CaravanOffer Want to play a hand of Caravan? Neutral 50 I always have time for a good game of Caravan. I hope you're up to the challenge. 1
CaravanPlayerLoses CaravanPlayerLoses Neutral 50 It looks like you need a bit more practice. Another lesson perhaps? 2
CaravanPlayerWins CaravanPlayerWins Neutral 50 Impressive. That was a very good game. Would you care to play again? 3
CaravanRematchNo I'm all done playing for now. Neutral 50 Another time then, perhaps. 4
CaravanRematchYes Yeah, let's play again. Neutral 50 Excellent. Let the game begin! 5
GREETING GREETING Anger 50 Ah, hello. I trust you have something to report concerning the Freeside situation? 6
GREETING Neutral 50 Something I can help you with, soldier? 7
GREETING Happy 50 It's good to see such an outstanding hero of the NCR. What can I do for you, my friend? 8
GREETING Happy 25 It's good to have a friend of the NCR here. What can I do for you? 9
GREETING Disgust 50 Well, if it isn't the loose cannon that's been wandering the Mojave Wasteland. What do you want? 10
GREETING Disgust 25 I didn't expect to see you here. I hope you're not here to cause trouble. 11
GREETING Anger 50 You're the last person I expected to see here. This better be good. 12
GREETING Anger 25 {Angry}What do you want? 13
GREETING Neutral 50 Greetings, friend. Something I can help you with? 14
GREETING Neutral 50 Hello again. What can I do for you this time? 15
GREETING Anger 50 I don't have anything more to say to you. You can show yourself out. 16
VMS23VStreetDennisCrockerTopic005 Tell me about yourself, Ambassador. Happy 25 Interested in Politics, huh? Well, grab a seat and get comfortable. 17
Happy 15 I've been in politics quite a while now. Always had the drive to do it, even when I was young. It's just something I was drawn to. 18
Happy 15 I started my career over twenty years ago back in the NCR as the local mayor and worked my way up from there. 19
Neutral 50 I managed President Kimball's first run for a seat on the Council. {smiling at the obviousness of it}I suppose that's why I have this ambassadorship. 20
VMS23VStreetDennisCrockerTopic006 I wanted to talk to you about the Boomers. Happy 10 I'm glad to see you've given it some thought. Are you willing to go talk to them? 21
I wanted to talk to you about the Boomers. Neutral 50 Thanks for doing this. Remember, we need their resources to help us in the upcoming battle. Do whatever it takes. 22
I wanted to talk to you about the Boomers. Neutral 50 I hope you've returned with good news. Are they willing to help the NCR? 23
I wanted to talk to you about the Boomers. Neutral 50 What's the word with the Boomers? Have you talked with them yet? 24
VMS23VStreetDennisCrockerTopic008 I'd like to know more about the NCR. Anger 15 That's a conversation we might be able to have some day - once you've shown more respect for my country. 25
I'd like to know more about the NCR. Neutral 50 I can provide a quick history lesson, if that's what you're looking for. 26
Neutral 50 In 2274, President Kimball sent the NCR army into the Mojave in force, with the objective of occupying and repairing Hoover Dam. 27
Neutral 50 Rangers and army scouts had confirmed that the dam was basically unoccupied and could be restored to an operable condition. 28
Neutral 50 Upon arriving at the dam, however, they discovered that a large force of tribals and robots had occupied it. 29
Neutral 50 This was our introduction to the Three Families, the Securitrons, and, of course, Mr. House. 30
Neutral 50 Using his Securitrons as intermediaries, Mr. House called for parlay. 31
Neutral 50 He claimed his forces had occupied Hoover Dam in order to safeguard it for our arrival. 32
Neutral 50 And that he was ready to turn it over to us, so long as we could agree to terms. 33
Neutral 50 Those terms became the Treaty of New Vegas. 34
Neutral 50 The Treaty recognized Mr. House's sovereignty over the Strip and granted us rights to establish military bases at the Dam and McCarran Airport. 35
Neutral 50 The NCR is legally permitted to send 95% of the electricity produced by the dam to our home states. 36
