Name

Well, about as notable as the background provided for Vulpes's raise to a chief in command, the NCR vilifying him as a prime opponent. I have so far not seen other characters on NCR posters (I don't doubt you there are some, just seeing Vulpes struck me), so why not include the note as an easter egg for other users? Categorizing

So what exactly would be the new faction then, New Khans or Great Khans? New Khans (Fallout 2) is already listed on the Khans page and if it would have to be Great Khans (Fallout 2), then that faction would have to be added to Great Khans. Jspoel 17:07, March 2, 2012 (UTC)

I say we leave it as it is. The page would end up being more or less the same as the Khans page with background and characteristics I think. Maybe it's near him, at his location (Golden Gate), standing somewhere. Or after a certain quest The tanker needs fuel. I've looked at the history of Dave Handy and the Trophy of Recognition and the link from Dave to that trophy was all added by respected members (admins, fallout connaisseurs). Stubs

Hello Mystery. I've just added myself to the stubs project and I am methodically going through the FO2 stubs first and then I'll be working through the stubs for FO1. The only real issue I'll have is with adding missing images and so far from what I've seen, I'd consider you the go to guy for that issue. Character pages

I've been wondering about that death column for Fallout 1/2 characters. I've seen that most of the times (or maybe always?) being empty. Is it so that when you kill a Fallout 1/2 character they have no inventory anymore? And concerning the Interactions with the player character. That is a level 2 header (==), the interactions overview, quests, effectss of player actions and other interactions go below that and are level 3 (===) headers. I would leave the death column - even when they have no inventory on death. If you make it empty, the column will be gone and people won't be as certain the character leaves nothing on death as when they see a -. And you're close to 10,000 edits. Make it a special one! Snowglobe Stand

You're absolutely sure about that? I made a save right outside of the Lucky 38 with the last 4 snowglobes. On 5 separate occasions, I turned them in and headed straight towards the stand which in no way had any sort of effect once all of the snowglobes were present. ^Skål! 20:50, March 12, 2012 (UTC)

Red links

When you have the time, can you take a look at User:Jspoelstra/sandbox3. It contains Fallout 2 dialogue files with red links. Thought you are the best man to create pages for them if that's possible. And.. after reading Gunny's comment on Tocinoman's moderator request something just struck me. You may consider applying for admin in a few days. However, according to the guidelines you need to have held the moderator position for 2 months. And you are not moderator, but patroller. So that would make a request invalid. I think that's unfair because patrollers can be considered on the same edit-level as moderators. They just have chatmod rights as an extra and what matters most for becoming admin is edit experience and you have that. I will ask Clyde to include patrollers too. You don't immediately have to respond to this, save your milestone edit for the one you had in mind :) Jspoel 20:16, March 13, 2012 (UTC)

News - Project Completion

Sounds like a good item for the Project Spotlight. I'm hoping to up it to two projects, ideally balancing between projects that are starting, those ongoing, and those wrapping up. If you can write me some copy for Friday (and if you're doing medals, I can showcase that too), you're in.

No problems. The only project write up I've done so far is for the first one- the rest were written by their project leaders. So i'd ideally need something written about your project like what they've done. The current news has a spotlight for a closed project, can you do something like that? About the edits I've made.

I just thought it would be interesting to have an overview of some real in-game screenshots on the wikia. I entered the wikia yesterday especially because of the fact that, as a hardcore fallout fan and a frequent wikia visitor, sometimes I feel as though some important articles (like the ones I edited) lack more in-game images and conceptual, stylish information (like key quotations in the beginning), which serve only to beautify and enrich the article and the wikia. I think this should be the mentality, and I'm sure a lot of fans and Fallout Wiki visitors would agree with me. This is my main mission as a contributor here at the Wiki.

Take the crimson caravan article, for example. In my opinion, the quotation and the pic that I have added serve a lot to get the new players familiarized with the Fallout universe. It doesn't hurt.

The Gun Runners article is, in my opinion, veeery poor in terms of conceptual in-game content and pics. There's only a silly "Man, I love my guns" quotation in the beginning, and no in-game pic from either Fallout 1 or New Vegas. I intend to add to that as well.

About the new User Network

Hello, Mystery Stranger! It's me again.

