SergeantDornan: I was just wondering if there is anyway at all to bypass the damned 14 year time-limit in this game? I mean, I beat the game and just want to chill, guard caravans and have some fun exploring, but after 14 years, game over. I never did like this, and am finally tired of dealing with it. Is there anyway around this at all? Thanks. --SergeantDornan 22:26, February 16, 2011 (UTC)
- Yes, it's called sfall ([1]).
- sfall is a "engine tweak" and incorporates countless fixes and features for Fallout 2. Regarding the time limit there a few options, I will quote them here (everything sfall related is configured in a file called "ddraw.ini"):
- Time limit in years. Must be between -3 and 13
- Set to 0 if you want to die the instant you leave arroyo
- Set to -1 to remove the time limit, and automatically reset the date back to 2241 each time you would have reached it
- Set to -2 to remove the time limit without resetting the date. The game will lock up on 8th of March 2255
- Set to -3 to remove the time limit, automatically reset the date, but override fallouts GetDate function to return the correct year
- Timelimit=13
- Time limit in years. Must be between -3 and 13
- If you play Fallout 2 on a modern machine, you should install sfall anyway. I also recommend using the Fallout 2 high resolution patch. -- ryz (talk) 05:07, February 17, 2011 (UTC)
Thanks alot for the info, I will certainly look into getting that patch, as I AM running it on a modern system. I appreciate the quick reply, thanks :) --SergeantDornan 06:50, February 17, 2011 (UTC)
