considering there are more than one possible way, we shouldn't add speculation to the article to explain how they got in. --Kris User Hola.jpg 00:18, July 19, 2011 (UTC)

Enclave Overview[edit source]

Hello,

The reason I have been removing the line concerning the Enclave's constitutional legitimacy is because its imformation that has been nowhere implied or stated in either a game or any other source. Its basically speculation and the wiki should avoid it as such, see the talk page, there are others who agree with me. There are many reasons why the Enclave indeed may be the legitimate government, the bible states that the President of the United States went to the Oil Rig when the Great War occured as just an example.

No, you're right, being a child of a president doesn't make you the next one, but the Enclave is more than that, the Enclave is a direct relation to the United States government and likely is the United States Government and has never stopped being it. When a President dies or is incapaciated while in office, the next individual within the presidential line of succession assumes control. This is effectively what has happened within the Enclave and when the President fled to the Oil Rig. The Enclave then, isn't simply children of Government officials.

Besides, given the nature of the Government before the war, it fits right in with what the Enclave is now. There is little reason to doubt they are who they say they are. Until hard evidence disproves them, them simply being the "bad guys" doesn't mean that they aren't the Government. Outcast77 01:35, July 20, 2011 (UTC)

I don't recall anything ever saying that the Enclave had no consitutional legitimacy. The statement is pure speculation, nothing more. The President of the United States (not the President of the "Enclave")went to the Oil Rig, I see little need for more evidence than that. Those former United States citizens who survived the Great war are no longer citizens of the U.S., given that they have now become members of the NCR, Brotherhood or what have you. America was not destroyed, it survived in the form of the Enclave on the Oil Rig, who recieved their constitutional authority by viture of being members of the government.
You say that the Enclave violates the constitution by ignoring the Bill of Rights and other amendments. Well those don't apply to wastelanders, the same as they don't apply to non-citizens. In any case, the pre-war United States government (I'm assuming you accept that that is the United States) did even worse things (experiments at Mariposa and the creation of FEV) so the status of the constitution is in doubt for sure. Given that the United States was reducded to 13th commonweaths, we really don't know what the consititution consisted of pre-war or post-war.
The line is frankly, biased against the Enclave, and there is absolutely no hard evidence to back it up. The wiki lately, has become more and more subjective and this line is just such an example. We can't prove what the Enclave says is wrong, (regardless of their actions) and so the line shouldn't be there. The overview is fine without it and simply states facts. If I may, perhaps the line should read "The Enclave claim to be the legitimate United States government" and then leave it at that. That is objective and is simply stating what the Enclave believe. Saying however, "the Enclave claim to be the legitimate government but certainly aren't" (when there is no hard evidence to support this), is not conducive to a responsible and well-written article. I stand by my assertion and will continue to do so. I will also message the author of the quote if he changes it, but I really don't believe that should be necessary. The wiki allows contributions freely and should remain un-tainted by speculation which is biased against the subject matter it is presenting. Outcast77 02:25, July 20, 2011 (UTC)

K9000[edit source]

It is a Cyberdog. Mobility has nothing to do with that - it's still a brain connected to a machine, therefore a cyborg. Said brain is a canine one. Hence, cyberdog. It's also, uh, named like that. And behaves like a dog. http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/fallout/images/0/08/Personal_Sig_Image.gif Tagaziel (call!) 21:28, July 20, 2011 (UTC)

Not really. It isn't said anywhere that a cyberdog needs to resemble a dog at all. Hell, the Think Tank is just Brains In A Jar and yet they still qualify as cyborgs. Also, if it wasn't a cyberdog, it wouldn't be called K9000 (K-9, k-nine, canine + three zeros) Cyberdog gun, it'd be called "something gun".~It wouldn't behave like a cyberdog either (sniffing, ear wiggling, barking etc.) http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/fallout/images/0/08/Personal_Sig_Image.gif Tagaziel (call!) 21:52, July 20, 2011 (UTC)
You're arguing semantics, not facts. Fact 1: The gun was developed in a facility focusing on developing cyberdogs. Fact 2: The weapon is named Cyberdog gun. If it wasn't supposed to be a cyberdog, it wouldn't be named so. Fact 3: The gun behaves like an actual dog while wielded (sniffing, moving ears) and responds to being equipped, unequipped and to nearby hostiles, indicating a certain level of awareness. http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/fallout/images/0/08/Personal_Sig_Image.gif Tagaziel (call!) 22:34, July 20, 2011 (UTC)
Implemented, put on a coat of fancy talk. You should add it to the cyberdog variants page. http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/fallout/images/0/08/Personal_Sig_Image.gif Tagaziel (call!) 23:37, July 20, 2011 (UTC)

So far I have only attempted it for weapons and armor. The couple of armor examples I have tried all come out as a mess (i.e. legs and arms all over the place), but the weapons work fine. But it should work for most other things in the gamebryo engine and I can make it a lot larger if needed (but that takes a very long time to process). Divergence[edit source]

