Anthony House was the half-brother of Robert House and the owner of the H&H Tools Company, located in the northern outskirts of Las Vegas.

Background[]

As the self-perceived only legitimate son of House Senior, Anthony considered himself the only worthy heir of the H&H Tools Company legacy. He held deep disdain for his half-brother Robert and had severe psychological issues, ranging from paranoia to schizophrenia as evidenced by his security measures at the company and his rambling journal entries.[Non-game 1] He engaged extensively in conspiracy theory.

After Anthony's father died in an auto gyro accident with Robert's mother in 2022, Anthony subsequently seized complete control of the H&H Tools Company, using his lawyers to cut Robert out of any part of the inheritance since he was not "really" family.[1][2] The company did well under his control initially and its employees enjoyed many benefits, despite the fact that Anthony on several occasions displayed strange behavior in public, such as wearing a "special hat" and refusing to make eye contact with anyone as he believed people could steal his "thought energy" by looking at him too long.[3]

Anthony also had several outlandish security measures installed, such as random DNA screenings, sealing off employee bathrooms, and bans on speaking any other language than English during business transactions. The only employee whom he placed any trust in was his human resources manager, Cindy-Lou Kreb, who effectively acted as his right hand and enforcer in the workplace. Meanwhile, as his brother Robert House quickly rose to prominence with his own company, RobCo Industries, Anthony's already fragile mental condition began to rapidly degenerate. As RobCo started buying aggressively into the H&H Tool Company's stock, Anthony became increasingly convinced that his employees were conspiring with his half-brother to perform a hostile takeover of the company.[4][5][3][6][7]

In the end, Anthony's paranoia came to a head on June 19, 2077. Having lost faith even in Cindy-Lou Kreb, convinced that every single one of his employees was in on the conspiracy and that Robert House was coming to physically remove him from his office, he locked down the factory and activated its security systems, refusing to go down without a fight. His actions turned the H&H Tools factory into a deathtrap for centuries to come.[8][9]

Notes[]

  • In the last journal entry in Anthony House's terminal, he signs off as "Alexander House" instead of Anthony.[9]
  • Another terminal entry found on terminals throughout factory indicates that he distrusted foreigners, Masons, carpenters, Tragic the Garnering players, illegal aliens, extraterrestrials, and the Flemish.[10]

Appearances[]

Anthony House is mentioned only in Fallout: New Vegas.

"Long before the war, H&H Tools Company provided Nevada and California high-quality robotics equipment. Owned by the half-brother of Robert Edwin House (the founder of RobCo, and—were it not for the 200 year gap—the same man who lives in the Lucky 38 Casino). When their father was killed in an accident, the elder brother swindled Robert out of the family fortune, and assumed control of the company.
Robert went on, through his dealings with RobCo and their lucrative contracts, to become one of the wealthiest men on earth. His half-brother meanwhile, became increasingly paranoid, seeking to guard himself against a vengeance that never came, and inflicting all manner of strange HR rules on his workforce. The remains of this factory still stand, surrounded by husk-like remains of North Vegas' industrial area."
