Re:Forum

I have made the appropriate changes. While it was never intended as a rights-removal request or a motion of no confidence, I can understand how the original wording and intent would portray it as such. --Skire (talk) 22:39, January 13, 2014 (UTC)

Vote

Isn't that what voting no is for? When the votes are actually put up, there will definitely be a no section to vote in on both options. ForGaroux Some Assembly Required! 04:00, January 14, 2014 (UTC)

Each vote only goes to its corresponding option. If someone votes yes on option 1? That means they support it. If someone votes no on option 2? It means they don't support it. Even if someone votes yes or no on one option, and then they choose not to vote on the other option, it still doesn't change that they either voted yes or no on at least one of them. Hell, if they want too, they can vote yes or no on both (or neutral). It just seems redundant to me to have a third vote specifically to vote no on, when you can already vote no on the others. ForGaroux Some Assembly Required! 04:33, January 14, 2014 (UTC)
I did answer your question. No one is being forced to vote twice. Each vote is a standalone, and doesn't affect how the other one ultimately turns out. Just because someone votes no on the Admin option, without voting on the Patroller option, doesn't mean that they support the Patroller option. That doesn't even make sense - it would require the Bureaucrats to make assumptions. ForGaroux Some Assembly Required! 04:41, January 14, 2014 (UTC)

Reviews

Read over your sandbox. Looking forward to seeing how it turns out. I'll fully admit that maybe I'm being too idealistic with this concept. But I figured it'd be in our best interests to at least see what the community thinks about such an ideal. ForGaroux Some Assembly Required! 21:48, January 15, 2014 (UTC)

From my end, everything looks about right. However, I'd definitely give 69 a ring, as we got to talking a few days ago, and we were discussing how a few of his original points weren't being addressed. It is his deal, so I want to make sure he's getting represented properly. ForGaroux Some Assembly Required! 21:54, January 15, 2014 (UTC)

It looks fine, and I suggest we get started on voting very soon; this topic has been here for quite a while. Everything I want to say I'll add to a separate forum, and, yes, we can keep the vote to just what's been discussed in the forum already. 69.l25 (talk) 22:04, January 15, 2014 (UTC)

Looks alright to me, I suppose. Maybe it's because of my relative youth, but three years still seems like a ridiculously long time for a review >_> --Skire (talk) 23:34, January 15, 2014 (UTC)

We could always add in an option for shorter years. Other than that, do you think we're ready to put up a vote? 69.l25 (talk) 23:49, January 15, 2014 (UTC)
Yeah, sounds good. Thanks! --Skire (talk) 00:01, January 16, 2014 (UTC)

Dialogue files

Forwarded from Paladin's talkpage
Good news. I got an offer from Theodorico over the Russian wiki to take a look at the FO3/FNV dialogue files and he can make a program that would automate the conversion. So it's best to wait until he gets it running and then we can assemble some workforce. 22:43, January 17, 2014 (UTC)

Quest charts

Do you have any idea why our quest charts are messed up? The branches aren't always visible anymore, like in Reilly's Rangers (quest) and lots more. The colspan appears to have something to do with it. Jspoel Speech Jspoel 18:36, January 19, 2014 (UTC)

Porter thread

Are you still going to vote on the Porter thread? Time's almost up. Jspoel Speech Jspoel 23:36, January 19, 2014 (UTC)

Chat

Hi Gunny. I noticed you pinged me in chat earlier today. Do you still need me? --Skire (talk) 23:22, January 20, 2014 (UTC)

Expression errors

We are getting expression errors on newly edited pages, similar to a year ago. Just asked Wikia to take a look at it. Must be a problem with the infobox. Nuclear weapons, which was just edited, is still ok. Also asked them about the chart problem. Jspoel Speech Jspoel 23:49, January 20, 2014 (UTC)

Clarification

Hi Gunny. Chat was hectic and I initially had a problem distinguishing between the review vote we have now that the review I asked for. But I wish to clarify: I am requesting a performance of my job as an admin over the last year. I saw something on the Graveyard wiki that resembled it, but then realised it was something else. I couldn't tell if what you said in chat was serious or jocular. If you do not want to make another one, that will be the end of it. I just want a definite yes or no. --Skire (talk) 02:03, January 21, 2014 (UTC)

Understood. And thanks for the quick response. --Skire (talk) 02:12, January 21, 2014 (UTC)

Visual error

I found something really weird today:

