Hi Folks

As a part of the Junkradio project, we've been looking at ways to get music and stuff on the wiki. As I've reported before Licensing has been a pain in the butt.

However, we have Das Plan B ready to go. Just click here:

The Nukapedia Spotify Playlist

At the moment, I've just added a bunch of Inkspots, Lois Armstrong, Frank Sinatra and The Chordettes (Mr Sandman) songs; Leon's looking at how we can stick a "play" button on the wiki. Its not quite the live radio we were hoping for, but we can get to phase 2 eventually.

I'll try and add stuff regularly, in the meantime, if you have a special request, name it and I'll get it on there. Richie is also adding a lot of entries. We have a small player, and a full player able to be added to pagesAgent c (talk) 19:45, June 4, 2013 (UTC)

Policy page

I'll publish a policy/guideline page for this later today, but guidelines for adding songs are:

  • Appeared in a Fallout game
  • Is a song by an artist who appeared in a fallout game
  • Is a song by a contemporary of those who appeared in game.

Songs that appeared in a Fallout game should be placed higher (closer to 1) on the playlist as people using the in-wiki app do not seem to have shuffle mode enalbed. The rest of the tracks should be muddled up to provide variety.

Song 1 should be "I dont want to set the world on fire" by the Inkspots (as it appeares in F3, and was intended to be in F1 instead of Maybe), unless there is a particular special event encouraging another track to be played (eg - if F4 is announced).

Comments

I've been trying it out but I've been returned with a "Spotify is not available in your country" notice. Is this something on my end or is it just plainly not available in Canada? --The Old World Relics (talk/blog/contributions) 20:25, June 4, 2013 (UTC)
EDIT - I just checked Wikipedia and it does indeed seems it's not available in a number of counties, Canada included. Kinda sucks, but what can you do I guess. --The Old World Relics (talk/blog/contributions) 20:26, June 4, 2013 (UTC)
Spotify is available in Andorra, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Mexico, Monaco, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Singapore, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and the United Stateswikipedia

I'll keep an eye out for a more global solution. Agent c (talk) 20:27, June 4, 2013 (UTC)

We had a request in chat (I'll let you all guess from whom) for an Enclave themed version as well. What I'll do is I'll roll this into the Housekeepign vote at the end of the week to adopt this as interim solution, and then create a second playlist. 158.230.100.102 14:09, June 6, 2013 (UTC)

Dear anon, how are you accessing the chat feature? You must have an account to use that feature. Richie9999 (talk) 14:17, June 6, 2013 (UTC)
