Colin McComb is a developer who worked at Black Isle Studios on Fallout 2 as a designer.
Background[]
Before Fallout[]
Colin got his start in game desgign with Dungeons and Dragons at the venerable TSR Inc, winning an Origin Award in 1993 for his work on Dragon Mountain deluxe boxed adventure[1] and another in 1995 for his work on the Birthright Campaign setting[1]. He was best known in this era as being one of the designers of the Planescape series[2], which he would later visit in CRPG form.
Work on the Fallout series[]
In 1996 McComb joined Interplay Entertainment where as part of the Black Isle division worked on the design of the locations of Broken Hills and San Francisco in Fallout 2[1] as well as Planescape: Torment [1]. He left Interplay in 2000. He also worked on Caesar's Palace II and Rock and Roll Racing [1].
After Interplay[]
After leaving Interplay, Colin wrote a number of music reviews for Outburn Magazine and MK ultra Magazine[1]. In 2012 it was announced that he would be working on Wasteland 2[3], following this with being the creative lead for Torment:Tides of Numenera[4] which was released in 2017. He is presently working with Drop Bear Bytes an an Australian themed Post Apocolyptic RPG called "Broken Roads"[5] as well as the owner of 3lb Entertainment which focuses on VR Gaming inlcuding the titles Space Dragon and Vault of Stars[5]
