Vault 70 was a Vault-Tec Vault located in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Background

As part of the Vault experiment, all jumpsuit extruders in this vault failed after 6 months.[Non-game 1]

Behind the scenes

Vault 70 played a role in the background for New Canaan in Van Buren, the canceled Fallout 3 by Black Isle Studios. In 2062, many Mormon congregations came together to purchase places in Vault 70.[Non-canon 1] The vault was opened in 2190, and its inhabitants used their three Garden of Eden Creation Kits (G.E.C.K) to found the town of New Jerusalem.[Non-canon 2]

Vault 70 was given three Garden of Eden Creation Kits. It is unknown whether or not this was intended, as most vaults were supplied with two.[1]

Appearances

Vault 70 was first mentioned in the Fallout Bible and was going to be mentioned in Van Buren, the canceled Fallout 3 by Black Isle Studios.
