Please explain which rules i broke when i rejoined that resulted in the ban? No warning? No suspension? Seems like favoritism. And you wonder why people don't come here. The 4 days I was on chat, all you guys did was argue about the rules, complain no one new came, and when people do some of you are just dicks because we aren't old timers on the wiki. How can community grow when you treat the newcomers as such? It's ok from what I've seen for some to break rules but not everyone. Thats not much of a rule now is it. I would just like to see which rule/rules I broke upon the return on my kick that resulted in a ban. I was banned from the fallout wiki chat after being in it for a short time. I was going after the colonel in a chatroom.. But I got banned because of ignorance. I just wanted to have fun. False Information in NPCs

Hi,

A couple months back, you contacted me on my talk page about how to get better, more reliable information for NPCs, namely their race and karma. I'd only really focused on correcting any false info along those lines, but today, I looked through the edit history of a few pages to see if I could trace back where a majority of the false information was coming from. I found that almost 100% of the NPCs that I corrected race for had an incorrect race that was put in by this bot ----> http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/User:GhostAvatarBot . Specifically, I found that it inserted the incorrect race for the following characters:

It may not seem like that many characters, but it's almost all of the characters I had to correct the race of. So, I'm guessing that the problem probably isn't just random users inserting what they think is the correct race of a character, but instead a majority of the false info could come from info that was added by bots and failed to be noticed and corrected by users, so it would defiantly be beneficial to check character info added by bots in the G.E.C.K.. I hope this can help in the for any future Fallout games in order to avoid any edit wars and incorrect information from begging added and going unnoticed like it was in the case of some Fallout 3 characters. 69.125.134.190 17:04, June 22, 2013 (UTC)

Erik Todd Dellums...

Hey Chad, how's it going? So a few days ago I mentioned that I think we should take Erik Todd Dellums and Three Dog out of the Fallout 4 section of Nukapedia because he admitted that he was just hoping to work with Bethesda again. I have some more proof that leans toward that... I truly believe he was just saying he wanted to or was trying to talk to Bethesda but since it's unconfirmed I believe it shouldn't be there. If someone from Bethesda could confirm it or Erik Todd Dellums had proof I think we should keep it but right now I think that it leans towards speculation (something we don't like here haha). Hi, I just wanted to contact you about what you said on my FO3 and New Vegas character stats forum. I figured I'd put this on your talk page instead of on the forum, as nobody's really checking it, and this would probably be quicker. Check that link again. I've added some parameters for custom styling. Here's the skinny on what the changes would be: I moved all the elements into one template. It was the only way I could add everything you wanted, so no more beginning, header or end templates. Because of this, each content area now has to be placed into a parameter, e.g. |content1 =. You can declare images, header styling, and the entire box styling by using other parameters. The default image height is 240px. You have to declare the image height, as the divs don't size the boxes properly without using the image height to resize the div. I can look at the imagesize function to see if I can possibly get it to do that automatically. The only questions I left is: Do you still want these changes made? You'll have to go back and redo every page that is already using these templates, unless I create a new template and leave the old ones alone. Nothing excessively important