Neutral 50 The remaining 5% goes to the Strip. 37
Neutral 50 The treaty actually makes it illegal for the NCR to prevent its citizens, or troops on furlough, from visiting the Strip. 38
Neutral 50 Once on the Strip, our citizens are subject to arrest - or punishment - by House's Securitrons, though that's a rare occurrence. 39
Neutral 50 Our troops enjoy a different status. It's illegal for the Securitrons to take action against them. 40
Neutral 50 Of course, it's also illegal for our troops to carry firearms on the Strip, so there isn't much trouble they can get into. 41
Neutral 50 Our military police does an adequate job of keeping the troops on furlough in line. I don't envy them that task. 42
Neutral 50 The embassy was established a few weeks after the Treaty was signed. 43
Neutral 50 Basically Mr. House handed us a dumpy little building he had no interest in renovating. 44
Neutral 50 I'm the third ambassador to hold this post. And the first, I think, to accept its limitations. 45
Neutral 50 My predecessors had ambitions of engineering the annexation of the Mojave. They thought they'd convince Mr. House to join up. 46
Neutral 50 I've never even spoken to the man - or whatever he is. Maybe the situation will change once we've beaten the Legion once and for all. 47
VMS23VStreetDennisCrockerTopic009 Uh... no word yet. I'll get back to you on it. Neutral 50 You know where to find me. 48
VMS23VStreetDennisCrockerTopic011 What's happening around the Strip? Anger 15 If that's all you came here to talk about, you're wasting my time. Get to the point, or get out of my office. 49
What's happening around the Strip? Anger 5 I know you have a penchant for getting into trouble, but I'd recommend against that here. The Securitrons on the Strip aren't to be trifled with. 50
Happy 5 Perhaps I'll have Captain Pappas keep an eye on you. For your own safety, of course. 51
What's happening around the Strip? Neutral 50 It's the same old stuff around here. Gambling, debauchery, drunkenness. It's all here. I'm getting a little old for it, however. 52
Neutral 50 If you want more information try talking to some of the other guys around here. I don't get out of the office much anymore. 53
VMS23VStreetDennisCrockerTopic012 I don't think it's going to work out. Sorry. Anger 15 That's disappointing. They could have been a big help to us. I guess we'll just have to do without. 54
VMS23VStreetDennisCrockerTopic013 <VMS23 Boomer Quest> Happy 25 I'm glad you could make it! I have something that I wanted to discuss with you. 55
Neutral 50 It's a very important matter, and I have a strong feeling that you're the perfect person for the job. 56
<VMS23 Boomer Quest> Neutral 50 You received my message, good. I realize that it may seem a little strange that I'm contacting you, considering your reputation... 57
Neutral 50 But I have a business proposition to discuss with you. 58
<VMS23 Boomer Quest> Happy 25 Ah, I see you received my message. Good, good - I had something important to discuss with you. 59
VMS23VStreetDennisCrockerTopic014 I'm listening. Neutral 50 I'm going to keep this as simple as possible so we don't waste each other's time. 60
Neutral 50 The NCR is in a bit of a tight spot with all that is going on with Mr. House and the Legion. 61
Neutral 50 And despite your reputation and previous actions with the NCR, we could use your help. 62
I'm listening. Neutral 50 I'm sure you've noticed that things are a little tense around here with all the issues between the NCR, the Legion, and Mr. House. 63
Neutral 50 It doesn't take a genius to see that something big is going to happen soon. 64
Neutral 50 To be honest with you, the NCR is in a tight spot. {slightly dramatic}But... if we fail now, it's the people here that are going to suffer the most. 65
Happy 15 I'm not willing to let that happen, and I don't think you're the kind of person that would either. 66
VMS23VStreetDennisCrockerTopic015 Sorry, I'm not interested. Sad 15 Sorry to hear that. Do me a favor and give it some more thought. I'll be here if you change your mind. 67