Here is a question for you, what is the source that divergence happen around WWII? The reason I ask is because Sunset Sarsaparilla was est. in 1918 and doesn't exist in the real world. User:AvatarUser talk:Avatar 01:20, July 22, 2011 (UTC)

I can understand The World of Tomorrow concept for the style and feel of the game, but that is simply a design concept. To me that doesn't mean that Divergence happened at that time. I am thinking more of the Butterfly effect, that something very small changed on or before 1918 (Sunset Sarsaparilla as evidence) which resulted in bigger and bigger changes as time went on. This means that things like The World of Tomorrow could still exist in the Fallout timeline due to its close proximity in time to the trigger event. User:AvatarUser talk:Avatar 02:13, July 22, 2011 (UTC)
In that case, I might re-write that section to reflect and incorporate such things as Sunset Sarsaparilla (so they no longer become inconsistencies) while explaining that major events closer to the divergence remain mainly unchanged. That is unless you find anything that contradicts this hypotheses. User:AvatarUser talk:Avatar 02:28, July 22, 2011 (UTC)

I don't even remember putting cyborg as a race. I went to edit the page, and while I went to click edit, my edit got blocked because someone else made an edit before I did. Think tank pics[edit source]

I may be wrong but I think that your pictures you posted from the think tank, of Mobius and Klein before become robots are backwards. The reason I personally think this is because it gives a large hint that Klein wore glasses since you can pick up and Item called Klein's Eyeglasses on the table to the far left of where Dala usually is looking at the computer screens. Though that is just my opinion, I could be the one that is wrong, and if so then sorry in advance for the trouble.--67.242.23.126 01:27, July 23, 2011 (UTC)

Lonesome Road content?[edit source]

FNVOVB Divide Map Clean.png

I don't think so, Itachou. I just loaded the FalloutNV.esm file of the GECK (so not OWB or any other DLC .esm file) and it appears already. And I've checked the Use Info of the dining table. It's located in the Lucky 38 presidential suite (I think) and another one in The Tops presidential suite. Same thing with the arena fence. Its Use Info says it's located in the Wilderness. I think that's the one in Red Rock Canyon, behind Jerry the Punk. JspoelJspoel Vault Boy.png 23:03, July 23, 2011 (UTC)

Yeah the table one appeared in the original .esm. At the time it was considered to be one of the easter eggs to what was to come in future DLC's (discovered at the same time as the HH snowglobe). But I disproved that as it is also from the Point Lookout DLC and included in the Calvert Mansion (which happens to be the 4th DLC for FO3) but it wasn't in use during that time, so it has since been added by a update. Mister Handy[edit source]

I can see where he is coming from, since there is a model used in the REPCONN HQ which is the same (base game), just a repainted version of the new Mister Orderly line discovered in Big MT. User:AvatarUser talk:Avatar 03:05, July 24, 2011 (UTC)

No, there is another unique (well it was unique until OWB came out) model located in REPCONN HQ that does the tour. It has the same arm layout as the new Mister Orderly. However, that image isn't inside the gallery fro Mister Handy either. I would have considered it a variant of the Mister Handy until OWB came out and gave us the new range. Fool in the chat[edit source]

We have a user called "MichaelFallout" in the chatroom who has been calling users "nigger" "gayass nerds" andsaying he will kick all our asses. Would you mind to come kickban him? Thanx, Hugs Scar: "Say 'ello to my little friend!" 12:04, July 25, 2011 (UTC)

I saw this message and took care of the situation. He's been blocked from editing for three days and banned from chat, IMO he can be unbanned when the block expires but will likely do it again if so. I do have the evidence they provided. --Kris User Hola.jpg 13:00, July 25, 2011 (UTC)

Again?[edit source]

Okay, reasons for edits:

  1. Big MT's tech being superior to Enclave's is a subjective statement.
  2. The names of the science staff are long lost, their current ones were given to them by Mobius.
  3. Think tank project is not elaborated upon in the game. It's not stated in the game even if it was a separate project.
  4. The research did not continue after the war. Everything is pre-War.

We need a separate heading entitled "research projects". The background section is too vital to clutter it up.

http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/fallout/images/0/08/Personal_Sig_Image.gif Tagaziel (call!) 12:30, July 25, 2011 (UTC)

