The Military Police Corps was the uniformed law enforcement branch of the United States Army, responsible for carrying out investigations, apprehending soldiers, prisoner management, and other duties.

Background[]

The versatility of the Military Police Corps led to MPs being increasingly used in security and staff roles at military installations. These included internment camps, such as WRA site PA-32 site (under the supervision of a chief MP)[1] and black sites like RB-2851. MPs were typically not informed of the exact nature of the experimentation, receiving only necessary, rudimentary information.[2] Military Police officers also acted as internal security personnel for the Pentagon.[Non-game 1]

After the Great War, many former MPs joined survivors and formed new factions, such as Marcus of the Responders.[3]

Appearances[]

The Military Police Corps is mentioned in Fallout 3,[4] its add-on Broken Steel, the Fallout 4 add-on Automatron, and in the Fallout 76 update Wastelanders.[5]

Behind the scenes[]

The Brotherhood Honor Code would have identified Roger Maxson as a Military Policeman. The disk was never implemented.

He followed me into the army and became an MP, then got out and moved to Morgantown. Signed up with the police. Back then, I was still living in Cincinnati. We'd talk on the radio. He tried to get me to come out here and join the Responders more than once. I do miss him."