Well, first off, thanks a lot for the response. I appreciate the suggestion of the New User Network, and I do think it's a lovely enterprise, and I'd love to participate. Of course, as a Fallout fan, I'd love to do whatever I can to help improve the wikia (which is already great, btw; don't get me wrong because of the previous comment here on your talk page). So, how do we do it? Can you be my mentor? I'm new here (joined yesterday), so I don't know how the bureaucracy works.

As I said, I have my limitations (nobody is perfect), but my intentions are the best in helping the wiki. My preferable contributions would be adding in-game pics and adding conceptual quotations in the beginning of the articles. As I said before, they beautify the articles.

Well, when I joined the wiki yesterday, I thought I just had to edit the pages directly in order to add info. Of course, I knew someone from the admin would take a look at it, but didn't know the protocols. As I already said, my intention is to become a good contributor here, and my proposed "specialty" would be in-game pics and quotations that stay in the top part of the articles. What are the procedures to post those both properly and according to the rules? Can I still add the info directly in the pages, but letting you know via talk page?

Humm, I see. I can see the Vault 13 (on Fallout 2) article lacks detailed information on the levels of the vault. In the present moment, I'm playing Fallout 1 again (for, like, the twentieth time! hehehe), but I'll replay Fallout 2 soon. I know that the Deathclaws are using the vault as their dwelling in the game, and that there's Goris and the other guys there, but I don't remember exactly the items to be found on each floor. But what if, when I play Fallout 2 again, and get the detailed description of each level of the location. Should I just add it to the article as well (of course, in the Layout section)?

But, you know, with work and University, I don't have that much time to play (I play often, but not on a daily basis), so it may take a while for me to get to Vault 13 in Fallout 2; especially because you've got to get to Klamath, Den, Gecko, V. City, New Reno, Redding, all those damn places before you come across V. 13... :-( But when I do, I'll make sure I get all the information on the layout and notable loot to add here. Yeah, it sucks, mate. It was great that you asked me to find that guy, because I've just investigated the Children of the Cathedral building in the Hub better and actually managed to get to that back door that I could never unlock or sneak into (I always tried early in the game, so my character was still bad). Found some wonderful loot there that unexperienced players would be amazed at. Chems, Stims, armour, ammo, etc. I've gotta go out with my girlfriend now, but when I'm back, I'll edit the Water Merchants (location) page to add the notable loot section. Tell ya what, mate: anything you need found and/or verified in Fallout 1, just let me know and I can try and find it for you here. Thanks for the great help, mate!

It's on primary stage. Still editing it, thinking about possible new guidelines, stuff like that. Also, I can't really start the project per se right now, because I need the project box distributed among the many articles. And I'm waiting for Guardian of the Wastes to use his bot to do so. Haven't heard from him, but hoping to.

As for the power armour page, I'd say the quote is smart, but not very conceptual and didactic about the Brotherhood. I'd substitute it with a more general, canonical one. But we'll see that better when the project has been launched properly. It'll be great to have you working on it as well, Mystery. And thanks for the feedback. Cheers!

Hi, Mystery! The feedback I needed on the projectbox is taking too long, so let's just get on with it! I see you're already editing some FO1 articles, and that's great. The Gunny will help us with the progress table, so we can keep track on the stuff we've already taken care of. In the meanwhile, I'd like to share duties, so we can organise ourselves better. Why don't you do quests from the Brotherhood, the Glow, and Necropolis? I can take quests from Shady Sands, Junktown and Boneyard. Then we both can do quests from the Hub, maybe. What do you think? Oh, something else: let's try and stick to the points in the guidelines and scope. It's easier and more homogeneous that way. Cheers, mate! It's great to have you on the ship!

Seriously, how much do you thing before reverting one's contributions ?

I mean, you reverted MY WORK without asking nor giving reasons in the summary... I have added correct information that I'm currently gathering by actually PLAYING fallout 2 at the same time. On the top of that, I'm using a 3G connection and it takes me a bloody while to load pages and submit them.

I bet you didn't even READ what I wrote. Start fallout, do what I've written, and accept that you too can screw up.

Bacon man, please do me a favor : triple check things before writing such crap. TwoBearsHigh-Fiving did revert the second article I modified. But you didn't notice that MysteryStranger reverted the change I made to the Fallout 2 quests list. So... Read more and write less. Should save time.
