Emma is a deceased member of the Minutemen in 2287.
Background[]
Emma was among the Minutemen squad under Colonel Hollis during the Quincy Massacre. When Clint, a 10-year veteran of the Minutemen, betrayed them, she was one of the few Minutemen that escaped with Preston Garvey's group, with others including Josh and Anthony. They managed to survive all the way to Lexington, where she and Josh left ahead of the group, presumably to scout Concord. By the time they returned to the Super Duper Mart in Lexington, the group had already left, chased away by feral ghouls, unbeknownst to them.[1][2][3]
After investigating what had happened, they discovered Anthony's remains and feral ghoul corpses and deduced what had happened. Before leaving, Josh opted to reenter the building to take care of some final affairs, including handling Anthony's remains, while sending Emma to the loading docks to wait for him. After an hour, Emma began to grow nervous and restless, wanting to continue on to Concord and regroup with the others. At this point, Josh encountered feral ghouls in the building and began fighting, which Emma also heard.[2][3]
Neither of them made it out alive. Emma's body can be found in the back of the Super Duper Mart loading docks with her holotape on her remains. Josh, two other unnamed Minutemen and a settler are also found dead in or around the Super Duper Mart.

- Emma's body will despawn if the Sole Survivor enters the area around Lexington and the Corvega assembly plant and enough time passes without finding her.
- Emma and Josh are among several NPCs who have a unique speaker NPC model for their holotape voice. These speaker NPCs are distinct from the in-game corpses and also have completely different appearances.