As per the title! Anyway, I was having PnP-rules ideas, and wanted to bounce them on you. As per now, my system has little over a hundred ranged weapons, and I used to have specific costs to them in caps. For example, a certain rifle may cost 725 caps and a pistol might cost 320 caps. I'm now thinking of dividing them into 7 cost tiers, and then balancing out all weapons in each tier to be evenly matched - although with different specialities. Each weapon cost tier would later be given a "recommended" cost for use in game, as traders vary in their appreciation of objects, niceness, barter level, etc. What do you think of this idea? Can you upload a few screenshots from a mobile phone of pages (character and location) which have 2 (notable quotes/infobox stat) or even 3 (+audio file) tags on them at the top? This is crazy. We need to do something about it. It does disencourage people, has to. Problem is, people won't see the tag when it's at the bottom of the page. But then again, only me, Jasper, FFIX and 69 are effectively working on it, so if we make these people are aware, then we can move the tag down, as it would only be for reference for what has been done and what not. Let me ponder about it a bit more. Can you also upload a few screenshots of pages that don't have any tag? (Location, character and quest page example would be good. I doubt it's possible. There's no way we can simplify our infobox for mobile I think. All wikis with infoboxes suffer from it. I'd like to get rid of these tags but still have a link to the project. How about we just make temporary categories (f.e. Infobox stats needed and Sound quotes needed) which replace the tags at the top. That way people don't see the tag, but like I said before we can inform the people who work on it that they can use the category for reference (which can also contain the explanation of the project). The base speech bubble is hard-coded in the site CSS. All you have to do is put it in a div and declare the class: triangle-border; triangle-border left; triangle-border right; or triangle-border top. I've also made a simple template to add some simple style commands that, right now, resides in Jasper's user space. I added images to all FOT weapons. I got the idea yesterday when I noticed the Fallout: New Vegas weapon page is the most popular page on the wiki (although I knew that already). Best to emphasize on that and update the Tactics equivalent. Can you the Tactics weapon page to your digest? and I uploaded a bunch of soundfiles for the FO2- and even FOBOS characters. Thanks Chad, I appreciate it. I hope I didn't come off as too whiny earlier. When I get on about how I preferred chat as it was way back when, I tend to also get pretty closed minded and hostile about it. I can tell you're only trying to do whats right, and while sometimes I disagree I know you have good intentions. I know I've acted out of line at times, and I hope you can forgive me for that. I've been known to get wrapped up in this idea that everyone is out to get the chat mods, and that's not fair to you or any of the other admins. I feel there is a situation that needs rectifying there, but me mindlessly complaining like a child sure as hell is not the way to approach it. I already got the feeling you felt less a spark for the wiki the past few months, and can't blame you. So much time without anything really new to report affects anyone, the number of chatters as well as edit activity. Maybe also the personal change in your life did something to you and you need to adjust. I'm not worried about our visitors, we're doing great I think, even with 700k visitors. FOT Concept Art

Hi there. You were wondering the source of the Fallout Tactics Concept Art pictures, right? Well, I got them from the GOG Fallout Ultimate Collection, which contained Fallout 1, Fallout 2 and Fallout Tactics, along with -heaps- of extra stuff... like concept art.

Furthermore, most of the Concept Art is validated as belonging to Tariq Raheem, one of the main concept artists for Fallout Tacits, thanks to his signature in nearly all of the pictures.

And even the unsigned pictures can be guaranteed to be genuine, seeing as it's GoG.com that has released them... if I recall directly they are not allowed to include concept art and such in their releases -unless- it is genuine.

Thanks for considering! As you may have noted from some of the information I linked to, the main "Edit" button will lead to the new VisualEditor. The current Wikia editing experience will still be available from the "Classic editor" option on the "Edit" drop menu. For most communities that means source mode and the older visual mode, but for Fallout it would just be source mode. We're also working on a way to edit source while using the new VisualEditor, which should be available in a few weeks (the "Classic editor" option will remain even after that, though). There is also an individual user preference to disable VisualEditor (currently separate from the existing "disable visual editing" preference). The US Veterans Administration calls it "Chronic Separation Anxiety". I'll be 50 in January & there will still be another six years after that before I can say "I spent one half my life in the military.." As it is, most of my life has been dedicated to the service of others.

• The Army was my Evil bitch wife that I booth loved & despised.. I was a volunteer slave & I did not ask for their oh so HONORABLE retirement.
• This life long relationship, too abruptly broken after recent combat deployment has marked me with suppressed anger issues.

I do not ask for any special pass, but I have spent this past year with the STAIN of a chat block above my name even as I have continued to contribute in good faith to this community.

Reflections and Horizons

Hi There!

With the next generation of consoles all set to launch in a couple of weeks, Wikia thought it would be the perfect time for some of our most active community members to take a fond look back at the current generation. We’d love if you’d provide us with a piece — however long you see fit — wherein you reminisce about a topic of your choosing related to the current generation. We are going to present what you write in an upcoming feature called “Reflections.”