Ad hominem attacks will get you nowhere. The comparison to the Enclave is baseless and pure speculation. The fact that Dr Henry, a former Enclave member, is a qualified canine neuroscientist indicates that he is familiar with cyberdogs and their built. In Fo2 there are also two canines, both related to the Enclave, one is Dr Henry's, the other Dr Schreber's. Furthermore, since you yourself admit that the Enclave is better in some technological aspects, rating Big MT as surpassing the Enclave is highly subjective, since it relies on the assumption that some fields are inherently better than others. The article already hammers home the point that Big MT was on the cutting edge of technology. Defining it twice is superfluous. The bit about the think tank being a separate project is pure speculation and a leap of logic.
Next, I've done substantial revisions to the article, including a thorough rewrite of the background section based on my fresh playthrough and researching the dialogue files to provide a good overview. If you haven't noticed during your reversals, these revisions incorporate points raised by you in a satisfying manner. As for why I prefer the content I wrote? That's because I spent nearly two hours planning it out and writing it, so that it follows in a logical pattern. I'm the last person to request credit for that; however, substantial alterations to what is a deliberately chosen style of writing and layout I consider intrusive and insulting.
Last, I remain courteous and refrain from accusing you of child-like behaviour. I expect the same in return. http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/fallout/images/0/08/Personal_Sig_Image.gif Tagaziel (call!) 14:55, July 25, 2011 (UTC)

X-13 suit[edit source]

Shouldn't the page be called "X-13 cardiac regulator sneak suit" and instead have the other name "sneak suit Mk2" redirect there? Just a thought, it seems like the most correct thing to do. Hugs Scar: "Say 'ello to my little friend!" 13:15, July 25, 2011 (UTC)

Well, no problem then ;). Hugs Scar: "Say 'ello to my little friend!" 13:26, July 25, 2011 (UTC)

It's not the proper name. See here. Official released achievements. http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/fallout/images/0/08/Personal_Sig_Image.gif Tagaziel (call!) 13:39, July 25, 2011 (UTC)

I did not find any info in the game (after all the quests, though, so it might be lost in the dialogues) but still, there must be plenty of things named simply on out-of-game things, such as the sneaky suit. Are there any clear examples of anything like that? Hugs Scar: "Say 'ello to my little friend!" 14:28, July 25, 2011 (UTC)
I think that that counts as valid evidence. Anyway, the Laser RCW isn't the best example, as it is supported in game by the abbreviation "RCW". Hugs Scar: "Say 'ello to my little friend!" 14:40, July 25, 2011 (UTC)
Just to chip in here;
-The psycho-analytic cardiac-dampening sneaky stealth suit, a suit like NOTHING this world has ever heard, seen, or could EVER see!- Klein.
That is the closest reference found in the game to a full name. It isnt much, but at least it is something User:AvatarUser talk:Avatar 18:33, July 25, 2011 (UTC)
VAloopy has contacted Avellone on Twitter, and to my knowledge, Avellone usually responds. So this will all be worked out in a day or too. Hugs Scar: "Say 'ello to my little friend!" 19:05, July 25, 2011 (UTC)

I think it works for now, but I'd rahter see a definitive name, as that might as well simply be a line of adjectives used to describe the suit. Hopefully Avellone will help in this. It works for now, though ;). Hugs Scar: "Say 'ello to my little friend!" 19:16, July 25, 2011 (UTC)

Minigun[edit source]

Thought you might what to read this to explain why I change the page back User talk:GhostAvatar/Archive 4#Miniguns and User talk:Ausir/Archive 11#Minigun User:AvatarUser talk:Avatar 16:38, July 25, 2011 (UTC)

Oh I agree with you, I had this argument with Ausir. But when they get a sourced quote from the devs stating that they are the same weapon regardless of appearance, you cant really argue that. However, I do agree in separating the FOT weapons (missed the other one), because the dev source does not cover that game. User:AvatarUser talk:Avatar 17:13, July 25, 2011 (UTC)
I added back the referances and removed the sources section. This is for a few reasons, firstly source section is not part of the page layout guidelines, secondly those sources are transcluded into other pages. Plus it is just practise to references certain sentences, especially when you are mixing several sources into one paragraph. User:AvatarUser talk:Avatar 17:34, July 25, 2011 (UTC)

FOBOS Power and Combat armor images[edit source]

Hello. Seems we have a hard time adding images to Combat armor (Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel) and Power armor (Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel) pages. So could you please tell me if it is Power and Combat armor on screenshots here and here? The screenshots are not of the best quality but they can be cropped and added to pages. Poor quality image is better than no image at all, isn't it? veryblackraven 10:40, July 27, 2011 (UTC)

Well, I see. Thanks for your help. This one looks very similar to T-51b. Pity it's not the right image. As for experimental deathclaw animation, I saw it but I wasn't sure it's really a deathclaw. Now I've converted it to GIF and added to articles. veryblackraven 14:05, July 27, 2011 (UTC)

Hi Itachou[edit source]

I was wondering what it means when it says that the community messages have been updated? It takes me to the activity feed when I click it, but that can't be right, can it? See you around, TheGuardianCalligraphy.pngGuardianoftheWastesTag.png.

Well Porter told me soon after you left a message :). I've only just got both (I decided it was time to sell excess weapons on FNV and got 100,000 caps, so not bad, but I don't know what I'll do with them...). If you give me a minute I'll post it here. Two ticks... 16:06, July 27, 2011 (UTC)
That notification means that the "Community Messages" box on Special:WikiActivity has been updated (it's in the right column below the "Hot Spots"). -- Porter21 (talk) 13:53, July 27, 2011 (UTC) on my talk page.
So now we both know :). TheGuardianCalligraphy.pngGuardianoftheWastesTag.png.

