The Blade of Bastet is a melee weapon in Fallout 76.

Background[]

The Blade of Bastet is a sword wielded by the fictional hero the Mistress of Mystery, and part of her Regalia of Mystery. In the Mistress' lore, the Blade is a legendary sword, said to be lighter, faster, and stronger than any lesser weapon. A sword of heroes handed down through the ages, the Blade is capable of piercing any armor or barrier.[1]

Characteristics[]

The Blade of Bastet is based on the iconic weapon of the same name used by the fictional hero the Mistress of Mystery. The Order of Mysteries fabricated these recreations using historic swords, such as Grant's saber, and the swing analyzer modification after it has recorded the wielder's sword fighting stance and style.

The Blade of Bastet has +50% armor penetration, but with the Eye of Ra also equipped, this increases to +100% armor penetration. Crafting a Blade of Bastet requires a Blade of Bastet as one of the materials, and it cannot be crafted without one. This also applies to the upgraded levels, each requires the prior Blade of Bastet to make the improved version.

Locations[]

The Blade of Bastet is acquired during the quest Forging a Legend when it is created by using the Order of Mysteries' fabricator in the basement of Riverside Manor.

Notes[]

  • The blade was also mentioned in the Fallout 4 Silver Shroud radio play, in Episode 3: In the Parlor of Mysteries and Episode 5: Into the Robot’s Den.[2][3]
  • Despite being a melee weapon, it uses the HUD icon of a pistol.