For example, you could write about memories of discovering and playing Fallout 3, providing us with examples of things that made the game resonate with you. Or, more generally, you could write about what this last generation of games has meant to you as a gamer.

We’re going to be looking to the future, as well, with a similar feature titled “Horizons.” If you could also let us know, in as many words as you like, what trends you’d like to accompany the next generation of games (and what you DON’T want to see) we’d really appreciate it.

Chat conduct guideline changes

Hey C. In light of Saint Pain's chat ban and after some discussion with Leon and J I've decided to do some minor re-writes to the chat conduct guideline page. Basically what I'm looking to do is:

• Remove the current ban guidelines and give more leeway for mods to ban people on a case-by-case basis
• Add a provision for perma-banned users to appeal their ban immediately to a bureaucrat

There's a few other re-wordings and some stuff moved around, but those are the big things I think need need changing. You can find a draft here. Thanks for your response. I don't want to give the impression that these are sweeping rules changes, it's more like rewording and revision. I feel that the wording currently in place implies a '3 strikes and you're out' policy which hasn't been very fair in some cases. The reason I didn't include other types of bans in the ban review section was because of the way the administration policy is worded. I was hoping to include only the permanent chat blocks on the chat page and leave the permanent site block information on the administration policy page. That page also doesn't have any mention of bans other than permanent, so I didn't see a need to include it on the chat page. I think you see the issues I'm trying to fix. Agent, your next new digest, if it is coming today, can you add that a new search bar has been enabled by Wikia a few days ago (we're a testwiki) and add a small poll to how people like it (better or worse). Also add that Peace has become patroller. About the Survivor news; it needs to stay on the front page. So maybe you plan an update like TV did, but otherwise my suggestion is that when you add the new digest, remove the news category from the old one (temporarily) so the old news digest makes room for the new one (2 spots are available). And I think it's a good idea to rename your Survivor blog to minus ...End rolling coverage. Vault Archives songs

I just noticed the songs from the Vault Archives use the publication infobox template. You created the song pages. Why did you use that template instead of the songs template? Maybe because the Vault Archives uses the publication template? Jspoel 16:10, November 25, 2013 (UTC)

Your news bit says that the supposed December 1st count down isn't showing up in your browser. Try clearing your system cache. In Google Chrome and Firefox this is done by pressing Shift and F5 simultaneously. Edit: I have no idea why this got posted under "vault archives songs"... I swear I didn't place it there manually.

Fluid layout

Yes, that's probably a good idea. I think we're generally ok, because the most important change will be the width and (almost?) all our tables work with percentages (I think) so we should be good. But it's a major change so there are bound to arise some problems. For example the clear template that's being used maybe isn't necessary anymore for some pages (quests). Or some gallery that stretch too much. Not sure, we'll have to see. Can you set up a thread where remind people of the change 4 december and asking "all hands" to be on patrol for any odd changes. And where they encounter them, report it on the thread so we can take a look at it. Also for mobile. Jspoel 21:37, December 2, 2013 (UTC)

Caption image of the year

Agent, I'm thinking we could introduce a caption of the year contest. Nothing complicated, just a bit of easy fun. You started it in July this year and we now have about 22 images. There are some possibilities. We could make it 2 semifinals in your wiki news digest, with 11 images each and then a final with 8 or so in these final 3 weeks of the year. Or make it simpler, just one week, end of this month and you select the 8 with the most votes to compete against each other in digest of 28th of December. How's that sound? Survivor site

Ok, so the Survivor site turned out to be false. But your watch on it was certainly not in vain and I think you realize that. Even if it was unsure, Fallout fans all over the world wanted to read about it and now they have seen how much we were on it, it can only leave a good impression for the future. It might have been real and imagine we had paid it little attention. They may have gone somewhere else to keep up to date. Now they know they can get their information and talk about it here.
