The new visual editor is live on Nukapedia now. I've turned it on for a 1 month trial. If it's good to go, we'll leave it on. Please report any bugs or other weird stuff in the "report" section below. If you have comments about us using the new visual editor, please leave them in the "comments" section below.

EDIT: The visual editor is not loading. I'll get to the bottom of this and get back to everyone.

Alright getting an issue introduced with the new Visual Editor:

VisualScrewUp

Those are up there probably because we use a negative top margin on the games template. I reckon the editor doesn't know what to do with them. The Gunny  UserGunny chevrons

I'm actually getting something pretty vexing on my end. Visual Editor is coming up as the default editor instead of the Source Editor with no options to switch the two. This is definitely not something that I approve of. ForGaroux Some Assembly Required! 05:54, December 10, 2013 (UTC)

I'm getting the same thing. Having to use the drop-down menu to select source is very annoying. I was expecting (and I believe we were told) that we would get an option to choose our default editor. Not only that, but it's slowing down browsing significantly. Not a fan of this change. FollowersApocalypseLogomorituri te salutamus 06:04, December 10, 2013 (UTC)
Possible workaround: Enabling editing by double click results opens the source editor. FollowersApocalypseLogomorituri te salutamus 06:09, December 10, 2013 (UTC)

I've had a couple of issues with the new editor today. One of the main problems seems to be that after I'd made changes and published, it had changed the wikipedia links to something called wikif1 (which I've never heard of until now) and in another article, it changed the wikipedia links with wikimedia links. I tried a solution with clicking the individual edit buttons on the articles instead of the one on top of the screen, things seemed ok but I'm not really wanting to edit now as I'm worried it will still bug out.
Another issue was when I would add verify tags to articles, I had to manually put the time stamps in as it wouldn't recognize the five ~.
And lastly, when I click edit, the page takes a very long time to load and sometimes a timeout error pops up, I've double checked it's not my end with other pages and it only happens with the Nukapedia. Republic of Faffi talk 15:23, December 10, 2013 (UTC)

You need to enable it in your preferences in order for it to show up.

Honestly, I don't even remember what the old Visual editor looked like (I've been using source editor for so long...), so I dunno if it's any different. ЮраYuriKaslov - Sig image 21:57, December 9, 2013 (UTC)

Must be me, but I'm getting nothing. Can't find it in preferences either. On which tab do I need to change the setting? Jspoel Speech Jspoel 22:07, December 9, 2013 (UTC)
Under the editing tab. Uh, it doesn't seem to be there for me, though. I was testing it out earlier on a different wiki, though. ЮраYuriKaslov - Sig image 22:09, December 9, 2013 (UTC)

The major difference between this new Visual and Source Mode is that the Visual does not allow the gallery to be edited for some reason. Energy X 00:22, December 10, 2013 (UTC)

What about the new visual editor and the old visual editor? ЮраYuriKaslov - Sig image 00:25, December 10, 2013 (UTC)

Alright. I'm stumped. I have no idea why the visual editor is not working for me. I still have source editor, which I guess is good, since that's what I intend to edit in anyways. But for the life of me, I can't figure out why the visual editor is not showing up as an option for me. The Gunny  UserGunny chevrons 02:15, December 10, 2013 (UTC)

Weird. It shows up immediately for me after it was activated. And it was automatic - I didn't have to go into my preferences/gadgets/settings to turn it on/off. ForGaroux Some Assembly Required! 04:52, December 10, 2013 (UTC)
Same here. FollowersApocalypseLogomorituri te salutamus 06:04, December 10, 2013 (UTC)

( It's a workaround but you can enable Visual Editor on another wiki for making it work here as well, for example the CommunityTest wiki. Go to Preferences and select the Editing tab. There it's the top option. I don't know why we don't have it here as an option. Maybe our former tech wizard, Porter21, changed something in the layout?
