The nautical radio signal is a radio station in the Commonwealth in 2287. It can be picked up after extending the satellites at radio tower 3SM-U81. It is a distress signal from the captain of the Western Bell vessel, which suffered a blackout and became stranded in rough waters. Due to the aforementioned blackout, the communications system inside the vessel did not work, which caused the captain to panic.

Characteristics[]

The signal source is a ham radio in the cabin of the Western Bell vessel, a small white and blue boat stranded on the shore of the lake to the north-northwest of Breakheart Banks. This radio signal can be discontinued by deactivating the ham radio set in the boat's cabin. There does not appear to be any indication as to what ultimately happened to the crew.

    • The relay tower broadcasting the signal sometimes returns to the retracted state without player input at some point after being activated. The signal properly ceases transmission if the ham radio is turned off after the satellites have been re-extended at the tower.
  • PCPC The door to the boat may appear solid, but the player will be able to clip through. This prevents the player from entering the cabin interior. To fix, save and reload. [verified]
