RE: Concept art

Looking tidy in here now, sweet!

Anyway, I doubt it's an early sketch for the yao guai. If you look at early sketches of the Mirelurk, they look wholly different, but they kept the same name, I don't see why this would be uploaded under something other than yao guai if it were the same creature. In addition, there is already some very early concept art of the yao guai on the yao guai page, which seems very rough but was still marked as just that, a "yao guai", not a "magwai" or anything like that. I'm thinking it might have been some sort of variation of the yao guai, something involving a side quest with a named yao guai that was more powerful than a regular one. I'm not entirely certain. I guess I should see if I could get an official answer to it. -=KAG=-YELL AT ME 19:53, February 20, 2012 (UTC)

-An official document of the fateful events that took place in A.D. 2112-

T’was the year of our Lord 2112. The date on which Hawk’s enterprising company was founded was December 21st – 2112. Simon had always been fascinated in numbers and enigmas, mysteries. Thus we the Hawks, will celebrate the Palindrome Year, and indulge in vacation and festivities. The celebrating included a month of vacation, where the children needn’t go to classes, and workmen needn’t labour. Instead, the now quite populous Hawk tribe will gather under the moonlight and party through the night. People were to bring food and drink and share it amongst the tribe. Henry Normandy, an old friend of Hawk’s, took the chancellor position after Simon’s unfortunate murder. He called himself Trajan, Chancellor Trajan. And here is the inception of misfortune. Normandy, or Chancellor Trajan, was incredibly popular, as he administered justice in fairness, vied for equality amongst all, and set up a council of bureaucrats known as the Elders. Jeart Splos was the Head Elder. Together, new legislations were formed and kept separate from the ever sacred Lex Aeterna. All seemed to be going well until a member of tribe was murdered. He had been stabbed 21 times. Trajan called together an investigative team, selected from the brightest and most loyal men he had. It was lead by Head Elder Jeart Splos. The case was never closed, and investigation continued. What seemed to be a sporadic murder had turned serious when another victim was found. This time the victim was stabbed 12 times, along with the first victim, making 2112. To add salt upon wounds, the victim was Head Elder Jeart Splos. People began to fear, and panic and paranoia spread through the tribe like the New Plague. One more shocking detail was uncovered – in the mirror, written in Splos’ blood, was “Me capite, si potes” -Latin for catch me if you can. This reinforced the idea that the murderer was one of their own, and added to the tide of fear, infiltrating the Hawks. It is quite amazing what fear and paranoia can do. There was an unrelenting sense of distrust, and intense suspicion throughout the people. Many couldn’t sleep because of their hyper-vigilance. A few weeks later, a third and final victim of the Hawk serial killer had been found. To the horror of many, it was Chancellor Trajan who was found dead in his quarters. He had not been stabbed, but shot in the head. The weapon, a .44 Magnum, had been found next to the body. Dr. Marcius, the head physician, ruled it a suicide. They flipped the mirror in his quarters, and there was a message. It had not been the same message, mind you. It read, “Iustitiae vivo, interficio, morior.” –For justice I live, for justice I kill, for justice I die. That confirmed the peoples’ worst fears, and along with a secret journal, it was explained by an official address by the Elders. Chancellor Trajan, or Henry Normandy, had not in fact been a best friend of Hawk, but rather a rival within the same company. When Simon had turned out to be more successful, Normandy was thrown into an aeon of jealousy. Simon always came up on top, in everything. And when the rest of Normandy’s family perished in the nuclear arson, he was determined to “make things right”. Simon was quite oblivious of Henry’s intense jealousy, dipped in its own longevity. He even entitled the leadership of the tribe to Henry after his death. Normandy shows his gratitude by murdering Simon, so the leadership rights could be bestowed unto him sooner. To provide a good cover, Normandy did what was pleasing to the people, and what was generally considered “right”. The first victim was non-publicly challenging Normandy’s authority, claiming that leadership should be left to a vote of the people. He also insisted that the lack of democracy brought upon the apocalypse. Soon, Normandy felt that the investigation, led by Jeart Splos, was catching onto him. So he went ahead and killed him too. It was insinuated that Normandy had a degree of psychosis, mixed with extreme paranoia that led him to his actions including the taunting message on Splos’ mirror. This ended with his suicide, and he wrote that he felt like the world was closing on him, trapping him, just like how he felt during his time in the Corpus Christi Vault.

And so the big mystery had been solved. It had been one that cost lives, and forever changed the mentality of the Hawk tribe. But Simon had always been a fan of mysteries.

