Welch Station is a location in the Ash Heap region of Appalachia. The station is occupied by Dylan Rhodes, a former miner.

Background[]

Situated on the Red Line and within Welch city limits, the facility consists of a track-side platform and station building. The location provided ancillary services such as a staffed ticket sales counter and automated ticket machines before the Great War. At some point, it was appropriated by the Responders and set up as a hub for operations and trade via vendor bot.

Layout[]

The station is situated on the northeastern corner of town, next to the stairs heading south from Mount Blair and across State Route 83. Situated on an elevated ridge, the train station provides an enhanced view of the town's layout and potential threats. It is situated between Lewisburg Station to the east and Charleston Station to the north, on the Red Line.

Welch Station has a unique layout when compared to other regional train stations, set inside a smaller wooden building. There is an armor workbench, ammunition vending machine and a cooking station on the building's exterior. A Responder vendor bot operates the trading post inside behind a counter.

The interior also has a medical supplies vending machine, punch card machine, and a map flanking the western entryway, opposite a terminal and stash box. On the town-side of the platform, there is a legendary exchange machine near the doorway. Dylan Rhodes will walk back and forth across the platform and make comments to the Vault Dwellers.

Notes[]

As of the Locked & Loaded update, a punch card machine was added to all train stations.
