Joshua Graham's pistol.

Hello.

I noticed you removed a line from the notes on Joshua Graham's page. Just a question, and not just because I wrote the edit :-). The other sentence in the notes also refers to him using the same gun for melee combat, but you left that in. Seems it would be an all-or-nothing edit removal. My point being, the G.E.C.K. is a "behind the scenes" tool. As far as the player is concerned he's using the same gun, and the whole tone of the notes section is "in-game". Just wondering what your reasoning was. All the best, --FourWayDiablo 12:42, July 19, 2011 (UTC)

Fair enough, it was only flavour text anyway. I've been trying to tidy up various pages whilst working around the more hyperbolic edits (I wouldn't consider Graham a "master of melee weapons", for example), without leaving the text too dry. --FourWayDiablo 15:04, July 19, 2011 (UTC)

location pages

Figured I'd bounce this idea off you seeing as you are the locations project leader.

Would it be useful to: Develop a script that walks the Fallout 3 web pages, looking for location pages. When a location page is found, scrape the adjacent locations (buildings) from the page. Take the gathered info and generate a web page for each location with links to the location's source page(s) and links to the generated page for each adjacent location.

If a location link on a generated page is incorrect (say Megaton links to Arefu), the generated page is not corrected, the source page is found and corrected, and the script is run again to replace the generated pages.

The generated web pages would have almost no descriptive text, follow the link to the source page for that. The current web pages would not be replaced.

This would create a set of pages that are very lean and highly formatted, using the information that has already been written. In my hallucination, the generated pages would eventually map one-to-one to the actual locations in Fallout 3.

The script could be enhanced to scrap other info, like loot, characters, quests, etc. and put them on the generated pages.

What do you think? Or is there someone else should evaluate this? Or has this already been done?

Thank you --User:TheLoneJanitor - "Hey kid, you done with that bottle?" 03:26, August 4, 2011 (UTC)

Nuka Breaker

Hi Nitty ;)!

If you can provide a proof from the devs that the Nuka Breaker is a reference to the Nuka Break serie, I'm ok for add it on the page. If not, please don't put it on the page, it's just a bad speculation and we don't need that here (especially from an admin).

Also, the reference of Sprtel-Wood 9700 was from Josh Sawyer -> [1], and not from a bad speculation.

In an additional note, we don't know when Gun Runners' Arsenal was developed and it was announced (so the development was finished sometime before) on August 25 with the first image was the Nuka Breaker, so the development began a long time before (for creation of the 3D models, the textures etc.). The Nuka Break episode 3 was released on September 26. It's the fan-made series that actually reference the game, not the other way around.

Have a nice day and see you around! Itachou [~talk~] 11:22, October 5, 2011 (UTC)

Please read everything I wrote above Nitty and not just a part. Itachou [~talk~] 12:51, October 5, 2011 (UTC)
Just to notify you, I've asked Sawyer on Formspring, and mentioned as much on the NB's talkpage. I'll be sure to message you when he answers. Hugs MadeMan2.png "Say 'ello to my little friend!"

False, as you can see, this image was uploaded on August 25:
GRA 01.jpg

And the episode 3 was released on September 26. So I await your conclusion on the issue.

I just remove at least 4-5 times this reference on the page so I get tired, like the user who started the topic on the talk page. Without real proof, bad speculation is not allowed here and you should know Nitty. Itachou [~talk~] 21:13, October 5, 2011 (UTC)

Just a note Nitty but what you have done here is sadly a fault into your admin position in my opinion. You have bring a speculation without proof and without check in spite of all that I told you. It was easy to see when the Gun Runners' Arsenal page was created (August 25) or when the image was uploaded (August 25), but no, you have prefered to keep your speculative position without listening to the arguments of others and without checking. So please in the future, be more neutral and open minded. I know you since long time and I had trouble understanding your action while you were without fault from the beginning. But it doesn't matter, each of us have made mistakes and you remain an excellent admin for me, and a good friend =).
Also, nothing is minor, such acceptance without real proof can bring a lot of more speculation in the future. Anyone comes on the talk page and talk with people before adding a reference which is not sure (as some people have done), not add it as if he was sure of him without real proof and verification (as some people have done also), pragmatic actions are not welcome here as you know. Adding a reference which is not sure, not verified and without proof is "inserting false information". For a reference which is not sure, just come with or wait a proof is the thing to do. Itachou [~talk~] 15:18, October 6, 2011 (UTC)

about "fallout new vegas" references

While going through I noticed that very likely reference was unlisted. I made a section before realizing that it was blocked, so I figured that you could look at it. The section is

==Beyond the Horizon==
  • When passing a speech check with Ralph he will open up a secret stock of weapons for you to buy. When you talk to him after unlocking the hidden addition, he will say "A polite society is an armed society." This is almost word for word, with polite and armed switching it is exactly, a quote from Robert A. Heinlein's "Beyond the horizon", but the quote also appears in "Time Enough for Love".