VMS23VStreetDennisCrockerTopic016 Actually, I already know them. We're good friends. Surprise 50 That's excellent news! So they'll help us? 68
VMS23VStreetDennisCrockerTopic017 I've met with the Boomers. I don't think it'll work out. Anger 15 That's disappointing. They could have been a big help to us. I guess we'll just have to do without. 69
VMS23VStreetDennisCrockerTopic018 I know where they are. I'll go and talk to them. Happy 15 Excellent, come back after you've spoken to them. They should see the benefits of helping us in the long-term. 70
VMS23VStreetDennisCrockerTopic019 I'll find them and talk to them. Happy 15 Much appreciated. Once you've talked to them, let me know what they have to say. 71
VMS23VStreetDennisCrockerTopic020 About that thing you wanted to talk about, let's hear it. Neutral 50 I'm going to keep this as simple as possible. The NCR is in a bit of a tight spot with all that's going on, and I need someone like you to help me. 72
Neutral 50 In exchange for your help, you would receive complete amnesty for any past crimes against the NCR, as well as additional benefits and perks. 73
Neutral 50 And if you prove to be a loyal and capable agent, well... let's just say there's a lot of work to be done, and the NCR is a good friend to have. 74
Neutral 50 To the Northeast is a settlement. The locals here call them Boomers. They are sitting on a munitions stockpile that would be invaluable to us. 75
Neutral 50 I would like you to get in contact with them, and then do whatever it takes to convince them to help us. 76
Neutral 50 Someone with your background and reputation would have a better chance of reaching them than anyone I have available. 77
VMS23VStreetDennisCrockerTopic021 The Boomers have agreed to help me. Happy 50 Excellent work. I can't tell you how useful that will be. 78
The Boomers have agreed to help me. Neutral 50 In any event, I have another assignment ready and waiting for you. But we can speak of it later. 79
Neutral 50 Rest up, and when you're ready, speak to me again. 80
VMS23VStreetDennisCrockerTopic022 Yes... they will help... "us." Happy 50 That's great. They're going to give us an advantage in the battle ahead. 81
VMS23VStreetDennisCrockerTopic023 Uh... I'm not sure. I'll get back to you. Neutral 50 Let me know as soon as you have an answer from them. 82
VMS23VStreetDennisCrockerTopic025 That's enough history for me. Sad 10 Oh... very well then. What else can I do for you? 83
VMS23VStreetDennisCrockerTopic026 Go on. Neutral 50 Now we mostly just keep track of the NCR citizens and troopers around and make sure they don't get in trouble, but that's Captain Pappas' job. 84
Neutral 50 I keep myself busy with paperwork and reports that get sent back to the NCR. It's mostly busy work, but every once in awhile, we make progress. 85
VMS23VStreetDennisCrockerTopic027 Interesting, go on. Happy 50 {Proud}I was elected to this post seven years ago. {Pride escalating}I'm the third NCR representative to serve here in Vegas. 86
Happy 25 {Beat, still proud}Now, I've had my share of ups and downs along the way, but I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world. 87
Happy 25 That's it. Anything else you wished to know? 88
VMS23VStreetDennisCrockerTopic028 I'd like to ask about something else instead. Sad 10 {slightly disappointed}Oh yes, sure sure. Ask away. 89
VMS23VStreetDennisCrockerTopic030 You have my attention, go on. Neutral 50 To the northeast is a settlement, the locals here call them "Boomers." They are sitting on a munitions stockpile that would be invaluable to us. 90
Neutral 50 I'd like you to get in contact with them, and then do whatever it takes to convince them to help us. 91
Anger 5 Unfortunately, the Boomers keep to themselves and are, let's say, hostile to all outsiders. That is why I need someone like you. 92
Neutral 50 Someone with your background and reputation would have a better chance of reaching them than anyone I have available. 93
Happy 5 In exchange for your help, you would receive complete amnesty for any past crimes against the NCR, as well as additional benefits and perks. 94
Neutral 50 Do you think you would be able to do this for me? 95
