Spore plants are mutated Venus Flytrap.[1] Before the Great War, they could be found in nitrogen rich and phosphorus-poor environments and having a trapping structure formed by the terminal portion of each of the plant's leaves prey triggered tiny hairs on their inner surfaces allowed them to feed.

After the Great War, they were experimented with and mutate as part of the botanical and agricultural experiments of Vault 22 and in the Big MT. After the opening of Vault 22, they were spread by seeds and spores carried by wind across the Mojave Wasteland, the Zion Canyon and into the Core Region.

Characteristics

Fo2 Render spore plant

Semi-intelligent, spore plants are violent in nature and attack most anyone without provocation. They also have an immunity to poison and radiation. They possess two attacks: one is a thorn, which it shoots at its enemies, the other is a bite from its thorny maw. Spore plants grow only a few specialized shooting spikes at a time, so a spore plant barrage is always brief. In Fallout 2, the player can recover thorns (named plant spike) and use them like a weapon.
