The harpoon is for use in weapons in the Fallout 4 add-on Far Harbor.

Characteristics

Used for the harpoon gun, the sharp edge makes it convenient for fishermen to slay the beasts of Far Harbor without damaging the target's meat.

Weapons using this ammunition

Locations

  • Can be bought from most traders on the Island.
  • May be found in ammo crates.
  • Dropped by enemies using the harpoon gun.
  • Harbor Grand Hotel - Three can be found embedded in a submerged sailing vessel with the mast sticking above the water due east. Two are piercing the deck next to a harpoon gun and one is sticking out of the stowage area next to them.
  • Longfellow's cabin - Two harpoons can be found embedded in a whale in a boat on the northern shore.
  • MS Azalea - Two can be found in a shipping container with wall cots on the starboard (northwest) side of the main deck.
  • Oceanarium - Three can be found in the adjunct building containing the collapsed whale skeleton. One is in the lobster cage by the mannequin. One is on the opposite end in a shattered display case, with the third being on the floor next to said case.

Notes

  • When using the flechette mod for the Harpoon gun, each shot will only take one harpoon while killed enemies will have as many as 5 harpoons to loot. This can be used to slowly accumulate harpoons without investing in Scrounger. This only works on the Island. Scrounger does not aid in spawning harpoon ammo in the Commonwealth. Also, there is no way to recover harpoons fired from a harpoon gun with the Explosive effect.
  • Harpoons fired into surfaces can be used as makeshift "stairs."
  • Two harpoons can be found embedded in a whale corpse on a grounded boat north-northeast of Rayburn Point. Because the boat is beyond the zone's boundaries, the harpoons can only be reached by disabling borders in the game's "Fallout4.ini" file.