VMS23VStreetDennisCrockerTopic031 You have the wrong person. Sad 5 I'm sorry that you think so. However, if you do happen to change your mind, you can find me here at the embassy. 96
VMS29VStreetDennisCrockerTopic000 Earlier you mentioned another assignment? Neutral 50 So I did. As you may have noticed, our position here in New Vegas is tenuous. 97
Neutral 50 We've made great strides, sure, but the NCR is not welcomed here, merely tolerated. And even then, not by everyone. 98
Neutral 50 We've had reports of violence against NCR citizens in a neighborhood just to the northeast called Freeside. Ever been there? 99
Is that job in Freeside still available? Neutral 50 Yes, have you reconsidered? NCR citizens may be dying as we speak in that hellhole. 100
I've completed the Pacer job. Neutral 50 Oh, I've already heard. Pacer is dead. The Kings are up in arms. The entire area is gripped by chaos and the violence has only increased. 101
Neutral 50 In fact, I've heard that many are assuming the NCR did it without even looking into the matter. This is the worst thing that could possibly happen! 102
Neutral 50 What do you have to say for yourself? 103
Uh, the King sort of got killed while I was working on that Freeside job. Neutral 50 Oh, I've already heard. The Kings are up in arms. The entire area is gripped by chaos and the violence has only increased. 104
Neutral 50 In fact, I've heard that many are assuming the NCR did it without even looking into the matter. This is the worst thing that could possibly happen! 105
Neutral 50 What do you have to say for yourself? 106
I wanted to talk about the situation in Freeside. Neutral 50 Yes, do you have something to report? 107
I have an update on the Freeside situation. Neutral 50 Yes, how did it go? 108
VMS29VStreetDennisCrockerTopic001 I have. It's a slum. Neutral 50 I'm inclined to agree, but it's a slum with NCR citizens in it, and as such it falls under my jurisdiction. 109
VMS29VStreetDennisCrockerTopic002 Yes, what of it? Neutral 50 Violence is something of a way of life there, but there's been a disturbing rise in the number of attacks on our people lately. 110
Neutral 50 More worrying is the fact that our sources suggest the violence is being perpetrated by the gang that runs the place, the Kings. 111
Neutral 50 I need someone to look into this that won't attract attention. Would you be interested? 112
VMS29VStreetDennisCrockerTopic003 No, I haven't. Neutral 50 It's a beastly place. Poverty is rampant, and all that goes with it - drugs, alcohol abuse, the usual. 113
VMS29VStreetDennisCrockerTopic004 Maybe? I go lots of places. Can't remember them all, you know. Neutral 50 You'd remember this one. It's a pit where people are robbed, murdered, or simply go to die. 114
VMS29VStreetDennisCrockerTopic005 Sure, I'll look into it. Neutral 50 Good. Our men have come up with two different plans for seeing an end to the violence. 115
Neutral 50 First, our sources have tracked most of the attacks back to a King named Pacer. The consensus is that the violence will stop if he's removed. 116
Neutral 50 The problem is that we can't simply kill him. In the current climate, the NCR would likely be blamed for his death. 117
Neutral 50 There is an alternative option, but my sources feel that getting rid of this Pacer fellow is our best shot. 118
VMS29VStreetDennisCrockerTopic006 I think I'll pass. Neutral 50 That's too bad. Come back if you change your mind. I'm sure you can see yourself out. 119
VMS29VStreetDennisCrockerTopic007 If I can't just kill him, what did you want me to do? Neutral 50 Make it look like an accident, or pin the deed on someone else. Look into this guy's affairs, and I'm sure you'll find something you can use. 120
VMS29VStreetDennisCrockerTopic008 What was I supposed to do again? Neutral 50 Either kill Pacer in a way that doesn't lead back to us, or talk the King into quelling the violence. It's not really that hard to remember. 121
Neutral 50 In any case, I expect to hear good news about this in the future. Keep me informed of your progress. 122