Japanese culture and history[edit source]

It seems to me you like this a fair bit; is that right? TheGuardianCalligraphy.pngGuardianoftheWastesTag.png.

Excellent! I think it is very interesting indeed. I first learnt about it when I played Shogun: Total war when I was seven, and the immense differences in culture facsinated me. I must confess that the main reason I was originally attracted to it was because of the samurai, especially the daimyo in Sengoku Jidai (The age of the country at war), which is what the game focuses on. That is the main reason I bought it. Obviously I didn't know a lot of this then, but I learned a lot through that game, it was great for accuracy, and was, I believe, the first game I played. Just recently they brought out a sequel, Shogun 2: Total War. I suggest you give it a look.
I also like other periods like the Meiji period and the fall of the shogunate. Although I find World War Two interesting, I don't like to dwell on it, especially the end for hopefully obvious reasons. As for anime and manga, I know a little about it, but don't have much access to much because I don't have satilite TV or anything. What would you suggest?
If I'm completely honest, I am writing a book on comparisons between Great Britain and Ireland and Japan, mainly because there are a lot of similarities if you look beneath the surface. All very interesting in my opinion :).
TheGuardianCalligraphy.pngGuardianoftheWastesTag.png

Sorry, I forgot to mention that is historical :). It is nice of you to try and find modern-day similaities to be polite ;). I still have a long way to go, and a lot of books to read, but I'll get there eventually. I might need to expand to other ancient island nations for a deeper comparison. The point is that they all follow similar patterns, and so I am wondering whether that is due to humans being similar, which they obviously are. All quite interesting in my opinion, and it's not too difficult as I write poems and essays anyway. In fact, the latin on your page inspired one ;).
I also watched some of those animes on the link. That is a great site, and just the kind of thing that I was after. Thanks! I can't find this Gunnm though, don't suppose you could point me in the direction of that so that I can check it out? And this Ruroni Kenshin?
I also like the armour, it's a very important part of their culture and also an art form in itself I feel. Bushido is very interesting to, and I do some Kyudo, but I can't afford a proper Yumi yet, so I'll have to make do with my normal bow for now :). Big MT edits[edit source]

Hey, thanks for not being mad at me. We butt heads a lot here and it's good to know that there's no bad blood between us. I've made a few further edits (mostly streamlining what exists and fixing a few odd sentences). I did move the moment when the Sink's personalities were sent off the balcony to before the War, since it makes a bit more sense to have two humans have an argument, rather than two bots (who would've argued inside the dome, rather than on a balcony). Japan Cont'[edit source]

I thought that you might not get the message if I posted it up there, too many messages (all of which are unsigned and one line, why?)

Yes, I have to work out my left arm or I will be too strong on one side for the other because of drawing the bow :). I think it is good fun, but there are many different 'schools'. I lean toward the one that goes for accuracy rather than meditation, because although meditation is nice, it was no the original point of kyudo, accuracy was. Not that I will use it for killing in battle, but that is the purpose of it and so I'd rather stick with it in its original form.

And for you, that is a simple favour and I will happily oblige. I'd rather watch subtitles than have it dubbed anyhow. Have you ever seen Mongol? That is a great film, in Mongolian, and I don't think it would be right in something else. I used it as an example because it is my favourite foreign language film. So you play Fallout in English, not French? Is there even a French version of this wiki? Is that just the speech or the menus too?

That is funny (GTO) :). It was a little odd at first, but at least he tries to contain his emotions, both anger and lust ;). I can't get the Kenshin one to work though because it says that the video can't be found... I'll sort it out though :). Actually, talking of errors, my FO2 mapper keeps saying 'cannot load cities': any ideas?

TheGuardianCalligraphy.pngGuardianoftheWastesTag.png

Itachou? I did it down here, in case you are missing it. :) TheGuardianCalligraphy.pngGuardianoftheWastesTag.png

