Fallout and Fallout 2[]

The perk has a single rank, and improves the amount of money found during random encounters. The requirements to obtain the perk are the same in both games.

Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas[]

Similar to the first two games, the perk has a single rank and affects the amount of caps found. However, it is no longer tied to only random encounters, instead affecting a wide variety of containers found in the world.

Fallout 4[]

Carrying over the idea of the previous two games, the perk was expanded to four ranks, with each rank increasing the amount of caps found in containers. In addition, the fourth rank grants a chance for killed enemies to ocassionally explode into a shower of caps.

Fallout 76[]

The perk was completely overhauled, it no longer affects the amount of caps found. Instead an audio clue is played whenever the player is in range of a nearby caps stash. For this game, the perk's previous functionality was somewhat preserved by the Cap Collector perk.