VMS29VStreetDennisCrockerTopic009 I've heard that there's bad blood between Pacer and the Van Graff family. Neutral 50 See, that's exactly the type of information we can use. In fact, that's perfect. Those fancy weapons the Van Graffs peddle aren't exactly common. 123
Neutral 50 It goes without saying that actually getting the Van Graffs to do the deed would be the ideal solution. 124
Neutral 50 However, if Pacer were killed with either a laser or plasma-based weapon, everyone would automatically assume the Van Graffs did it. 125
Neutral 50 Still, unless you want several dozen armed men at your throat, you'd have to kill him without being seen. Be careful. 126
Neutral 50 I'll leave the method up to you. However, there is an alternative if you'd rather try to handle things without bloodshed. 127
VMS29VStreetDennisCrockerTopic010 Pacer's addicted to Jet, even though he has a heart condition. Neutral 50 That could be useful, but I'm afraid I don't have the background to know how to take advantage of that knowledge. 128
VMS29VStreetDennisCrockerTopic011 Add a little Psycho to his Jet, and he'd have a heart attack. Neutral 50 [SUCCEEDED] Remind me never to get on your bad side. If that's true, then yes, that would be a suitable way to get rid of him. 129
Neutral 50 However, it would involve gaining access to his personal drug stash and tampering with it unseen, which might pose a challenge. 130
Maybe the jet will cause his heart to give out. Neutral 50 [FAILED] I doubt it. I've seen junkies live for decades on the stuff. You'd be better off asking someone who knows about these things. 131
VMS29VStreetDennisCrockerTopic012 I was hoping you'd know. Neutral 50 {Wild Wasteland!}Damn it, I'm an ambassador, not a doctor. You'll have to find some other way. 132
I was hoping you'd know. Neutral 50 I'm afraid I can't be much help in this matter. My specialty is people and politics, not medicine. 133
VMS29VStreetDennisCrockerTopic013 I'm not an assassin. Neutral 50 In that case, we can take a different tack, but one that I at least have more experience with - diplomacy. 134
Neutral 50 If we can't go after the man responsible, we'll simply appeal to the man above him. 135
Neutral 50 The Kings, including our friend Pacer, report to the leader of their gang, a man who calls himself the King. 136
VMS29VStreetDennisCrockerTopic014 All right, I'll try to find a way. Neutral 50 I'm sure something will turn up. If you think you've found something but are unsure, report back and I'll let you know if it's something we can use. 137
Neutral 50 It may be tough to find a way to completely throw off suspicion, however. 138
VMS29VStreetDennisCrockerTopic015 What's my other choice? Neutral 50 I'm not a violent man myself, so I had our guys come up with an alternate solution on the off chance that our agent-to-be shared my sentiments. 139
VMS29VStreetDennisCrockerTopic016 Let's start with my reward. Neutral 50 Reward? You want a reward for setting our diplomatic efforts back a year? 140
VMS29VStreetDennisCrockerTopic017 When you put it that way... yes. Neutral 50 Oh, I see. You're proud of your efforts, eh? Bah! Thankfully, it looks like we won't be working together any longer. 141
VMS29VStreetDennisCrockerTopic018 I suppose not. Neutral 50 At least you've got the sense to know you've screwed up. I'll probably be cleaning toilets by the end of the week. But you'll be busy, too. 142
VMS29VStreetDennisCrockerTopic019 You wanted a man dead. He's dead. Now where are my caps? Neutral 50 If it will get you out of my hair, this is a small price to pay. At least I won't have to put up with you any longer. 143
VMS29VStreetDennisCrockerTopic020 I'm sorry. I screwed up. Neutral 50 That's an understatement. Still, there's nothing to be done about it now. Maybe the violence may die down once things settle. 144
Neutral 50 Here, take this. It's not what I was planning to give you, but you deserve some sort of payment for your efforts. Oh, and one other thing. 145
VMS29VStreetDennisCrockerTopic021 {Dumb option}Wow, you're really mad. Neutral 50 You better believe I'm mad. You've waged a one man campaign to drag our good name through the mud and I'll be held accountable! 146
