Dead Man's Burden is a perk in the Fallout: New Vegas add-on Lonesome Road.
Effects
It grants one S.P.E.C.I.A.L. point, Boomers and Powder Gangers fame, and Caesar's Legion and NCR infamy. Grants access to Dry Wells and the Long 15.
Notes
- If you do this before obtaining the Platinum chip you can avoid being vilified by both NCR and Legion and still be able to get both unique armors and grenade launchers.
Bugs
The SPECIAL point must be added. If you have them maxed out, then you will not be able to continue.
- FIX: PC users can use the console command "cam" that will just close the menu and you'll be able to continue.
- FIX: If you have the DLC Old World Blues, you can transportalponder! back to Big MT and then back with getting the perks. Can only be done if missile has been fired at someone, however, Dry Wells and The Long 15 will not be accessible.
Behind the scenes
The name is an play on the phrase White Man's Burden, originating in a poem by Rudyard Kipling which espouses imperialism and white superiority.
