The precision Gatling laser is a unique Gatling laser which is added to Fallout 3 with the add-on Broken Steel.

Background[]

This section is transcluded from Gatling laser. To change it, please edit the transcluded page.

In contrast with the L30 Gatling laser, this model is not only fully automatic and has a much larger ammo capacity, requiring a back-mounted battery pack, but was also mass produced for military use. While they entered service shortly before the war, they quickly became an important part of the arsenal, both of pre-War and post-War factions.

Characteristics[]

The main advantage of the precision Gatling laser is its high critical chance multiplier. Its effectiveness is dependent on the player character's base critical chance and whether the Better Criticals perk is chosen. It is also repairable with regular Gatling lasers.

At 3000 caps, it is the most valuable weapon in the game.

Durability[]

Just like the standard Gatling laser, the precision Gatling laser can successfully fire about 3125 beams, the equivalent of 13 reloads, from full condition before breaking.

Variants[]

  • Gatling laser - the standard variant found in the Capital Wasteland.
  • Vengeance - a more powerful Gatling laser, with slightly less durability.

Location[]

Armory master

This Gatling laser is only found on the armory master during Who Dares Wins, the final quest in Broken Steel's main plot line, where one must assault the Enclave-controlled Adams Air Force Base.

Upon getting into the mobile platform, search for the armory (not the one on the level the Lone Wanderer first enters), there are two entrances: One leads through the mainframe and the other through the main deck where the deathclaws are confined.

Near the entrance from the main deck, one will see an Enclave soldier, the armory master, wearing Tesla armor and a unique recon helmet called the composite recon helmet. He will be carrying the precision Gatling laser.
