Dean Domino was a pre-war lounge singer, now ghoulified and trapped in Sierra Madre in 2281.
Background
Prior to the Great War, Domino was a very famous lounge singer, often playing on the old Las Vegas Strip. Although he is a quick thinker, trained with guns (specifically pistols), explosives and knives, he is very paranoid, setting up many booby traps and secret stashes throughout the Villa - perhaps understandably, considering the Ghost People who inhabit it.
After being captured by Father Elijah at the Abandoned BoS Bunker, the Courier must work with Domino to find the treasure at the heart of the Sierra Madre casino and win their freedom. Although he is bound by the collar, Domino possesses his own lust for the treasure he has waited literally hundreds of years for, and will no doubt try anything to obtain it.

Endings
It is revealed in the final vault room that Sinclair made the vault a trap for Dean as he knew about the plot he and Vera were planning. When Dean was to look at the message the door would lock trapping him in there forever.
If Dean survives the Sierra Madre Casino heist, he travels to the Mojave Wasteland due to the amount of Casinos to rob.
After locating Dean in The Tampico Theatre backstage, Dean will confront the Courier stating his very own plan to perform the heist on his own. He will also state that his Explosive collar may not be fully linked to the Courier's. At this point, if the Courier cannot dissuade him, Dean will attack the Courier. If he is killed, it is said that the stage lights at The Tampico Theatre go out, one by one, leaving only Dean's hologram singing silently to an empty room forever and ever.