Now it did it to me :). Sorry.
Yes, it seems he has stopped because he was banned by Jspoel. Quite funny really if you look into it, but he seems well intentioned enough, just the lure of those ever so shiny badges ;).
I think you will enjoy Mongol, it's a good film. I cna't wait for the sequel! And as for that site, it is very impressive, but it's a shame that it has gone to waste. Obviously, not as much for me as I can't read much French, but still... At least you are a key guy here now!
GTO is great. I'm glad you showed me it, I've watched a fair few now, still some issues with the site and copyright warnings etc, but I am really enjoying them. Thanks again :).
Lastly, the error is here. Any ideas? Could it be because of the restoration mod, or is it not directly linked to the game? TheGuardianCalligraphy.pngGuardianoftheWastesTag.png
Yes, he has not been back since, but his ban runs out today or tomorrow. I'm sure he will be alright as he has attempted to have a good userpage, but it was still odd :).
Wow, you've been here a very long time. It must be as enjoyable as I find it now even after a long time then ;). And you would fit right into some places over here talking about the French like that ;). Sometimes I find it really hard to like my country when there are people like that around, but that's for another time :).
As for GTO, it was Episode two, but I'll try to find it somewhere else I think. Episode Four has been the best so far. What is the other one you have in mind? Is it manga or anime?
I'm very glad you like it! It took me quite a while, but it was on paint, which is very basic so it's not great in my opinion, so I may touch it up for you :). Is it a Republican Guard? I fashioned it to be one because of our first conversation, and the medal is alright too? You still haven't replied to my last post when we discussed history, England, France etcetera, just to let you know :).
Talk to you soon Itachou, TheGuardianCalligraphy.pngGuardianoftheWastesTag.png.

O or 0[edit source]

What do you think of think tank member Doctor O, Itachou? Should the page name be O (or as it soon appears to be) 0? JspoelJspoel Vault Boy.png 22:39, July 30, 2011 (UTC)

  • You're too fast for me Itachou! I'm getting a bit older too ya now ;) I was just browsing through the AI page. To be honest, I think that wouldn't be such a bad link. Maybe not entirely correct, but I feel we may get a bit nitpicky creating another, similar designation. JspoelJspoel Vault Boy.png 23:15, July 30, 2011 (UTC)
Actually if I remember rightly from a convo with Mobius and the Think Tank being stuck in a loop, his actual name name is Ouroboros. User:AvatarUser talk:Avatar 16:35, July 31, 2011 (UTC)
Forget that, just remembered he was talking about Borous. User:AvatarUser talk:Avatar 16:39, July 31, 2011 (UTC)
Yes that's right, Borous is a spelling mistake that the courier can point out. And I actually chose that option Itachou! I generally do things once by the way, and so I've had that conversation only once, but I (I'm told) have a photographic memory. Just letting you know there is now some concordia and it is named 0. TheGuardianCalligraphy.pngGuardianoftheWastesTag.png.

Sink's entities[edit source]

They are nothing more than automated response modules simulating the effects of AI. To call them something like synthetic personalities implies there is a certain level of AI, which is not the case. It is simply preprogrammed set of responses keyed to certain inputs, that is most likely passed through a complex AI simulation algorithms to give the illusion of personalty. User:AvatarUser talk:Avatar 00:25, July 31, 2011 (UTC)

Yeah I see what you mean. If that is how they are described in the game, then it is what we must follow regardless. User:AvatarUser talk:Avatar 16:15, July 31, 2011 (UTC)

Robo-scorpion[edit source]

I changed the lock to one day. This page covers something from a new dlc and should not be locked at all. This wiki survives on anon and new users more so when a new dlc comes out. Maybe in a month or so we can lock it if the need arises but not now.--Kingclyde 01:49, July 31, 2011 (UTC)

Borous[edit source]

How have you determined there name to be Gail Richardson? User:AvatarUser talk:Avatar 17:25, July 31, 2011 (UTC)

Sorry to drop in on another person's chat topic, but I noticed that the topic I wanted to talk about already existed. Anyways, I removed the inclusion of Gail Richardson from Borous a few days ago, only to find that it was put back on there by you. I had hoped that you had found concrete in-game evidence to prove that the two characters were one and the same, but unfortunately that wasn't the case. Since there wasn't any evidence proving it, I removed it. I understand that you're trying to figure out the true names of the Think Tank based on information in the terminals, and that's all fine and dandy, but until you find the proof you're looking for, I'd really appreciate it if you didn't put Gail Richardson back on there. Besides, "Gail Richardson" is very clearly a female name, so if you feel adamant about her becoming a Think Tank, then put the information on Dala, because it looks a bit more reasonable that way. Mr. Mittens 20:08, July 31, 2011 (UTC)

Thanks for getting back to me quickly. I checked GhostAvatar's page and it looks like you came to the conclusion that Gail Richardson can't be Borous after you made the edit, so this problem has resolved itself, which is good. Good luck trying to find out who's who. I'm honestly not that curious about the true identities of the Think Tank, but gender-bending Borous was pretty confusing for me. Anyways, thanks and good luck. Mr. Mittens 20:25, July 31, 2011 (UTC)

Hi there![edit source]

Hello and thanks for the nice welcome to the wiki! I hope to add what I can (though it's mostly going to be minor stuff like typo fixes). See you around! Nate D. 20:43, July 31, 2011 (UTC)

Itachou, a badge warned me that I have been here for two months continuously which I didn't think I would do, and I think that it because of people like you who have made it really fun for me. Thus, I made you a little something as a thanks. Republican Guard and flag.png

I added a medal (designed to be like the Ordre national de la Légion d'honneur) to show you were an admin. I'm 90% sure it is a Republican Guard, just not in the mounted-style armour. Anyway, I hope you like it :). Thanks again.

