My name is Carl Rook, as I'm sure you can tell. I'm your new Vice President. Until recently I was at RobCo, working in their security division, but now that your family and my family are one big family, we thought it would be nice if they sent an older sibling over.REPCONN headquarters terminal entries; terminal, Inter-office Correspondence #345776

Carl Rook was the vice president of REPCONN Aerospace before the Great War.

Background[]

Before working at REPCONN, Carl was an employee for the security division of RobCo Industries. After a series of machinations by Piers Isley and Julia Masters, REPCONN's vice president, Leonard Steeple, was voted out of his position and the company board accepted a buyout offer from RobCo Industries. Carl was made the RobCo liaison for Piers, telling him in advance of the deal's completion that he would be upgrading the security systems at the REPCONN headquarters to meet RobCo standards. He had Piers work to ensure that the REPCONN employees were used to the new security measures (i.e. wearing a security badge at all times) by the time the deal was finalized. Once the merger had been completed, Carl was sent by RobCo to become REPCONN's new vice president as a way of giving RobCo oversight over the company.[1][2]

Carl was closely involved in the development of the Quantum Plasma Modulation Matter Injection Rifle project. He sent an email to Xuan Duong, an engineer working on the project, containing stolen information about Poseidon Energy's canceled Project SEMELE. This data was to be used to finish the latest prototype of the rifle.[3]

Carl also kept in close contact with Sara Wang, a member of the IT department, who was investigating potential insider information leaks. Carl told Sara to keep the investigation secret but to report to him with any discoveries. He also told her to call him by his first name. Sara decrypted enough data to hypothesize that Poseidon Energy was receiving the leaks, but not enough to serve as actual evidence.[4]

Carl's terminal in his office in the REPCONN headquarters still contains files related to his predecessor Leonard Steeple. Carl had made a request to the IT department to update his terminal's personal details, but the Great War prevented this from occurring.[5]

Appearances[]

Carl Rook is mentioned only in Fallout: New Vegas.