Visual error

I checked the history of the page, the edit Tocinoman did before that edit, everything was fine, and after that edit, this screen came up. Checked with multiple page refreshes. After I undid his last edit, it was all back to normal, and the history also no longer displayed this... I have no clue what caused it, but I thought it might have been best to pass this on to you. Maybe you can explain it? - Greets Peace'n Hugs (talk) (blog) 13:54, January 21, 2014 (UTC)

So I ignore it next time, or I do an undo from the last edit and then undo the undo I just did?
PS: Chad would like to speak to you in chat
- Greets Peace'n Hugs (talk) (blog) 20:36, January 21, 2014 (UTC)
Ok, I'll post other pages here if I would come across similar pages. I should also screenshot like this time or is sending a link just enough? - Greets Peace'n Hugs (talk) (blog) 20:43, January 21, 2014 (UTC)

Response from Wikia

The chart issue is a Chrome rendering issue, apparently. Not sure if this is how Chrome will be handling this from now on, or whether it's a bug. Essentially, Chrome is collapsing table rows that have no data in them... this is sensible in a sense. You can fix that in the meantime by ensuring your template adds values within those empty rows.

Can you check the {{Chart}} template and see if you can insert the value? Expression errors are gone, just lasted half an hour. Jspoel Speech Jspoel 16:10, January 21, 2014 (UTC)

not sure if this is about the same problem, but the screenshot taken above this post, is from Firefox - Greets Peace'n Hugs (talk) (blog) 16:21, January 21, 2014 (UTC)

Both comments were added after it was decided that all discussion be halted in that forum. I informed each user that their comments could go back up immediately after the halt is lifted, and I had no intention of leaving them out for good. As the people on the forum are trying to prevent discussion as of right now, I ask that comments added after our decision to put the discussion on hold be removed for now to prevent any intensive to further discussion. 69.l25 (talk) 01:09, January 22, 2014 (UTC)

Re:Talk page deletion

That was not the place to leave the user a note. Talkpages are not for that user discussing issues he or she encountered in the game; additionally, none of their problems even pertained to the article's subject. I did, however, add the bugs they spoke about into the proper articles, so there's no problem. 69.l25 (talk) 21:33, January 24, 2014 (UTC)

Want to contact the user and ask them what they meant? If there's no response, we only have what they wrote as a reference, and what they wrote mentioned campfires and workbenches; they could have meant to post it under the workbench talkpage and posted it under reloading bench by mistake, but I wouldn't get too involved in any theories. 69.l25 (talk) 21:52, January 24, 2014 (UTC)
Well it did violate the policy. I didn't remove it because it was off-topic, I removed it because it said, "This happened to me on my personal playthrough." Was it a bug? Sure, but we have a "Bugs" section for a reason; even if they clarified in their post that the bug was with the reloading bench, this report would only be moved to the "Bugs" section. 69.l25 (talk) 22:14, January 24, 2014 (UTC)

Hey, I've been taking that programming class in school, and while I may not have the greatest grade in it, I know some java stuff if you'd like to see what I could possibly do on the wiki. Later best friend, Dead Gunner's SMG JPG1 "Semper Invictus" 23:05, January 24, 2014 (UTC)

A thank you

While we didn't exactly leave on a good note, I want to thank you very much for letting me know about my account. I've fixed the issue as much as I know how and I appreciate the help a lot. Dialogue files progress

I've created 9 FNV dialogue export files, for the characters with the most lines. When they are created, they get a name DialogueExport<name character>.txt. I suggest we leave the DialogueExport out for the name we're gonna use. You can see the results and naming in Category:Fallout: New Vegas dialogue files. Theo asked me a complete export so that's what I did. He then uses his bot with this as result, for Caesar. I've done extensive research on which columns we need and come up with User:Jspoelstra/sandbox1. It's similar to what TV has. I'm going to ask Theo to put these 9 files into tables and see how it looks. Possibly one column can be removed and one merged, first I'd like to see how things look. In the meantime I'll take a look at a fitting infobox. If you have a remark, let me know. Jspoel Speech Jspoel 22:03, January 25, 2014 (UTC)

Update

I see what you mean. I changed it back again. It's just that I hate unneeded red links and this one had been sitting there for just a bit too long on wanted pages. But now I see it can't be changed. It's for the main namespace article talkpage, not for the template talkpage. Jspoel Speech Jspoel 18:44, January 26, 2014 (UTC)