Message thing[edit source]

It's definitely playing up, that's twice now for me, and I'm guessing you too. Anyway its up there ^. Nice Robobrain pics too.

One other question though, how do I start a forum page? Thanks. :) TheGuardianCalligraphy.pngGuardianoftheWastesTag.png.

My mistake, I saw your pictures earlier and so I was unsure if you got it :).
I'm very glad about the image, it looks good where you have put it. I have missed the braid things (its really annoying me because I can't remember the name of them, but I do/did know it), but that would be too difficult to do on this program, and might muck it up :).
Okay, suspense is good ;). I've been watching about three a day in my spare time (you may have noticed my edit amount has dropped per day), but I can wait. It won't be too long :).
Yes, that was my question and that is all. I was just curious and wanted to know your opinion. Different perspectives and all that :).
The admin request is very different to those of Cartman! and Kastera's more recent ones, but I suspect it was much smaller back then. Not like the 4675 at the moment!
What's with the tea/coffee thing? I didn't get that, sorry :). TheGuardianCalligraphy.pngGuardianoftheWastesTag.png.
I quite like that :). I may start using that in my normal life ;). I have done the forum, please feel free to contribute. :). I'm off to bed now, so see you soon. TheGuardianCalligraphy.pngGuardianoftheWastesTag.png.

Hi, It was a while ago now, but I just realised I forgot to apologise to you for my goof-up on the X-2 antenna page. Sorry about that. Really? Glad I didn't misspell the section name then ;). That's cool then; Dude101 helped me to get the mapper working with a patch, so I'll finally get to use it :0. I'm a bit excited... :). TheGuardianCalligraphy.pngGuardianoftheWastesTag.png
Yeah, he's been really nice :). One problem though, if I try to take a screenshot, it comes up black. Do you know why? This mapper seems powerful, but so far its very annoying too! TheGuardianCalligraphy.pngGuardianoftheWastesTag.png
Well, it looks like its from the forties ;). That works perfectly, but I'll have to do it tomorrow now: I'm not feeling tip-top. Thanks again for all the help :). Can I ask if I have problems? Bon Nuit Itachou, TheGuardianCalligraphy.pngGuardianoftheWastesTag.png.

Unit 462[edit source]

Paralyzing Palm advice.[edit source]

Hi Itachou. Could you take a look at the Paralyzing Palm page, Bugs section and Talk page. I removed some info from Bugs (and saved it on the Talk page). A strategy; useful but there's no place for it, and a very unlikely-to-encounter bug. Is there a better way to deal with the information or incorporate it on the page? Thanks. I don't understand a few things anyway... when I create pages like this in Klamath, there wasn't any problems, even another admin edit articles without erasing it. Okay, they aren't separation locations but this is just a game engine . You say, yes for F3/F:NV buildings but for F1/F2/F:T no? However, look at Vic's, even Asuir create articles like this!--Maiar 13:13, August 7, 2011 (UTC)

Ok, now everything is clear, thanks. And next time give me some time to copy the names of the screenshots. ;p --Maiar 13:44, August 7, 2011 (UTC)

Mutant's Rising[edit source]

Well, I don't see why we should people ban from voicing their opinions. Mods are currently not covered by the Vault, but that doesn't mean this couldn't change if the community wants it to change. And while discussion about the mod itself would belong in the "off-topic" forum, it's not off-topic to discuss its wiki coverage, which is what the thread is about.

In general, it's not a good practice to close discussion threads just because an admin deems the discussion to be "over" - other people might not agree with that assessment. If there's nothing else to be said, people will simply stop replying to the thread and it'll sink down by itself.

That aside, closing threads disallows editors to make edits for maintenance reasons (fixing red links etc); all in all it's just increased workload for no real gain in my opinion. -- Porter21 (talk) 16:10, August 7, 2011 (UTC)

I'm well aware that there is a dedicated wiki for Fallout mods - I've even contributed to it. You're missing my point though - admin powers (including the ability to protect pages) are not there to suppress discussions one doesn't like, which is pretty much what you appear to be doing by locking the thread in question.
Regarding your other points - there are plenty of gaming wikis which cover non-official content. Quite a few cover notable mods (see e.g. http://uesp.net), and a number of them even cover fanon separated in an own namespace (e.g. wikia:jakanddaxter). So this supposed "golden rule" does not exist, and neither is it set in stone that the Vault would never cover mods. A wiki covers what its community wants it to cover, and suppressing discussion is harmful to gauging the community's opinion.
Personally I'm not in favour of covering mods like Mutants Rising either, but I strongly object to preventing community discussion about it. -- Porter21 (talk) 09:26, August 9, 2011 (UTC)

25% Repair?[edit source]

