Fo3 James Bust.png
James was the father of the Lone Wanderer. Before coming to Vault 101, he met a group of Capital Wasteland scientists; one was Madison Li and another was Catherine, who he would later marry. Catherine had a dream of bringing pure water to the Capital Wasteland and for it to be given to any and all, later becoming Project Purity. After Catherine died giving birth to the Lone Wanderer, James grieved too much to continue the humanitarian effort. He sought safety for himself and his child in Vault 101 where he became the vault physician. In 2277, he fled from the vault to continue Project Purity after he was sure his child was old enough to take care of themselves. After journeying across the Capital Wasteland, James discovered that Project Purity required a Garden of Eden Creation Kit and rumor had that one could be found in Vault 112. He was imprisoned in a virtual reality simulation there, but was later released by his child, who had set out to find him after he escaped. Though they were reunited, difficulties ensued when Project Purity was commandeered by the Enclave. James sacrificed himself in vain to keep the Enclave from acquiring the facility and using it for their own interests.
