Could someone please help me. I've played FO3 and FNV a ton and love them, but i downloaded Fallout 1 and i just dont get it... How do you play, fight, travel, and just about do anything? Its so different, I dont even understand the pip boy or inventory or anything (you need AP to open your inventory???). Please help!!! Schmidtyb43 04:17, November 9, 2010 (UTC)
1) You have to use Action points to open your inventory only if you are in combat.
2) I'm sure you already figured out the hex-pointer that replaces the cursor. Just point to a spot on a map to run there.
3) Right-click with the mouse to change the hex-cursor to a mouse-shaped one. Use this to interact with people, and pick up objects in the game world
4) To enter combat, click the "Combat" button (or "a" on the keyboard) on the right side of the Pip-boy screen. Or, if you are close enough to an enemy, you will automatically enter into combat if you are in their line of sight.
5) To travel on the world map, you have to find the "exit grid" on local maps, which are denoted by red-shaded portions of the map. Green-shaded portions denote where you go onto another part of the same local map.

You can also enter combat by clicking your weapon. It took me some time to adjust as well, but you'll get the hang of it. And you can view the manual by going to it's page in the steam store, the link is in the lower right corner. --DragonJTSLeave me a message 02:38, November 12, 2010 (UTC)