Neutral 50 You probably don't even know what I'm talking about. Gah! This is what I get for hiring an idiot to do such an important job. 147
Neutral 50 Here, just take this and go. I have damage control to do. 148
Neutral 50 Wait, I'm supposed to send you to Colonel Moore up at Hoover Dam, though why she wants to see an imbecile like you is beyond me. 149
Neutral 50 So go to Hoover Dam and see Colonel Moore. Got it? Hoover Dam. Colonel Moore. {Sighs}Maybe it's time to retire. 150
VMS29VStreetDennisCrockerTopic022 I discovered that Pacer and the Van Graffs have a troubled history. Neutral 50 See, that's exactly the type of information we can use. In fact, that's perfect. Those fancy weapons the Van Graffs peddle aren't exactly common. 151
Neutral 50 It goes without saying that actually getting the Van Graffs to do the deed would be the ideal solution. 152
Neutral 50 However, if Pacer were killed with either a laser or plasma-based weapon, everyone would automatically assume the Van Graffs did it. 153
Neutral 50 Still, unless you want several dozen armed men at your throat, you'd have to kill him without being seen. Be careful. 154
Neutral 50 I'll leave the method up to you. However, there is an alternative if you'd rather try to handle things without bloodshed. 155
VMS29VStreetDennisCrockerTopic023 I discovered that Pacer is a Jet addict and has a heart condition. Neutral 50 That could be useful, but I'm afraid I don't have the background to know how to take advantage of that knowledge. 156
I discovered that Pacer is a Jet addict and has a heart condition. Neutral 50 As I told you before, that could be useful information, but I don't know how to take advantage of it. 157
VMS29VStreetDennisCrockerTopic024 I used an energy weapon to kill Pacer, so the Van Graffs should take the blame. Neutral 50 Killing two birds with one stone. Excellent. You've done a great service for the NCR. 158
Neutral 50 Now, you're probably wondering about your reward. This has been something of a hot button topic, so I was able to secure this for you. 159
VMS29VStreetDennisCrockerTopic025 I risked my neck out there. Couldn't you spare a little more? Neutral 50 [SUCCEEDED] Well, I don't officially have access to any more funds, but here. This is from me personally. There's more coming your way, too. 160
That's it? Neutral 50 [FAILED] I'm sorry, but those are the only funds I was able to allocate. You'll have to make due with it. Besides, you may have other tasks soon. 161
VMS29VStreetDennisCrockerTopic026 I laced Pacer's Jet with Psycho and it didn't go well for him. Neutral 50 Good show. With the conditions there, no one will suspect anything other than bad drugs to be the culprit. You've done a great service for the NCR. 162
Neutral 50 Now, you're probably wondering about your reward. This has been something of a hot button topic, so I was able to secure this for you. 163
VMS29VStreetDennisCrockerTopic027 The King complied with Colonel Moore's ultimatum. Neutral 50 How unexpected! I was sure a direct confrontation would lead to more fighting, but I'm delighted to be proven wrong. 164
Neutral 50 I wouldn't be surprised if you had something to do with the situation not flaring up, either. Here, I'm sure you deserve every one of these caps. 165
The King complied with Colonel Moore's ultimatum. Neutral 50 Also, Colonel Moore has requested your presence at Hoover Dam again. No doubt she has further work for an individual with your skillset. 166
Neutral 50 I'm afraid I don't have any further assignments that would suit you, so you should probably go see her at your earliest convenience. 167
VMS29VStreetDennisCrockerTopic028 Glad to be of service. Neutral 50 I've received a message from Colonel Moore up at Hoover Dam. She's been following your exploits and has requested that you meet with her. 168
Neutral 50 You're not officially in the employ of the NCR, so there's nothing forcing you to go, but I'd go see her sooner rather than later. 169
Neutral 50 The Colonel is not someone you want to keep waiting. 170