I wasn't purposively abrasive, though I did took a few liberties in tone because I thought we were friends, or at least friendly. We often had heated arguments in chat and never harbored grudges, at least AFAIK. I expected this time to be no different, but turned out it wasn't. Perhaps it was the lack of a "Toodles <3" at the end, go figure. Still, making that assumption was my mistake, and I'm sorry for that. But please cite one argument I got involved with while I shouldn't. There's none, because I only get involved with stuff put up on the wiki's official pages, which as an admin is not only my right but my job to do.
Ending a vote with "this place is a farce" is ridiculous because: 1. it's too vague to mean anything concrete, therefore pointless; 2. since it did not adress anything specific to the matter at hand, it was irrelevant to that vote; 3. it served only to stir up emotions, being essentially nothing but flamebait; and most of all, it's ridiculous because it's comming from you.
If this place is a farce, then you're one to be blamed for it. Stunts like this one you pulled recently are exclusively part of the problem. You may pat yourself on the back for that, but it was nothing but a childish and disruptive drama fest which only added to the problem. Your sollution to the drama problem was essentially a condescending and roundabout attempt to teach us an inane aesop that's barely worthy of a Sunday morning kid's cartoon. What helps us deal with drama is for us to be professional, objective, rational, and to stricly adhere to estabilished procedures, not to trown them out of the window whenever self-appointed gurus feel like putting up bizarre stunts. And you may go on about how much this place is a foolish show till the cows come home, but the fact is when we actually made the effort to curb the drama show, you turned a blind eye to it because the perpetrator happened to be your friend. Your then protesting against something you were an accomplice to is not only hypocritical, it's also outright ridiculous.
And for that matter, same goes for what you wrote. Most of it is either irrelevant emotional ranting which I don't give a damn about, unsubstantiated accusations, or meaningless boasts about your self appointed guru status and allegedly fearsome argumentation skills. Speaking of which, after all the chest-bumping I expected to see something constructive, or at least concrete. So far I'm not impressed. I say we drop this though, we obviously won't get anywhere with this. It's fine, Ci. He's still learning ;) I discussed it with him in chat already. Thanks for watching my back though. -SigmaDelta54(Talk) 23:43, March 25, 2012 (UTC)

Vault

I don't really like the Vault. I'm not big on editing. That place is almost entirely focused on editing (at least last time I was there) and they don't really have proper blogs, forums or chats. Also, I know hardly anyone there; they're mostly the old admins that I never interacted with (Nitty, ShadowRunner, Porter etc.) I appreciate the concern, and if I do decide to leave, I'll surely miss you. Besides, I'm going to have to leave sometime. Yes Man defaultUser Avatar talk 04:41, March 26, 2012 (UTC)

You have 15 votes now. ;) When you get the chance, I'd actually like to talk with you for a bit in chat. Doing some major re-vamps to SNM soon and I think it offers up the possibility of getting more users interested and in the know for whenever something is updated; such as content created by patrons like yourself. Dragon Skål! 06:23, March 29, 2012 (UTC)

Sounds good! Enjoy your tea time and I'll talk with you soon. ;) Dragon Skål! 16:19, March 29, 2012 (UTC)
Not entirely sure. I'm sort of busy at the moment being a house-maid, but I'll probably be free again in about an hour if that's fine with you. Dragon Skål! 16:49, March 29, 2012 (UTC)
I'm in chat. O: Dragon Skål! 17:42, March 29, 2012 (UTC)

Re-vamp

Hey there Ci! Just letting you know that I am running a complete over-haul of SNM and one of the aspects being changed is the look for our patrons. So I went through the liberties of providing you with a basic template. You're absolutely free to change any parts of it to suit your preferences at any time. :) If you want a look at what I've come up with so far, I'll go ahead and provide it for you:

On a side note... I can't seem to get this image to fill in properly without breaking the nav-box size limits. Feel free to use a better image to suit your needs. :P Dragon Skål! 05:36, March 31, 2012 (UTC)
What I meant is that it's a little small for the middle column compared to the other patrons, who's pictures fit in almost perfectly. Can't make it any bigger because it'll expand the nav-box. Alright then! Also, if you didn't know, you can add additional dialogue bars if you want. ;) I just made the first three as a starting point. Dragon Skål! 15:00, March 31, 2012 (UTC)

