Forum:Rich Merchants ??
I have found a way to become rich without cheating in Fallout:NV.
I go to my local Gun Runners Branch, spend about 10k on buying all of Vendortrons armors. I then head to the Mojave Outpost and have Major Knight repair all of the items i just bought, for around 30k, then go behind him, make a save, and pickpocket him, and if i fail, load back, to get my 30k back and essentially get free repairs. There is but one problem.....Im running out of merchants to sell to! I sell back to Vendortron at the Gun Runners Branch and can sell his 8k plus the 10k i spent there...i then go to hoover dam and sell to Quartermaster Bardon, who has like 2.5k but i always buy ALL of his .308 rounds and his .45 - .70 Gov't rounds for my weapons and end up getting rid of like 5k of the armors there, and then go to the guns merchant at the I-88 trading post and sell her 8k, but now that i have taken this method to a much higher level ( as in making 25k caps per run) i ran out of merchants to sell to! i know i cant wait 3 days for restoking time, but that is very tedious, so i ask you, where are some rich merchants, who have 5k+ caps, that are reachable when siding with the NCR?Xboxboy17 20:18, June 21, 2011 (UTC)
Btw, this is a VERY effective method of making money. I started with 40k caps and now have 200k caps, and have only spent probably 50 minutes doing this method.Xboxboy17 20:18, June 21, 2011 (UTC)
I'm having trouble believing this... not the story part the pick-pocketing 30k. even with 100 sneak a stealth boy and 10 luck I can never get over 20k... But awesome idea, but I think you should go to my page and watch my video on how to get money. --Xa3 20:11, June 21, 2011 (UTC)
I usually try like 10-15 times before getting my caps back Xboxboy17 20:17, June 21, 2011 (UTC)

Which of them is the richest tho? Xboxboy17 20:27, June 21, 2011 (UTC)
lol Idk (Having over 200 million caps I don't pay attention to it, I just buy buy buy...) :P I'd go with the Gun Runners, the BOS Quartermaster, the ncr Quater master, and the khan armory --Xa3 20:37, June 21, 2011 (UTC)
if ur on XBL, could i invite u to an XBL party an talk to u about that caravan video for help plz? lol Xboxboy17 20:40, June 21, 2011 (UTC)
Ummm haha I use Major Knight alot and recently pickpocketed 109,805 caps off him (all spent by me in the past having him repair my things...I didn't know they stayed in his inventory. That shot me from 220,000 legit caps to about about 329,805 caps in the blink of eye
lol yeah, but I don't have a mic anymore my 4th one broke...but my GT is II XA3 II <--Those are i's you could always send me a message on my talk page if you are having troubles with the caravan one. --Xa3 20:43, June 21, 2011 (UTC)
I will try ur talk page thing, and dont u hate how flimsy xbox mics are?Xboxboy17 20:45, June 21, 2011 (UTC)
I find it funny how people come up with all these ways of making caps when if you simply sell all the excess armor and weapons you pick up in the game you will make more caps then you could ever spend. I have about 500,000 + caps right now and I honestly don’t even try to make them.
I’ve also spent at least twice that much in the game. I made it a goal to have 10 of every non-unique weapon, armor and clothing item in the game. (all fully repaired) I also have every weapon mod available for all those weapons as well. Now when it comes to the more common stuff you can simply pick them up as you go, but with the higher end weapons and armor you might find one or two but the rest you have to buy.
I’ve gotten to the point where, aside from ammo, there is absolutely nothing in the game I could spend caps on anymore. In fact the only thing I do buy is beer and Nuka-Cola. Not that I use them, I just figure you can never have to many of either of those in your fridge. ReapTheChaos 16:19, June 22, 2011 (UTC)
Sorry, but how come this "Major Knight method" isn't cheating? OK, allright, it's not cheating, just an exploiting. '_' Seriouslly I don't understand the fixation with money, the good weapons are level dependent, so even if you have 50.000 caps at level 2 you still need to be satisfied with 9mm/10mm pistols, Varmint rifles, Cowboy Repeaters, .357 Magnum and so on to buy. The good weapons are founded in the wasteland or doing quests, the only weapons you really have to buy it if you don't wanna steal or kill a faction NPC and fail a quest are the Brush Gun and Riot Shotgun. All other weaponry is obtainable throughout the game world.
I simply don't waste my time anymore with higher luck, Jury Rigging and such for making money, it's so easy to sell 10mm pistol in half condition or Nuka Cola and earn a shitload of money that is lame trying this cheating/exploiting methods. Brfritos 02:15, June 25, 2011 (UTC)
I read in a faq and verified that when you buy an implant if you open the Docs barter menu sell or buy something exit and buy your implant she will then have all the caps you spent the next time you open her barter menu until her inventory resets. This makes implants super easy definitly cheating.Cpanda 00:53, June 26, 2011 (UTC)
WEll I for one can believe that Knight is pickpocketable. I used him to repair everything for the span of my entire game on my main account, one day I walk in, trying to get the Artful Pocketeer achievement (Pickpocket 50 people)and pickpocket Major Knight, and I see that he has 109,800 caps on him from me using him so much. And I stole them on the first try too haha
lol well maybe I should re try Knight, the last thing I remember is trying to steal back my 30m off Dale at the fort.--Xa3 02:12, June 27, 2011 (UTC)