I think it's a likely reference because you don't see anything in it's vain elsewhere in the game, and it's a rather good choice for the game, because that's the main threat for not taking anything, until you get a unique weapon that is.

Hope you consider, thanks.

Technical stuff

Hey Nitty. As this edit indicates, I assume you probably know the inner workings of game data. I was wondering if you are able to access FO3 and FNV game files to find which merchants carry ammunition and which ammunition they carry, if any. I'm trying to standardize ammo pages (and get rid of some "Section needed" tags in the same go), but I need reliable data on where to locate ammo before I can start filling in locations. If you can do this, let me know. Otherwise, I guess I'll do it the hard way :\ --Kastera (talk) 03:20, 13 February 2014 (UTC)

I haven't made any progress, though you can chalk that up to me not trying very hard. Shadowrunner added a few ammo locations, but nothing too substantial. I figure I'll go into my max level games, wait three days for the shop inventories to turn over and jot down what they're selling. I'll get around to it eventually. If you're feeling bored, feel free to do the same. --Kastera (talk) 03:29, 6 March 2014 (UTC)
Actually, Runner did more than I thought. Check out his contributions on February 12 and you can see what he did. From what I saw he added the level you can get certain ammo from Chet and Cliff Briscoe. Don't know where he got those figures though. --Kastera (talk) 01:18, 7 March 2014 (UTC)

Blood-Nap texture

Took some digging to find it again, but the texture's named nvdlc04bowieknifesepc. It also doesn't have a 1st person texture, only this 3rd person one, though it's not like it matters as it's the exact same resolution as the 1st person texture. Actually, the bowie knife has weird textures in general. Even it's regular 3rd person textures are exactly the same size as the 1st person textures and have alpha channels for some reason as well. Same goes for the unique texture, an alpha channel that serves no purpose. Oh well, rushed development leaves things half-baked, I guess. Shadowrunner(stuff) 07:41, 23 May 2015 (UTC)

I'll move the page. I don't necessarily think that these two weapons systems are the same weapon. They both are flamethrowers true, but they seem to function differently.--Ant2242 (talk) 02:27, 29 August 2015 (UTC)
Should we have an overview page for all flamethrower types?--Ant2242 (talk) 03:15, 29 August 2015 (UTC)

Competition Conclusion

Guess what? You made it into the top 6 in the competition! Make sure to read up [http://fallout.gamepedia.com/Blog:Wiki/Fallout_4_Competition_Conclusion here to read up on everything. Since you came in 6th place, your default prize will be a Fallout vinyl of your choice from the official BethStore! However, if our other winners choose another prize other than their default prizes, then their prizes will be up for grabs, and I will notify you of that.

Thank you so much for joining us. <3 GarouxBloodline 00:01, 5 November 2015 (UTC)

The CE of the Fallout 4 Prima Guide is available to you, as well as any bobblehead/plush of your choosing. :3 Let me know your choice! Once I get your answer, we will have our prizes figured out for everyone. GarouxBloodline 20:58, 5 November 2015 (UTC)
Did you E-Mail your information to us, using the instructions on the competition blog? I could have sworn that you did, but I cannot find it. Regardless, can you resend your information through FalloutTheories@gamepedia.com? Try and send it out by tonight, as we are ready to start shipping prizes out as of this week. Thanks a lot! Wait, never mind. Just re-found it! Sorry about that, and Curse should be getting into contact with you all shortly. GarouxBloodline 19:56, 9 November 2015 (UTC)

E-Mail

Alright! So, I got into touch with Curse, and here is the deal: we double-checked the E-Mail that I gave them, which is the same one that you used to E-Mail us with. Curse then went in, and saw that your account was created using a different E-Mail, so they tried sending an E-Mail to that one, but it bounced; so, we are not sure what the deal is there. So, right now, we are a bit confused with your E-Mail situation, and the best thing that we can think of right now, is that maybe their E-Mail was sent into your spam folder.

Can you check that out for us and then let me know? Thank you so much for your patience. GarouxBloodline 20:13, 30 November 2015 (UTC)

Murphy's Law! I am just glad that we got that sorted out: I really am sorry that this was drawn out so long for you. GarouxBloodline 13:20, 1 December 2015 (UTC)
That was a month ago... good thing you sent me a message today: I will be moving soon, and there would have been no telling when I could have gotten back with you. I will shoot a message out to Curse again. This really should not be happening. While you are waiting for a response, try sending in your form again, and see if they manage to see it this time. GarouxBloodline 16:04, 31 December 2015 (UTC)
-sigh- Well, update me if you get a proper response. In the meantime, I will get this figured out from my end. GarouxBloodline 05:12, 1 January 2016 (UTC)
Do you have a Steam account? If so, shoot me a request at 'GarouxBloodline'. I figure I will send a little something something your way as an apology for the wait. GarouxBloodline 23:32, 4 January 2016 (UTC)
