A case, .308 is a crafting item in Fallout: New Vegas.

Ammunition casings are used in the crafting of ammunition at reloading benches. Combine one .308 casing, lead, rifle powder, and one large rifle primer to make one .308 round.
Locations[]
- A casing can be acquired after firing a weapon chambered in .308 about 40% of the time, unless using the JSP type round, which will give a casing 25% of the time.
- Enemies that use the hunting rifle, such as NCR troops, Great Khans and Fiends, can have up to six casings on them when they die.
- There are 25 casings for .308 ammunition in each .308 case box.
- Occasionally, some traveling merchants will "sell" .308 casings but they will always be for free. Likewise, selling casings to a merchant will not yield any caps.
