Original post[]

In order to reduce the workload of our admins, I'm looking for a few non-admin users (3 at least) who can be granted permanent chat moderator privileges. Candidates should be suitably mature (i.e. use the privileges fairly and responsibly) and be active regularly in chat.

If you have any candidates in mind, please post them in the "Nominations" section below, preferably with a short explanation why you think the user would make a good chat mod. In addition, please make sure you let the candidate know of his/her nomination and get him/her to confirm that he/she would be up for the task below your nomination.

Similarly, if you would like to support or oppose a specific candidate, please use the "Feedback" section. Candidates will need at least 3 support votes to be considered.

Location request (what country you're from)[]

I would like to ask the participants to add their country (or state, even better) to their name. That way people may get a vote and 'shifts' can be even better distributed I think. Jspoelstra 17:01, July 28, 2011 (UTC)

Also, I would appreciate it, if the participants could add the timeframe they expect to be on the chat in general, local time.

Times available: Can be on near the whole day (usually from like 10:00 - 11:00 am untill atleast midnight) unless at college.

Jasper42, (because you didn't say we can't nominate ourselves). I'm a trustworty user, proven by my rollback rights, however I am not an admin (therefor fit the correct status), I did once put an admin request in and had alot of positive feedback in it but, if I remember correctly it came down to I needed more time. I humbly come before you to apply for a role as a chat moderator. I am on chat a lot of the time and notice rule breakers, and people being offensive often. I have actually been on this wiki for a very long time. Since the release of Fallout 3 actually. I visit chat regulary, make sure nobody bullies on this wiki, and don't have any problems with any of the Vault's users. I just want to make sure that this chat makes us more productive as well as providing a fun experience and making The Vault the number one wiki. I take no offense if you don't vote for me or vote against me but if you have been here for a while, you know I don't insult and uphold The Vault's rules. I hereby nominate Billy because I think only second to Scarface, he has spent the most time in the chatbox. And I've seen his talkpage, posts to others and correspondence with myself and noticed he has a mature attitude, can defend well for himself, and would make good judgment when someone needs to be chatbanned. I belive that I would be a great choice as I am on the chat often and I'm mature, honest, and never allow my own bias to attack users for no reason. I am a good and devoted user that has never once been banned on this wiki or kick banned from the chat and I would do the best I could to make sure that no one is ever bullied or trolling on the chat. The only downside is that unlike Scarface and BillyOcean I have a job in which I am unavailable from 2:30 PM to 2:30 AM. I hope this doesn't seem too biased (because of the self nomination) but yeah. I think that I would make a great chat moderator, primarily, because of my constant activity. I am a very active user of The Vault, and I have enough experience to know the rules. I possess many good qualities, and I am easy to communicate with. I also boast something that others may not, which are my unusual activity times. I am generally on chat when no admin are present, as a result of my Australian time zone. I am also a very friendly and responsible person, and I would not abuse my rights. I therefore think that I would make a suitable candidate for the position. Times available: During days I'm not in school, anytime from 12:00pm-2:00am. School year - Most likely 7:00pm-10:30pm, but only on the weekdays.

I believe chat moderator is the perfect job for me on this wiki because I don't know much about templates, etc to be an administrator. Right now, I am frequently using the chat and I have a good attitude towards fellow users, unless, of course, they decide to insult another individual or group of individuals, which is where I come in... that is, IF you guys decide to make me a chat moderator. Times available: During the summer/weekends other times of the year, 4:00pm-6:00am EST. School year - 5:00pm-2:30pm EST, but thats only on weekdays.

I think I would make a good chat moderator because I respect other users rights, and have yet to commit a serious act against the wiki. I have only done one thing which has deserved a chastisement from an admin, which was removing from a talk page what I believed was giberish. However, the admin disagreed. I respected his decision and did not argue with him. So far, I have encountered many trolls and spammers who would come around late at night when admins werent around to stop them. I actually proposed this idea a while back to Ausir but he never responded (its titled a little chat secruity team if your interested in taking a look), i would make an excellent chat moderator because i dont get invloved in the fights and i most certainly listen to both side's of the partys problem, im very paitent and have been wanting to help lift the burden of the chat problems when it comes to spam and insults, so please allow me to help solve the problems and become apart of the solution oh and im always on the chat constantly. I have been told by other people on the chat that I would make a good moderator. When I log in, which I try to every day, I am usually found on the chat. I try to be polite and helpful and I always inform admins of trolls whenever I see any on the chat. Some include User:URCOJ and recently User:NPCwars. I also listen and respect other people's ideas and values, and try not to get involved in any arguments which may arise. Also, I try my best on the wiki to stop vandals and trolls as it is. I feel that I would make a great chat moderator. This isn't my first chat site: I've been on a couple others before, so I understand proper chat behavior. I may have a low edit count, but that's because I am usually in the chat room. On other sites, I've chased away more trolls than I care to remember, and I'm not even a moderator on them. I have been using The Vault's chat since the first day it was up, and I am usually on it every day. I'm also on late at night; I like to chat from my iPod when I'm not able to use a computer. Its oaky to deny me but i think i could make a good chat mod. I don't take kindly to trolls and would never ever abuse my power. Im friends with some people on the chat, I may not really know them but they don't hate me :). I would not wait for a troll to keep trolling for if they ever start trolling then the get a insta kickban. I do like being on chat however my computer does play up sometimes so trolls may not get insta kickbanned but it would be preatty quick. While Jasper may not be the most active, he defiantly fits the bill criteria wise. The thing is for me, being active isn't a issue as there isn't a max limited number of places for chat mods. You have to get along with people who use slang on the chat like me! And anons. While some anons are annoying and some are ok, don't think you see one bad anon and claim all anons are bad. So you don't seem to be a great people person. User:Gunz of liberty
- Errrr.... anons cant use chat, they can only view it. Additionally, under IRC chat rules, which are pretty much being applied to chat since there are no dedicated rules. I've seen scar on the chat, he is a good person so him abusing power is VERY unlikely. Based on the feedback and times of availability, I've granted chat moderator rights to:

Runner-ups are EB683 und ButterflyKiss; should the coverage in the US or Australian timezones prove insufficient, they will receive chatmod rights as well.