Re:Bonjour

Ah yes I forgot that it was Itachou, not Jspoel. That misconception most likely stems from the view that you and Jspoel seem to be good friends (as far as friendships on the wiki go) from what I've seen. And the "if you have a problem with me" wasn't totally directed at you, more so others (there's been quite a bit of... discontentment shown in chat recently). I simply want people to be candid and come face-to-face (internet style) about issues. And after reading over things, I do believe I could take it down a notch as it could seem rude, especially if I hadn't written it myself and was directed at me. All in all, I honestly thank you for this bit of advice, as ever since that unpleasant chat encounter due to my poor conduct on the fora I've also considered you a good friend (and poet :D). But could you explain to me what you meant by this: "...remember that not everyone is as intelligent as you (seemingly ;)) are"? --Skire (talk) 20:29, April 29, 2012 (UTC)

I hope you're not calling me stupid, but I'll just leave that as a seemingly benign joke. And about chat: certain people recently or not so recently have been "expressing" their "views" about me and a few others (mostly admins & 'crats) in chat. These are typically things that they would never say to my face, and it creates a sense of distrust and discomfort for me. You would be amazed at things people can say when the subject of their incessant complaining is oblivious... --Skire (talk) 20:42, April 29, 2012 (UTC)
I must say I am surprised that people talk maliciously about you, I can't imagine what there is to talk about in that sense... But for me it's always the same - I'm a power-hungry whore who is very oppressive and talks down to people consistently. And at one point there was even the "I over-protect pages pre-emptively and inappropriately", and rumour spread a little bit too. I usually find this out through other people who were present at the time or (coincidentally) if I join right after some slander (as the chat displays some of the most recent conversation prior to joining). After browsing some of the logs, it brought to light some of the things that were being said, and to me, that is quite frankly abhorrent. --Skire (talk) 20:52, April 29, 2012 (UTC)
It's fine, really. The periodic chat-bad-mouthing is far outweighed by the presence of those whom I prefer as company (you, Jspoel, Leon, Lims, et al.) (: --Skire (talk) 20:59, April 29, 2012 (UTC)
Why yes he was/is. In fact, he was one of the main people who had been saying the aforementioned things. I talked to him about it the other day and he passed it off as "being hot-headed". And I did mention it on the app (my first vote comment) but didn't want to elaborate as people could twist it to look like a personal vendetta, which it isn't. It simply is not the behaviour an admin should have... at all. And while those editing examples were relatively minor after all, things like these take up the majority of my vote. I hope you can understand where I'm coming from a little better now ;) --Skire (talk) 21:29, April 29, 2012 (UTC)
Yeah, I feel the same way. What's done is done. But that was why I got a little annoyed when people couldn't see why I was so... ardent in not wanting him to be an admin. I guess I focused too much on the edits, which weren't that important at all and could be completely disregarded even without much effect. My vote would have remained the same. For average users to gossip somewhat maliciously in chat? Fine. For an admin? Hell no. Everyone was so fixated on how he "is so nice" and "helpful" and "greets me every time I enter chat", they failed to see such a significant trend of behaviour that is generally agreed upon to be unacceptable for an admin. --Skire (talk) 21:49, April 29, 2012 (UTC)

Re:Pagina Colloquii

Thanks! And yeah I thought of that too haha :) It was in part inspired by your signature, actually. --Skire (talk) 19:20, May 1, 2012 (UTC)

Not like that, but as in using a classical language in the signature, which isn't very common. I liked yours so I thought I'd do it too, but in Latin and not Greek :) --Skire (talk) 20:29, May 1, 2012 (UTC)
Oh, I see. Too bad I never really got to meet this Itachou. But from what I've heard, he seems like a very pleasant guy. --Skire (talk) 20:55, May 1, 2012 (UTC)

Hmm

Many people mistake bluntness as talking down or being disrespectful to the person in question. I have confidence in my decisions and a lot of people can't handle that. Also, it is difficult to tell the meaning behind people's words over the internet. So it's being quite assumptious whenever anyone says I'm being disrespectful. I almost always say what I do with utmost respect. The problem is, I am straight to the point and I don't beat around the bush. Most people do not like that. But that's not really my problem. As for the quote you pointed out, what I did was not disruptive in the least. A little unpleasantness is not the same thing as being disruptive. And as an Administrator, being a little unpleasant to people tends to be inevitable when solving conflicts. Dragon Skål! 21:57, May 6, 2012 (UTC)

