Forum:Specs of Comps used by Devs
Recently I tried reinstalling Fallout 3 and getting several of the most popular mods. I found the Fallout Interoperability Project (FOIP) and used the associated mods with their interoperability patches and such. It was a good experience, but I still had the same regular crashing as I did when I last played Fallout 3. If you're interested, I get two kinds of crashes: a) the CTD that triggers the Error Report to Microsoft but doesn't provide any useful info on what caused the crash, and b) the BSOD that points the finger at the Nvidia driver.
This isn't a thread about solving my crashes though (unless you know how). What I'm really interested in learning is what the specs are of the computers Obsidian is using to make Fallout New Vegas. I'd like to know this info to see if there's anything I can do hardware- or software-wise to hopefully ensure my experiece with NV is crash-free. Is this the kind of thing that is already known, or that I could get answered in a forum. If a forum, whose, Obsidian's (which looks really messy and unmonitored) or Bethesda's?
And again, just in case, please don't reply with basic stuff to try for my crashes. I've searched for solutions since release and spent several weeks going back and forth with Bethesda's tech support and even they couldn't figure it out and eventually just gave up. I'm primarily focused on the future, on New Vegas, and trying to get my machine to match what the devs used to make it so that it should run smoothly with no problems. - Try and get a new graphics/physics card. –User_talk:AreYouGoingToEatThatNuke? 22:42, May 26, 2010 (UTC)
- First, that's not very useful. I have an nvidia 9800 GT. Fallout 3 required only a 6800. I have no video problems with any other game I play, so I'm nearly certain it's not the card. Second, though I appreciate the effort, I'm primarily interested in where to find the specs of the comps the Obsidian devs are using to build New Vegas. Servius 01:16, May 27, 2010 (UTC)
