The sentry bot toy is a cut miscellaneous item in Fallout: New Vegas.
Characteristics
The sentry bot toy is a fully articulated miniature replica of the sentry bot. When picked up it has no effect, simply occupying the player's inventory. However, when dropped the sentry bot toy will follow the player around. Though it is mobile it lacks the ability to attack, and will flee if involved in combat. When not moving the sentry bot toy will periodically change poses, as though checking its equipment and functionality.
The sentry bot toy can be damaged and destroyed, most commonly if something attacks it. Once this happens it will no longer follow the player, though it can be picked up and dropped as normal. It is not possible to repair the sentry bot toy once broken.
Locations
The sentry bot toy was cut from the final version of Fallout: New Vegas and is only available through the use of console commands.
Bugs
Once obtained, the Sentry Bot Toy will continually follow the player around unless it becomes broken or is taken into the player's inventory. Notably, it will continue following the player even if it has been placed in another container or a companion's inventory. This can lead to a situation where the player has multiple Sentry Bot Toy objects in inventory, as well as one following them around.