VMS29VStreetDennisCrockerTopic029 Keep me in mind for any future assignments. Neutral 50 I would, but I'm afraid the rest of the work in my queue pertains to matters I'll have to deal with personally. You do have another option, however. 171
VMS29VStreetDennisCrockerTopic030 I spoke to the King, and he promised to stop the violence against NCR citizens. Neutral 50 That's great to hear. He's got a lot of sway in Freeside, so we can expect a dramatic drop in violence soon. 172
Neutral 50 Now, you're probably wondering about your reward. This has been something of a hot button topic, so I was able to secure this for you. 173
VMS29VStreetDennisCrockerTopic031 The King won't deal with the NCR. Neutral 50 That's most unfortunate. In this circumstance I've been instructed to send you along to Colonel Moore over at Hoover Dam for further orders. 174
Neutral 50 The Colonel will likely send you back to Freeside with a squad of armed men, for all the good that will do. 175
VMS29VStreetDennisCrockerTopic032 I'm still working on it. Neutral 50 I understand. Sometimes these things take time. 176
Neutral 50 Remember, do what you can to gain the man's trust. Then you'll have your chance. 177
VMS29VStreetDennisCrockerTopic033 <Lie> No, I haven't. Neutral 50 It's a beastly place. Poverty is rampant, and all that goes with it - drugs, alcohol abuse, the usual. 178
VMS29VStreetDennisCrockerTopic034 <Lie> Sure, what about the place? Neutral 50 Violence is something of a way of life there, but there's been a disturbing rise in the number of attacks on our people lately. 179
Neutral 50 More worrying is the fact that our sources suggest the violence is being perpetrated by the gang that runs the place, the Kings. 180
Neutral 50 I need someone to look into this that won't attract attention. Would you be interested? 181
VMS29VStreetDennisCrockerTopic035 Sounds like you and the Colonel don't get along. Neutral 50 Oh, I like the Colonel just fine. She's a good soldier, one of the best. I just don't think her general approach to things is a good fit here. 182
Neutral 50 See, the Colonel likes to solve things neatly, quickly, and efficiently, through a show of force if possible, and through actual force if necessary. 183
Neutral 50 That won't work here. Unless she plans on killing half the population of Freeside, sending soldiers to the area will only make things worse. 184
VMS29VStreetDennisCrockerTopic036 That'll show the people in Freeside who's in charge! Neutral 50 More like instigate a mass riot. People there already think the NCR is trying to take this place over. We'd only be confirming their fears. 185
VMS29VStreetDennisCrockerTopic037 Sending NCR soldiers into Freeside would be a bad idea. Neutral 50 I completely agree. Even if a riot didn't immediately break out, a line will have been crossed, and we'll have made that many more enemies. 186
VMS29VStreetDennisCrockerTopic038 So what do you suggest? Neutral 50 I'd suggest you speak to Colonel Hsu over at Camp McCarran. He's much more level-headed about this sort of thing. 187
Neutral 50 He's also in a better position to bargain with the people of Freeside, seeing as how he's in charge of water and power distribution in the area. 188
Neutral 50 Still, I'm only mentioning it as an option. My official orders are to direct you to Colonel Moore. Godspeed. 189
VMS29VStreetDennisCrockerTopic039 I guess I'll head over to Colonel Moore, then. Neutral 50 Wait a moment, if you would. While sending you to Colonel Moore is what I'm officially supposed to do, I'd like to propose an alternative. 190
VMS29VStreetDennisCrockerTopic040 But you've got another idea. Spit it out. Neutral 50 Is it that obvious? You must understand that while Colonel Moore's job is to get things done, my job is to represent the NCR's best interests. 191
VMS29VStreetDennisCrockerTopic041 The Kings were all killed after the King turned down the ultimatum. Neutral 50 I was afraid this would happen. Freeside will be a little more dangerous for a while, but eventually things will die down. 192
Neutral 50 I expect few people will purposely target NCR citizens for some time to come, which is a relief. 193
