Re: Elder[]

Because that's the head of Morpheus. There is no indication that the Elder would have used Morpheus's talking head, but if you want to revert the article I won't disagree, and if you know any reason why the head is associated with the Elder please tell me. -Cannibalbrane 18:31, July 23, 2011 (UTC)

My only thought is that they wanted to make the Elder a TH way back in maybe Alpha stages or something, although what could be more likely is maybe they were going to put a TH into the playable demo? That would make sense. Showcase the technology or whatever :) Sduibek 21:17, July 26, 2011 (UTC)

Either way I updated the Elder page, so hopefully it's less confusing now...Sduibek 21:16, July 26, 2011 (UTC)

Verifying[]

Howdy, I saw your message on User:Tribal Wisdom's talk page and thought I'd drop you a message to explain. To verify something (bugs typically) the item in need of verification needs to be experienced by someone other than the original poster. To have a new console added to the bug, someone needs to experience said bug on a different console. I hope this helps. Richie9999 (talk) 02:39, December 1, 2013 (UTC)

Verify Template[]

Hi there! I see that you are using the {{Verify}} template quite a bit. However, policy on the wiki is that the verify template is strictly used for bug verification. I just thought I'd let you know. ---bleep196- (talk) 03:27, December 8, 2013 (UTC)

Gotcha, thank you, I did not know that. I was taking the word too literally, apparently. Now I'll have to go remove a bunch of them, heh. Thanks again. Sduibek (talk) 03:44, December 8, 2013 (UTC)
All erroneous Verify tags should now be removed from the pages I've edited. Two were legitly regarding bugs so they stayed. Thanks! Sduibek (talk) 04:16, December 8, 2013 (UTC)

Edit Count[]

Hello! Thank you for your contributions here, but I'd like to ask if you can reduce your edits a bit on pages. I'm asking, because on the Patrick special encounter pages, you have edited them quite a bit within a short time-frame when you could be using the Preview button to condense your edits down to maybe one or two edits per page. Thanks a lot, and happy editing! ForGaroux Some Assembly Required! 03:40, December 8, 2013 (UTC)

Understood. I tend to have an itchy trigger finger, so to speak. I'll be more careful with that going forward. Sduibek (talk) 03:44, December 8, 2013 (UTC)
It's fine! It's not all that big of an issue, especially this late at night - but during our active peaks, it just becomes a bit of an inconvenience in the recent changes. Keep up the good work! ForGaroux Some Assembly Required! 04:08, December 8, 2013 (UTC)

Fallout tapes edits[]

Thanks for your edits on the Fallout tapes, Sduibek. You seem to be a bit of an old games expert and modder from what I read on NMA. We could sure your input here with updating the technical stuff on those older games. For instance, I have used the Fallout Critter Pro Editor from Cubik to add infobox data to Fallout 1 and 2 characters. Still I can't find a lot character who are in the game but not in the editor (like John (Hub). Do you know how to get his data? Any help you can provide on this and other things you see missing would be appreciated! Jspoel Speech Jspoel 22:49, January 2, 2014 (UTC)

  • Thanks! With some NPCs they are using a default template proto, so let's say there's one called "Merchant" or whatever, then they just attach a script and/or in-game title to the critter when placing it, and now it is customized, but still using that generic Merchant stats. Does that make sense? Basically it would be like if I re-wrote the bio of the premade characters, and re-named them, and changed the face photos, but the stats were still the same. --- I'll definitely continue to help out where I can, absolutely. I don't spend a ton of time here but I use wikis a lot for reference so nowadays whenever I come across something that's wrong or incomplete I've been correcting/providing it. If you have any specific things you want updated, let me know and I'll do my best to get it done. --- I'm not sure if I'd call myself an expert, and probably not with anything game-related other than Fallout1, but I do seem to be the last remaining "active modder" of that game. Which is kind of cool but also sad at the same time. There's people who know how to work with it still and so will help me with scripts or research etc., but no large projects any more. (Such as TeamX creations). That being said, I've been doing it for almost 4 years now so it's fair to say I'm getting pretty good at it. Sduibek Gametitle-FO1 12:26, January 19, 2014 (UTC)
I think I get it. For John (Hub)'s stats I would search for a guard in the Critter Proto Editor and find Guard with prototype id 225.PRO as the probable closest match. Still, I wouldn't be entirely sure and I can imagine with other characters without a direct protype id, it would be even more difficult to find their script id. How do you pinpoint it? Maybe you can take a look at those FO1/2 character pages and add prototype ids where they are missing. Jspoel Speech Jspoel 22:37, January 19, 2014 (UTC)

Molerats script[]

uh. hey. an intelligent molerat in the bottom right hand corner of the map said to give you a message. here it is. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.109.182.109 (talkcontribs). Please sign your posts with ~~~~!

  • lol, thanks. I needed to confirm where the script was being used, and in this case, public feedback was the most effecient route. Cheers! Sduibek (talk) 11:51, January 19, 2014 (UTC)

Bug Removed[]

Hey Sduibek. I noticed your message to J asking why your bug was removed from the Survivalist page. Now I can't answer you question myself, I can tell you that after checking the history User:69.l25 was the one who removed it. He may be able to give you the insight you need so best to ask him. Hope you figure it out and happy editing! --The Old World Relics (talk/blog/contributions) 20:10, January 27, 2014 (UTC)

Thank you. Hmm, I could have checked that myself. D'oh! Sduibek Gametitle-FO1 03:54, January 28, 2014 (UTC)
I think 69 solely removed it because it was past the verification period of the 2 weeks. You can see the overdue text in red when you check the page its history. Someone needs to doublecheck your bug and verify it. Unfortunately, no one has noticed your bug or know how to recreate it in that time. Still a bit of a loophole, I admit. Jspoel Speech Jspoel 00:23, January 28, 2014 (UTC)
Two weeks seems a bit short for the older games, especially Fallout given its fanbase comparative to Fallout: New Vegas and the like. But fair enough, I've noticed plenty of seems-like-a-bot edits to tidy up pages in similar ways. (Do we actually have Cool Automatically-Fixing-Things Bot Accounts?) Regarding it being removed, I'm not mad or anything, just was a little bummed. Something along the lines of: "Ohhh cool, I can contribute a neat little factoid to this page!" and then it got removed and I was like "Awwww that's no fun". No worries. Sduibek Gametitle-FO1 03:54, January 28, 2014 (UTC)

Talk Page Blanking[]

Sorry, but our policy prevents the blanking of user talk pages. I have reverted your removal in accordance with policy. FollowersApocalypseLogo A Follower  Talk  05:55, January 28, 2014 (UTC)

Oh! Whoops. Thank you for the correction & information. Sduibek Gametitle-FO1 06:07, January 28, 2014 (UTC)

Singer[]

Hey. Could you proved the code you talked about on Singer (Fallout)'s talk page? It would be great if you could as it would provide a source. Sorry that your edits have been reverted in the past, but with so much going on around here sometimes people get a bit carried away assuming they were right. Hopefully we can sort all this out with your help :) JASPER//"Do you like hurting other people?"UserRichard 01:14, June 21, 2015 (UTC)

Thank you. I apologize for how I worded my post there, I realize now I worded it quite rudely and that was not my intention. Thank you for responding cordially in spite of my rudeness. I have reworded and clarified my original post on that Talk page, also providing an idea for the page title ["Patrick the Celt (encounter)"], as well as the code example for the type classification: http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Talk:Singer_%28Fallout%29#Encounter_Classification