I noticed that you edited the Hologram emitter page from Repair skill of 25 to 25% Repair. Most pages show skill level as a number, not a percentage. Is this a standard that has changed? ty for your feedback -LawdyMissMaudy 23:03, August 7, 2011 (UTC)

  • Thanks for the quick response! I wonder if this is something that can be discussed in the wiki discussion forum for greater input? Although I sometimes wonder if anyone reads that :( -LawdyMissMaudy 23:11, August 7, 2011 (UTC)

Thanks[edit source]

Thanks for a good comment on my weapons and I promise to add more. By the way, I always wanted a VB image, black and white, Fallout 2 like lines, and high resolution. The VB is killing another VB through a gun (similar to the Earlier Sequence perk) however, there's the soul (sparkling orb) of the killed VB floating towards the VB who's alive. --gauzzrifle 23:12, August 8, 2011 (UTC)

Polls[edit source]

Sorry Itachou, yours were quite good I'm considering using some, most of the ones I reply to are either "How do I use this" or "I've already used this, sorry if it looked like I'm ignoring your ideas, also remember I have others ideas and my own, so I won't use them straight away. - Crazy Sam10 Talk User blog:Crazy sam10|PollShadowAttackSmallAni.gif 19:57, August 9, 2011 (UTC)

RE: holograms[edit source]

Shiny! Then perhaps you can tell me who N.E. is in the section which reads: "Big MT refused, imagining the cost to turn the holograms into something beyond walking cameras and greeters. However N.E., based on the technology already established in Big MT,"

Thanks! -- The Arcadian Rook(talk)User blog: Arcadian Rook|(Needs More Battle Cattle) 21:07, August 9, 2011 (UTC)

Hologram[edit source]

I'm not sure if I understand correctly what you say in your first sentence. It's a bit strange English. And sure, you can upload some hologram images, I like working with them. JspoelJspoel Vault Boy.png 21:12, August 9, 2011 (UTC)

  • Yes, that one came in handy, I could use it for the standard DM hologram image. I removed the surroundings using tolerance in Photoshop. And I have lightened some of your other images, they were a bit dark.
  • I changed Vera Keyes hologram back to Starlet hologram on the Dead Money page. Vera is not a character in the GECK, the starlets are.

Colored Vault pictures[edit source]

Hello Itachou!

I am glad that you like them so much. It is truly an amazing feeling when an administrator complements your work, and I thank you for that.

To answer your questions, I colored all the .png files myself, and would more than gladly let you post them in the gallery of their respective pages. I would also create more colored images if requested. Just drop a message and let me know.

I hope we can talk more often, but until then happy travels through the wasteland my friend! OctaviusoftheNorth 21:16, August 9, 2011 (UTC)

Re: Re Holograms and the mentioned Note.[edit source]

So... we really have no idea who N.E. is or are, then?

Images help[edit source]

Hi Itachou, how have you been? I was wondering if you could do me a favour or two? Basically, I didn't realise my signature was not transparent, if you see what I mean, and I was wondering if you could make the two parts backgrounds transparent for me. Its just you said that you could last time I asked Jspoel. The files are contained in my signature, so give me a minute and I'll give you the paths :). Don't worry if you can't. TheGuardianCalligraphy.pngGuardianoftheWastesTag.png.

It's TheGuardianCalligraphy.png and GuardianoftheWastesTag.png :).

CPO[edit source]

I'm fine thanks :).

Yes, sorry Itachou. That was me, I've been doing something else and I only use this on this wiki because it would be odd on others. I just forgot to change. A permanent ban might be handy because then I will remember to change :). It's just you missed it so I moved it down, but I was logged into the wrong thing. Is it possible for you to ban my other account? I'll provide proof if you need it :). Thanks a lot, too. See you soon Itachou. TheGuardianCalligraphy.pngGuardianoftheWastesTag.png.

Yes I am being completely sincere. I dont't want to get confused you see, no joke. :). I saw that you were busy, that's why I said not to worry if you couldn't. Also, if you don't want to do it, I'm not trying to force you to, but I don't think anyone will mind if you put something like "Guardian's alternate account: banned at his request." I really appreciate your help too, I still can't do it so I may need to invest in some software to do so :). I was just doing the project and so I realised that when I signed of Connar it looked rubbish, so I thought I should ask you :). TheGuardianCalligraphy.pngGuardianoftheWastesTag.png
Thanks a lot Itachou. Yes, that's right :). How did you find out? I'm trying to keep it under wraps at the moment; it's almost like a present for my brother, but it's alot harder than I thought it would be... When the time is right I was going to ask users from here to contribute so that it expands :). At least as a plus side I'm getting used to more templates, code, tools etc, so that I can use it here (hopefully) at a later date.Maybe you can help by adding those biographies you mentioned to me later once things are sorted? At any rate, I'll tell you when its ready. TheGuardianCalligraphy.pngGuardianoftheWastesTag.png.
Haha, yes but that is part of the fun :). I've just done twenty odd templates. Hard work... I think I'll watch some GTO and relax ;). And thanks, I will tell you when it is time :).

