The Gatling laser is a heavy weapon in Fallout 76.

Characteristics[]

The Gatling laser is a rapid firing automatic heavy weapon. It uses fusion cores as ammo, and each full core houses 500 shots. Reloading the Gatling laser is slow, and the weapon must "spin up" before it starts firing.

While the reload animation looks like it ejects a core and inserts another, this does not occur. Reloading can be done frequently without losing any ammo. All cores always stay in inventory. Reload adds the number of shots based on the core in inventory with the highest percentage.

  • Affected by the Grounded mutation.
  • Could not spawn as Quad explosive, as the explosive effect was made legacy on energy weapons before the quad affix could exist on them.
  • Like all other weapons, crafting a Gatling laser creates contextual ammo for the weapon, which in this case is Fusion cores. This means that crafting Gatling lasers can be a cheaper alternative to crafting fusion cores manually, which requires an assortment of flux.
