My Edits

Sorry about that. I am doing my best to keep it to a minimum. But I keep noticing some mistakes.

I still have some more edits to make on that page. Unless you can help me out.

For one. I can't find a single refrence that his name is "Elliot Nestings." Everything I can find says his name is simply "Elliot."

Before I corrected everything his page seems like something out of a fan fic. I have played Fallout Tactics countless times since 2001 and I am playing it now, going through the Quincy page with a fine toothed comb and nothing that was writen before is true.

You message to Styles

I'm not certain why you felt the need to admonish a user about the number of edits he's making per page, but there's folks who's job it is to issues warnings when they're needed. I would appreciate it if you would let them do their job, in this case, which would be nothing, because the user has done nothing wrong. There is no policy anywhere about how many edits a user can make. Unless you have proof the editor is achievement boosting, which you should bring to an admin, not the editor themselves, please don't leave any other editors messages like this. The Gunny  380px-USMC-E7 svg 05:14, December 2, 2012 (UTC)

"We need a developer's confirmation of this"

Honestly, since when has anybody needed a developer's confirmation for any item's reference on this entire web site? (referring to my http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Dandy_Boy_Apples edit). Can you honestly tell me with a straight face they got a developer's confirmation that "Cram" is a reference to "Spam" (http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Cram)? Or that Nuka-Cola is a reference to "Coka-Cola" (http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Nuka-Cola)?. All of these references are so blatant why would you need a developers confirmation to confirm it at all? This is ridiculously silly man, I'm getting so sick of this website. I'm not some stupid child; every time I make an edit it's based on sound logic and the secondary opinion of someone who agrees with me. But for some reason, every time, my edits are immediately removed from pages. I mean, literally, it took you less than two minutes to remove my edit. I just -don't- get it, why is every person on this website so absolutely trigger happy when it comes to a simple edit! I would think you people would want to make this website better!--108.183.41.123 04:35, June 5, 2013 (UTC)

Re: Problems

Why exactly did you choose to respond to me o.O? I have no beef with you, and I really don't want any beef with you. This whole thing has blown out of stupid proportions, it's rather silly really. Let me clear things up a little:

As far as the facts/speculation thing, even GarouxBloodline said it themselves:

"We do have geek-knowledge that does not need any sort of verification. For instance, That Gun in Fallout: New Vegas being in direct relation to the pistol used in Blade Runner."

Under the pretext of what you said, we should remove that Blade Runner reference since we didn't get it confirmed by a developer first. Because it's not one-hundred percent confirmed. And that's exactly my point. When I made that edit I was under the pretense that it was a stupidly blatant reference (just like the Blade Runner reference for That Gun). And if you read my arguments for it, then you should easily see why. Considering that, it was perfectly sensible to make the edit. Plus, I was making a minor edit to a really stupid page anyway when you think about it. It's not like it was the page for Super Mutants or Van Buren.

Now whether or not you agree with me that it's a blatant reference that doesn't need developer confirmation is completely a matter of opinion. The vibe I'm getting is that more people disagree (two versus three). Which is precisely why I haven't bothered to press the point on that subject any further or redo the edit (see I'm sensible).

Also I don't think you understood what I meant by bragging rights. I meant the tokens on this website specifically.

Now whether or not I entirely blame bragging rights for that edit's removal - no. I do blame bragging rights for it being removed so quickly though. Overall I was saying that nearly all my edits on this site I make tend to get removed, even when those edits remove some seriously bad or false information. I was linking the frustration I had from this specific edit being removed with all of the numerous edits that have been reversed on me over the years. So it raises the question, just why exactly are those types of edits being removed, and at that, so quickly? I'm literally talking a scant minutes here. If you don't think it's so they can acquire more of these tokens, then please explain to me why they are so overzealous. I have a hard time believing they devote their free time, not getting payed, stalking edits other people make simply for pure enjoyment. They need more motivation than that.--108.183.41.123 10:11, June 11, 2013 (UTC)

Oh, you're the initial jack wagon that removed my edit, heh, didn't even notice. Still stand by what I said though - I don't blame you for actually removing it. But I do question your judgement in removing it so quickly.--108.183.41.123 10:23, June 11, 2013 (UTC)

Veto

The response question being, how many time so we vote on the same issue? Ultimately as Jasper so kindly pointed out last night in chat, your proposed change doesn't actually fix the situation. Admins already have that veto/fiat right, I cant remember it being used much (to prevent tezzla from running for admin again in a short period is the only one I can recall). I did point out that the "other stuff" being removed was a factor in the vote, and that from where I was sitting there is no difference between that other stuff, and the specific dolan meme. Agent c (talk) 01:19, July 2, 2013 (UTC)

Ultimately though, its Limmie that you need to talk to. Limmie asked my advice, and it was basically that I felt it was close to the line when it comes to diferentiation and the vote doesnt solve the problem. Agent c (talk) 01:26, July 2, 2013 (UTC)

Denis, I understand you're upset about this, but I'd like you to understand that everyone else here had at some point a proposal they fiercely supported refused or overturned, and the frustration you're feeling is no different than the one we felt then. For instance, take the TP autoplay vote. I really liked having music on my TP and the ban on autoplay completely ruined it for me. Still, I didn't make a fuss about it, didn't try a revote or refused to enforce the ban. That vote had a much larger voter turnout, was technically stalemated, was much more controversial than the no dolan one, and was ultimately decided on the BC's fiat. Still, I took mine off and made sure everyone did as well, even though I was 100% against it personally and had plenty of room to make an uproar about it. I did that because as an admin the rules and the due process comes first, second and third. I accepted it, got over it and moved on. And I guarantee every other admin here can share a similar story. Would it sound reasonable to you if we all demanded revotes whenever a poll didn't go our way? Do you think we would get anything done in such environment? The thing is, we have to respect the results of community decisions, not nitpick excuses until we get what we want. I don't want to be sanctimonious nor patronizing, but you guys need to be a bit more mature about this.

Translation

Translations and names correlations are noted only if direct references are made in-game. For instance, it would be appropriate to put on Caesar's page that his name is a reference to the Roman Emperor Caesar, since it's directly stated as such in-game.