Percentages in FNV[edit source]

Itachou, my friend, I hear you've been putting percentages (%) behind skills on Fallout: New Vegas pages. This is wrong in my opinion, as there is no reason for them to be there. There isn't any percentage mark in the game itself, and it uses a different system to calculate success (i.e., not a percentage chance as in Fo1/2/T, with the percentage of success being modified and so on, as in Fo3 and FNV there's a minigame and skill reqs). The percentage marks has nothing to do in the pages at all, so I think that they should be removed. Hugs Scar: "Say 'ello to my little friend!" 15:19, August 10, 2011 (UTC)

Agreed, as for when skills are mentioned, we should have first the value of the skill, then the skill itself, for example "25 Repair". But good that you agree on the percentages ;). Cya around. Hugs Scar: "Say 'ello to my little friend!" 15:40, August 10, 2011 (UTC)
What can I say, my passion is roleplaying. I hold it as dear to me as I know you you do the Fallout canon and background. I'll never stop pushing my views onto people! XD. Hugs Scar: "Say 'ello to my little friend!" 15:52, August 10, 2011 (UTC)

So close[edit source]

Just as I went to mark it for deletion ;). TheGuardianCalligraphy.pngGuardianoftheWastesTag.png

We can but hope ;).

Thanks[edit source]

Thanks and great work uploading better resolution images for the Old World Blues achievements! K1LL 21:55, August 10, 2011 (UTC)

Images[edit source]

Can you please not delete images that are still in use on user pages, example seen here Special:WantedFiles. Instead just change the category to user images. User:AvatarUser talk:Avatar 11:12, August 11, 2011 (UTC)

I know where you are coming from, but it does fille up the wanted images in doing so. I have change the cats for you. Alternately you can redirect the images just like a page if you wanted. User:AvatarUser talk:Avatar 12:01, August 11, 2011 (UTC)

Question about robots[edit source]

Greetings, Itachou. i like to ask a question. Is "Mr Gutsy" a race? because i think they're types, not race. MrGazzo 15:23, August 11, 2011 (UTC)

The other place...[edit source]

Turns out there is a wiki with the same goal, so I've asked it to absorb mine. It was way too stressful anyway, and all I wanted to do was the Fallout I and II character project. I think I'll stick to these wikis; much more fun. Just thought I would tell you :). TheGuardianCalligraphy.pngGuardianoftheWastesTag.png 20:09, August 11, 2011 (UTC).

No! I want didn't realise the literature wiki existed, so there is no need for the Written Word one :). I was trying to say that all I wanted to do was to do the Vault, not that I wanted to leave :). Don't worry though, I didn't make it that clear. TheGuardianCalligraphy.pngGuardianoftheWastesTag.png.
That's all done for you Itachou. No, I'm fine thanks :). Its just an excuse to steal. I'll tell you more tomorrow :) TheGuardianCalligraphy.pngGuardianoftheWastesTag.png

Bio gel[edit source]

I didn't actually add that myself. Look at the history, it was already mentioned. I just reworded it so it sounded better. I have no idea if it's true or not, but it was in the article before I ever started editing it. --Evenratman 11:30, August 12, 2011 (UTC)

Nevermind, I see what you mean now. Thanks for the warning, I'll be more careful next time. :) --Evenratman 11:32, August 12, 2011 (UTC)

Looters[edit source]

Sorry I only left a short message last night; everyone was shouting at me to go to bed ;). Basically, the police were shot at by someone, who was then shot dead by them (a rare occurance, hence the uproar). His family and friends went out to protest and then the local gangs jumped on the band-wagon, as they often do, and started smashing things up and stealing. As the police were not expecting this, the response to it was small and there was not a lot that they could do, not helped by the government cutting their numbers. Thus, the next day a larger amount of people came out and started to steal things to see what they could get away with. Then a trend developed all over the UK. What they didn't realise is that action couldn't be taken then, but is being now. The people doing it claimed it was for justice or because they needed things, but they are obviously excuses, bearing in mind that they were stealing expensive clothes and electrical goods. As for the state of the people doing it, a good example is this: an entire street was torched and robbed apart from the Waterstones store, which is our biggest book shop chain. These morons do not realise that they are destroying their own communities and it will cost them more in the long term... Anyway, I think I've rambled long enough: I could say more, but I don't think that you'll appreciate an essay on it ;).

As for the repulsion fields, it’s done. Not many mistakes really, but one that you did do a lot was to do 'cannot' as 'can not'; for some odd reason it is one word :). See you soon Itachou, TheGuardianCalligraphy.pngGuardianoftheWastesTag.png.

Eleventy[edit source]

I'm not exactly sure how you are taking the mentioning of him and that wiki as an insult. Could you please explain why I cannot use an example of another wiki that took editors from here and how that insulted you? Thanks.--Kingclyde 14:11, August 12, 2011 (UTC)
