Infoboxes

Can you not add the image size = 240px parameter to the infoboxes. Wikia is still working on the fix. Jspoel Speech Jspoel 18:11, May 20, 2013 (UTC)

You took the words out of my mouth. Realized that just now when I saw your edits on location pages. Then we would have a problem yes, especially on the location pages with map markers. Just received word by mail it's high priority for Wikia. Weekend got in the way but they're back working on it. Jspoel Speech Jspoel 18:16, May 20, 2013 (UTC)

PHV

I hate to hassle you over this, but please read through the two forums that I set up before the vote. The rationale behind your no vote has been proven wrong by in-game evidence, nor was your interpretation of the vote even right. This vote has nothing to do with humans. This vote is over the terminology, its founding, its relevance towards the Fallout games, and what it's about. ForGaroux Some Assembly Required! 19:57, May 20, 2013 (UTC)

  • ..." and the enclaves love of the term..."
    • You saying this proves that you did not read the forums. Properly, at least.
  • "Creating a new article would imply that there is some sort of major genetic difference between the two groups..."
    • This has nothing to do with genetics. Like the forums stated, 'Pure Humans' are merely humans that are properly affected by FEV. That's it. Not being a 'Pure Human' doesn't make you any less human.
  • " This is not only not true, but contrary to everything we know based on the data provided."
    • I provided in-game proof. A lot of proof. Where is the proof for your statement?

ForGaroux Some Assembly Required! 20:17, May 20, 2013 (UTC)

Cont.

You don't have to worry about any of that. I will make sure to go out of my way to state that 'Pure Humans' are no different than normal humans found out in the wastes. I certainly don't want to spread around false ideologies that 'Pure Humans' are a different species. ForGaroux Some Assembly Required! 00:52, May 21, 2013 (UTC)

Debate

I want to formally state that I appreciate you debating with me about this. It's all I ever wanted - is for people to actually discuss this with me instead of jumping the bandwagon or acting off of pre-conceived notions. I just wish more people were doing what you are doing right now, instead of hiding in chat and ignoring the forums. Right now, at least we're making progress towards what this vote is intending to do. ForGaroux Some Assembly Required! 18:49, May 22, 2013 (UTC)

You're understanding me perfectly. Debates are exactly that - for opposing sides to break away from the opinions and to leave the entire subject at its most pure and factual foundation for others to take into consideration. It's very frustrating for me when people can't see this, and either take is as personal, or avoid it altogether. I just wish it didn't take two forums and a good portion of the vote to finally have someone start up a debate. If more people were willing to actually debate, then I'd gladly post-pone the vote and allow everyone to discuss their thoughts. ForGaroux Some Assembly Required! 19:10, May 22, 2013 (UTC)
You're right - more time would have been better for the entire process. But with the lack of attention, I was hoping the vote would finally spark the attention that the subject deserved. At least it looks like the lore page will go through, which is without a doubt, the most important aspect of the vote. Since you have shown such an interest, I'll have to run by you with the rough draft I'm creating, and seeing if you have any improvements you'd like to add. As for the list of confirmed 'Pure Humans', I will not be adding those quite yet except for the ones that we know without a doubt. Forum part II will still be active to help determine who should be considered or not. I'd definitely still love feedback there if you're interested. ForGaroux Some Assembly Required! 19:23, May 22, 2013 (UTC)
Oh, when you get the chance, check out the new point that I addressed. It turns out that Harold is not the only 'Pure Human' from a Vault to undergo a unique ghoul-like mutation. I'm surprised, I don't ever recall ever meeting the guy before. ForGaroux Some Assembly Required! 19:31, May 22, 2013 (UTC)
Definitely still unique in that respect. But it's interesting to me that 'Pure Humans' can be rarely evolved into ghoul-like entities instead of the typical Super Mutant. ForGaroux Some Assembly Required! 19:38, May 22, 2013 (UTC)
If we're lucky, Fallout 4 will expand upon FEV even more. ForGaroux Some Assembly Required! 19:43, May 22, 2013 (UTC)

Voting rule

Yeah, I can't spot it either.