It's not such a big problem, but I'd rather not see it on admin pages. They're the ones most visited and profiled after all and leaves a bit of a bad impression. But I'm not willing to sacrifice wikiwide page load time for it though. Guess we'll have to order Garoux to take it down then :)?! Jspoel Speech Jspoel 19:06, January 26, 2014 (UTC)

Template Spree

Unfortunately, it became a case of running out of time and using the resources that were in front of me and making due. If you'd like to help in removing a bit of my inconsistency, then I certainly wouldn't scoff at such an offer. ForGaroux Some Assembly Required! 18:45, January 26, 2014 (UTC)

ChatBot

Why don't you have your chatbot in chat? Haven't seen it in four days now. Is there a reason for it? Jspoel Speech Jspoel 23:45, January 26, 2014 (UTC)

Bot

Here is my best shot.

Bot user: Quality Control

Operator: Lil' Miss Rarity

Software: Open source software hosted on GitHub.

Task(s): Perform wiki tasks based on commands given by flagged users on chat.

Details: The bot would sit on chat and have the abillity to perform administrative tasks based on commands given by authorized users. These commands range from adding messages on talkpages to deleteing unused images. The bot could also be used to convey short messages to users when one isn't present in chat.

Rights required: Sysop.

Concerning my vote

As per your chat request, I will leave a message here concerning my vote on 69's adminship request and his progression on addressing the issues raised against him over the last month. I'm afraid I'm going to change my neutral vote to a no, Gunny. Although he reminds me of how I was at that stage in my experience here. I know you remember quite fondly that I had a bad experience in conversing with a user who insisted on adding baseless speculation into weapons articles and would not listen to my attempts to inform him of our policy. That was indeed a one-off when I lost my cool and blew my first shot at admin by lashing out at the user in the chat and on his talk page. However, over the next few months, I maintained my composure and did everything in my power to ensure that I treated all users with the respect I expect to be given by others. This has carried over into my adminship, and it has become a part of who I am as a person. Three months later, I reapplied for the position and was unanimously voted in.

I think 69 is experiencing a similar situation. I think that he can work on the issues that have been raised to him over the next couple of months whether he is an admin or is waiting to reapply, and the result will be a very positive change. He has done wonderful work for the wiki thus far, and I am anxious to see what major contributions he provides in the future. Thank you for taking my input into consideration. Toci US Air Force Into the wild blue yonder... 05:06, January 27, 2014 (UTC)

While on the topic, I probably won't be available on the first of February, when the result would (probably) be published. I don't think it will make a difference, but if you plan on making the decision then and need something from me, I won't be available for most of the day. 69.l25 (talk) 05:30, January 27, 2014 (UTC)

All of those things are very much doable. I'll implement them straight away. Lil' Miss Rarity ]Open Source[ (talk) 23:23, January 27, 2014 (UTC)

Bot question

I saw your blog post about "bot accounts," and I was wondering, what is it? How does it work? Leea (talk) 12:59, January 28, 2014 (UTC)

Redlinked images

Is there a reason why you added all redlinked images in your sandbox? They're all missing the last character of the image name. Jspoel Speech Jspoel 16:01, January 28, 2014 (UTC)

Sandbox

Thanks for the great design, it's what I had in mind. Only thing that I could think of that could improve the overall layout, would be if the text bubbles could be have the same red border instead of the black (like border: thick solid red; color:red; in the top table). Anyway, already thanks a lot for the work, if the red border couldn't be fixed, no problem. Also great work on resizing the text bubbles! - Greets Peace'n Hugs (talk) (blog) 23:47, January 28, 2014 (UTC)

Talk pages

I have a funny feeling much of this was because of me. Let me explain: All two of the questioned talk page removals were done the same day a user made a post I deemed questionable. Of course the first removal was undone, but the second, although questioned at first, stays. I want to make it clear that I don't intend to clear out all talk pages, but when I see a recent change to one, I'll remove something if I need to. Plus, I'm going to clear any bug-related posts with Bleep. This will help clear everything up. 69.l25 (talk) 01:22, January 30, 2014 (UTC)

69.l25 Adminship Request

I've reflected on this past month here. It was designed to serve as an outline of how I personally approached the opportunity and what I find important. I've addressed the general concerns and why I am still seeking adminship. If you find it important, please take a look. 69.l25 (talk) 02:17, January 30, 2014 (UTC)