Neutral 50 However, the NCR's reputation has taken a huge blow because of this. People are beginning to see not much difference between us and the Legion. 194
Neutral 50 I've been authorized to give you this for your efforts. It's not much, but most of the funds for this operation are now going toward damage control. 195
VMS29VStreetDennisCrockerTopic042 The King accepted Colonel Hsu's offer of help. Neutral 50 Good, good. Hsu's a man you can count on to handle a crisis. I'm just glad that things didn't end in violence. 196
Neutral 50 Here, this is what remains of the funds initially allocated for this operation. 197
The King accepted Colonel Hsu's offer of help. Neutral 50 Also, I've been directed to send you on to Colonel Moore at Hoover Dam. She's been following my reports on your exploits with some interest. 198
Neutral 50 As I don't have any further assignments for you, I'd recommend going to see her if you need more work. 199
VMS29VStreetDennisCrockerTopic043 A fight broke out when I presented Hsu's offer. The Kings are all dead. Neutral 50 That's terrible. I suppose the violence against our people will stop, though. 200
Neutral 50 I'll have to spend much of the remaining funds for the operation on damage control, but I can spare this much as compensation for your efforts. 201
VMS29VStreetDennisCrockerTopic044 I think I'd rather go with the assassination plan. Neutral 50 If that's what you prefer, I won't stop you. Just remember to try to find a way to do it that doesn't lead back to the NCR. 202
Neutral 50 If it just doesn't look possible to make the kill without drawing attention, don't forget there's always the diplomatic approach. 203
VMS29VStreetDennisCrockerTopic045 Add a little Psycho to his Jet, and he'd have a heart attack. Neutral 50 [SUCCEEDED] Remind me never to get on your bad side. If that's true, then yes, that would be a suitable way to get rid of him. 204
Neutral 50 It looks like you have things well in hand, so I'll leave you to it. 205
Maybe the jet will cause his heart to give out. Neutral 50 [FAILED] I doubt it. I've seen junkies live for decades on the stuff. You'd be better off asking someone who knows about these things. 206
VMS29VStreetDennisCrockerTopic046 I was hoping you'd know. Neutral 50 {Wild Wasteland!}Damn it, I'm an ambassador, not a doctor. You'll have to find some other way. 207
I was hoping you'd know. Neutral 50 I'm afraid I can't be much help in this matter. My specialty is people and politics, not medicine. 208
VMS29VStreetDennisCrockerTopic047 I received my orders from Colonel Moore, and am still carrying them out. Neutral 50 No doubt Colonel Moore's approach will produce results. Just be ready to duck when the bullets start flying. 209
VMS29VStreetDennisCrockerTopic048 Tell me more about the King. Neutral 50 He's caucasian, in his mid-30s, and extremely charismatic. It's that last part that we're counting on. 210
Neutral 50 The Kings are a bunch of young hoodlums who aren't inclined to listen to anyone, except him. Get him on our side, and the rest will fall in line. 211
VMS29VStreetDennisCrockerTopic049 What would I need to do? Neutral 50 Go and talk to the King, try to convince him to put an end to this violence. Pacer's a punk, but he won't likely disobey a direct order. 212
Neutral 50 The King might not be open to the idea at first, so you may have to ingratiate yourself with him. Do whatever it takes. 213
Neutral 50 When it's done, one way or the other, report back here and we'll take it from there. 214
VMS29VStreetDennisCrockerTopic050 Guess I'll go have a talk with the King, then. Neutral 50 I wish you luck. If you run into some difficulty and think you'd rather just take the shot with Pacer, that's fine too. 215
VMS29VStreetDennisCrockerTopic051 I received my orders from Colonel Hsu, and am still carrying them out. Neutral 50 I trust that Hsu will deal with the matter thoughtfully. Regardless, stay on your toes. There's no telling what will happen. 216
VMS29VStreetDennisCrockerTopic052 I haven't talked to either Colonel Moore or Colonel Hsu yet. Neutral 50 Well then don't waste any more time here. Get going! 217