I suggest we wait rather than do a single vote, and instead wrap up a few other things in a consoldating vote. I think we can look at striking the IRC channel stuff, and maybe a few other minor housekeeping issues. Agent c (talk) 01:52, May 24, 2013 (UTC)

I found the reference needed to prove that radiation is the main factor.
  • "First, Chris Avellone seemed to prefer the "FEV explains everything" theory of mutation. He suggests that when the Glow was hit by the Chinese warheads, the tanks holding the virus burst and the FEV was vaporized and shot into the air. It was then mutated by the radiation from the blast, and went on to help radiation create the various mutant animals we know and love as well as ghouls. The problem with this theory is that first off it's a bit redundant since Fallout radiation is already fully capable of producing the mutations seen in the gameworld. Second, we know from the Lieutenant's mention of inoculation from mutant FEV that any airborne strain of FEV could not cause these mutations. If it did, why didn't any humans mutate from exposure to the airborne FEV? Furthermore, if radscorpions, geckos, molerats, deathclaws and other creepie-crawlies are all products of FEV, how can they breed as much as they do? Remember, FEV causes sterility. Avellone eventually admitted that he was wrong, and that most mutations in the Fallout world were caused by the ambient radiation."

I just undid an edit by a vandal: Special:Contributions/78.150.30.152. I also undid another edit by a user User:Tavish30 who does not seem to be malicious but is perhaps a bit overeager; made an edit to Megaton that wiped out the gallery, which I undid, and some other edits that might need to be looked at. --FFIX (talk) 11:18, June 8, 2013 (UTC)

Sorry I hurt your feelings. It's just a joke dude, if you honestly want us to stop doing something just ask "please stop" instead of saying something like "I'm stopping". If you really don't like it, I won't bring it up again.
Didn't mean to distress you.

Banter

I don't have anything against you, Bleep. We banter with people we feel comfortable around. Sorry if I made you feel angry or uncomfortable. Metal Gear Mk. II "Anything, for the family" 19:10, June 29, 2013 (UTC)

Ban

Firstly, I would like to apologise for what I said since it has clearly upset you. However, I would like to make it clear that it would have been more sensible for you to have made it clear that what I said bothered you, especially since I have never seen you say that your not being in a relationship depresses you. When you simply said I'm done with this discussion I interpreted it as you not wanting to partake in, what I thought to be, friendly banter rather than you being genuinely uncomfortable with the conversation. That said, I am not arguing this ban, just pointing out that you should have made it clearer to me that the conversation was bothering you. Again, I am sorry for what I said and I do acknowledge that it was wrong for me to have said it, Bleep. It won't happen again. Higgey the Scotsman (talk page) 08:21, June 30, 2013 (UTC)

I'm glad we could settle this amicably. Had I known you had these issues conveying your discomfort due to things that have happened to you in the past, I wouldn't have even thought of prolonging the teasing. And for the record - I know what it's like to be bullied as well. Higgey the Scotsman (talk page) 14:23, June 30, 2013 (UTC)

Removing tags

I suppose you're choosing to manually remove the tags. But you know a bot can do that too, right? Any chance you can help out with the soundfiles btw? Jspoel Speech Jspoel 14:59, June 30, 2013 (UTC)

Jasper's creation. And he's project leader. But he doesn't own the project, he wants and welcomes manpower. Ask him in chat and he will confirm I'm sure after reading his post to FFIX. Everyone who wants to participate is welcome. But if it's not the project for you, so be it. Jspoel Speech Jspoel 15:05, June 30, 2013 (UTC)

I know that a lot of characters use that quote in combat, but with Marcus it is an undeniable match. The flow of the words, and tone are almost exactly the same as Vader; but of course I can see why you would think otherwise. --TheItalianMafia (talk) 15:43, July 2, 2013 (UTC)

I know this is a difficult request to fulfill, but I would like to suggest that for a map it would be cool if you guys made an interactive map similar to the pip boy for fallout 3, new vegas, and the DLCs for both. Each location would open to a page about the location page that you guys have already made. --98.238.241.147 08:38, August 1, 2013 (UTC)Anonuserandfan

Chat entity

Sorry that I didn't get back with you earlier. Here is my explanation:

  • Chat has its own rules and regulations separate from the wiki.
  • Chat bans and history cannot be used in conjunction with wiki-based bans.
  • The chat feature is technically a sub-sub-domain, and activity based in chat is supposed to be considered off-site behaviour. The same was with the IRC channel, and the same will be if we ever decide to use somewhere else for our chatting concerns.