Because I'm not afraid to speak my mind. Maybe it's because most people here are so young and immature, but it seems like everyone is keen to shy away from problems and resort to just talking behind people's backs in chat. If I see a problem, I'm going to try and resolve it. And out in the open. I hate having my point weakened by having to explain myself so constantly, but at the same time, I sort of have to with the type of people that tend to frequent here. Dragon Skål! 22:06, May 6, 2012 (UTC)
What do you mean by anti-publically? Dragon Skål! 22:23, May 6, 2012 (UTC)
Blanket statements. -.- If you're going to say I contradicted myself, please list the examples. And yes, I am arrogant at times. So? I have proven again and again that I know the policies here and that I am here to improve and protect this wiki to the best of my abilities. I might be infamous here for defending my points, but have you noticed I've hardly ever been proven wrong? And I always admit it when I am proven wrong. And what's wrong with being unfeeling? I can't be a good leader unless I'm looking at everything neutrally. Not only that, but I don't know anybody here personally except one person. No one here is my friend, not in the true sense at least. I hate to say that, but no one can be a true friend when you only know them as a picture on a screen. As for reiterating upon what Al said, that was not hypocritical of me. He already made it public, which gives me every right to use it as an example. And I do have experience. I am older than many of the leadership here, and I have experience leading and knowing how to follow the rules given to me through work and growing up through band as 1st chair clarinet and sax player. (Jazz Band also.) I would like to point out that I'm not stating that I'm better than anyone. Someone having confidence doesn't mean the same thing as being egotistical.
If you don't have the time to prove your statements, then don't make them please. As for Clyde... I have utmost respect for him. The problem is, I end up arguing with him because he is constantly disrespectful towards me. For instance, I have never cussed at him once and my bare minimal insults were backed up with facts. Like when I called him a liar after he said he sent me a message and I proved it by going through my talk-page history showing that he never once messaged me before. Or when I called him a glory-hound after I had just finished banning someone and the incident was over and then he removed my ban template and overwrote my ban with the same exact time I had given him. Clyde, on the other hand, has insulted me numerous times. He has cussed me out and has personally attacked me. Then he threw a fit and took a short break while ostracizing me in his good bye blog. Hate to say it, but he's making it hard on me to show any sort of respect. Dragon Skål! 23:04, May 6, 2012 (UTC)

Look...

...I'm sorry. It's not like I'm doing these things to piss people off. I do them because I do what I must to keep this wiki running. I don't think I'm better than anyone. I most certainly don't think I'm the power player around here. I have to admit that by now I was hoping people would have realized that I do what I do because I care. I have never proven to the contrary. I do consider you and others here as friends though. Maybe not true friends, but you all are certainly not just images. I was just stating that sometimes it's hard to see past that. I guess I'll use this as a chance to just drop off the map here for awhile with the occasional edit or two. Start working on the Moose some more, maybe. Certainly won't leave though. :') Some things around here worry me, but Nukapedia will always have my loyalty. And I have proven that time and time again as well. Hope you don't think too badly of me though. I'm who I am though. And I like getting my point across is all. It's not an intentional means to get people riled up though. Hope you can understand that. Dragon Skål! 23:17, May 6, 2012 (UTC)

That's not a contradiction. :/ Anyways, yes, I suppose I shall have to take this as a learning experience. I admit I get over-zealous. I really shouldn't at times, but I still make legitimate points. The problem I think is, I am used to different environments than here. I grew up in an authoritarian house-hold, and I had to learn how to express myself in a way that no one can ignore. I push it at times, but until recently, this has always helped me get my opinion across in a way that everyone understands. I will try and control the way I word myself. But I can't really make any promises at the same time. I speak honestly, and I do my research. Dragon Skål! 23:34, May 6, 2012 (UTC)
I'm absolutely sure both Nukapedia and The Vault will get back on their feet once the next game is released. It will be nice having all of that new information to add here again. Haha, yeah I would never leave here unless certain forced me too. (Like the Navy thing) I think I'll just stay out of the politics for now. Dragon Skål! 23:47, May 6, 2012 (UTC
To generalize things, I believe I have only insulted him twice, and with pretty good reason. I will have to look back though and confirm this for myself. Dragon Skål! 23:51, May 6, 2012 (UTC)
Don't mind me! xD I think I've gotten too use to defending myself, so I get a tad defensive after events such as these. That and I'm still a little upset. Oh well. See you around Ci. I think I'm going to make myself some dinner now. Dragon Skål! 00:01, May 7, 2012 (UTC)

Yeah, I kinda figured :P It was just an inside joke though, nothing serious. I can understand why it would be considered offending, though.
