Whiskey Rose is a companion perk in Fallout: New Vegas.

Effect[edit | edit source]

When Rose of Sharon Cassidy is in your party, the player can consume alcoholic beverages without suffering any negative effects, including negative effects due to addiction. Additionally, consuming whiskey will raise the player's DT by 2 to 6 points, based on the player's Survival skill.

Notes[edit | edit source]

  • This perk does not remove the possibility of becoming addicted to alcohol, but merely eliminates the negative effects from alcohol addiction. The duration of the addiction remains unchanged. Losing Cass as a companion will cause negative effects to be applied if the player is currently suffering from alcohol addiction.
  • Wasteland tequila is affected by this perk, and grants a DT bonus higher than whiskey. The actual value of DT increase depends on the player's Survival skill. This can significantly increase the value of DT (by 21 with Survival skill of 100), as the bonuses from whiskey, large wasteland tequila and wasteland tequila are additive.
  • Consuming irradiated whiskey or Dixon's whiskey does not provide an increase in DT while this perk is active.

Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]

  • The original idea for this perk was that you could carry more water items, along with receiving a healing bonus from its consumption. This was then changed to become more valuable as a companion game mechanic, and to also reinforce Cass's hard-drinking personality.[1]