ForGaroux Some Assembly Required! 00:52, August 13, 2013 (UTC)

I don't consider them as separate. I do agree that chat is a sub domain, but there are rules that we enforce in chat that are wiki based rules, ie sockpuppetry. We also enforce wikia's ToU. I certainly don't consider chat "off-site", since it's not. It's a part of the domain, and all of our admins automatically gain chat mod rights. How I interpret the overlap of chat rules and site rules is this: If a rule is expressly spelled out as a chat rule, it trumps any less specific site rule. All other wikia ToU and site rules apply, in general, but the enforcement is normally limited to the use of chat. There have been rare instances where conduct in chat has resulted in site blocks, but they've been very rare, and were very severe. The Gunny  380px-USMC-E7 svg 01:29, August 13, 2013 (UTC)
Well, what I meant by off-site, is that, for instance, we wouldn't ban someone for actions based on another Wikia wiki, unless it was a serious transgression that affected our reputation. But I digress in regards to the point that at least the chat feature is a sub-sub domain of the Nukapedia sub-domain. As for the rest, I suppose the notion I have set forth was birthed from the general understanding that actions within chat shouldn't leak out much into the actual wiki. ForGaroux Some Assembly Required! 01:41, August 13, 2013 (UTC)
Yeah. I'd agree with that. It's been very rare that we've blocked someone on the wiki for actions in chat. Unless you count all the socks we block that are solely from users reentering chat after a ban. So there is some overlap, but like I said, I feel that the specific chat rules have precedence. The Gunny  380px-USMC-E7 svg 01:47, August 13, 2013 (UTC)
Sock-puppetry is definitely one of those unique scenarios, that doesn't happen as uniquely as one would hope. But I would consider that a two-way transgression, since account management is accessed through the actual wiki. ForGaroux Some Assembly Required! 01:54, August 13, 2013 (UTC)

Bugs

Hi, you're welcome! When I come on here and haven't got something specific to add I flick through random pages and try to fix the little things, and I think more should be put into bugs, (not you personally, but anyone), so I try, I think that way one-offs can be separated and more importantly because if I, you, or anyone reports a bug, they can have it explained or verified. I can imagine there aren't enough people verifying the smaller things, and genuine bugs become overdue. That said I have a couple of questions;

  • Categorizing bugs that are not strictly bugs (bear with me), for example something that should happen but doesn't, but affects all platforms and is constant, i.e. like an oversight or error in the game. (if that makes sense). Some look established but not verified, or am I looking too far?
  • Secondary bugs or notes for bugs. Some look as if we are to presume them correct or self-evident, I suppose what I'm asking is, should I just be using reason?

Thanks, --Tribal Wisdom (talk) 18:54, August 15, 2013 (UTC)

I am sorry. I don't know how to create those logs. This is one of the reasons I never asked to be more than just a basic member. I do not have that kind of technical skills. I did not grow up with a computer mouse in my hand. I can barely spell.

  • I thought you wanted prof of good intent.

Even the mods who have acted against me have recanted belief that I intended any harm. I ask you please take their word as proof ? If their word is good enough to ban me on impulse, should it not be good enough after reconsideration and deliberation to absolve me ?

If the accuser has clearly made it public that they regret making the charge then should that not be enough?

I am humbly at your disposal. Please tell me what more I can do?

I stand by what I said, but I want to apologize for being so abrasive. I understand now that you held no ill-intent with your words. I'm just not big for accusations, and as I've talked to quite a few people over this topic, I've come to understand that there are quite a few accusations being thrown around over us supposedly playing favourites.
