Layout[edit | edit source]
It seems that something has stopped the Chryslus Motors Highwayman, after it swerved off the Highway and landed in a bog. Now half-buried in the swampy ground, the Highwayman is a rusted hulk. The trunk is open to the elements and contains microfusion cells, energy cells, a Sunset Sarsaparilla star bottle cap, and a footlocker. When approached, My Chrysalis Highwayman or Gold Slouch from the Fallout 2 soundtrack will play.

Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]
- J.E. Sawyer wanted to add a wrecked Highwayman filled with microfusion cells and other items hinting at its owner, like the tanker fob, as far back as Van Buren, as a reference to the Chosen One's car from Fallout 2 (where it contained an internal battery charged from energy cells. Chris Avellone also expanded upon this stating it was just the trunk, reflecting the bug commonly seen in Fallout 2.
Appearances[edit | edit source]
The wrecked Highwayman appears in Fallout: New Vegas.
- J.E. Sawyer's Formspring: Okay, whose idea was the wrecked Highwayman? Mine. I wanted to have a Highwayman trunk full of microfusion cells and the Tanker FOB in Van Buren.
