OK well that has given me allot to think about. Especially the effects of brain damage and psychological trauma. I think with some more research I can tweak my wording to justify the idiot savant effects I was looking for.
Spoiler alert. I am not sure I could ever see her being happy or any place really close to normal again.
- As far as her endings go after so many years of physical and mental abuse any ending for her would range from extreme darkness to at best just a kind of calm that might come with sense of security.
A tragic character that can only know more death, destruction and pain or at long last be shown what it is to be part of a family.

Had a bad day.
On my way to get a hair cut, this mourning, just some 12 or 13 blocks from my house this guy runs a stop sign and smashed the hell out of the front of my truck. He is on probation, of course driving on a revoked licence with no insurance. All I got is the legal minimum so the only way I will get it repaired is to pay for it my self.
At least the guy did not try to run. His car still could be driven at least, we went down the street where he lives, this part of the neighborhood is so run down it makes most trailer parks look like a gated community. So we get to his 3 room "shack" and dirty faced child runs out in his underwear, it was a sad situation all around.
This guy gave me all his information, you know name, phone number, driver licence, licence plate number and a vague promise to pay me a little each week. I believe he actually meant it but I doubt I will ever see a dime.
I could have called the police but putting him back in jail was not going to fix my truck either.. No matter what he is already worse off than I am so I excepted the dubious promise to compensate me for the damage. Maybe I will get some good karma. Who know.
So any way yeah it's been a bad day, I could use a distraction. I look forward to reading what you wrote about who's best to rule New Vegas. I will be back with my thoughts on it probably much later tonight or tomorrow at the latest.

As a fellow fan of Independence you are preaching to the of course. I agreed 100% with every point. If any I think I would have been a bit harder on the NCR..
- Here are a few thoughts that might help further drive your points home.
The NCR are unwelcome invaders that all open they say should go back home. They under pay and fail to protect their labor force in Sloan and Bolder city. Even the share croppers and folks at the Aerotech Office Park express similar complaints of a lack of support.
The NCR is spread so thin that they have even lost the confidence of their celebrated Ranger's leaders so leading Chief Hanlon to take matters in his own hands to deliberately falsify reports and spread misinformation to the NCR outposts.
Back west the NCR might be doing well enough but by the time they have stretched as far as New Vegas, no matter how good their intentions might have originally been, they have become ineffectual, mistrusted and openly resented. Even with Hover Damn under their control they could never hold it under these circumstances.

Yeah it really sucks to be with out transport. Especially when it was 100% his fault. He ran the stop sign, he hit my truck while he was uninsured, with a revoked licence while on probation. With a phone call I could have him in jail for at least 6 months but like I said this dumb ass is dirt poor with a family that's already living in a shack. Locking him up still would not fix my truck..
Too bad I can't write if off as a charity.. Oh well.. What would Buddha do ?

I have felt your Pain for years.
- Anonymous users seem to harbor the most resentment for members. It is so sad because they could so easily join.
Also as a point I do not wish to track but I personally believe to be an unproven fact. "Some members may at times purposefully not log in just to post an opinion that their name would not be linked to."
- Don't get me wrong here. I have at times posted when I thought I was logged in but was not. Still I always try to go back and make it right by owning up & say'n "The above was posted by me."
Folks & Anons alike can get caught up in the passion of the moment. Enjoy the debates, just try not to loose your self in the fight for what you feel is just & or honorable. I know because I did & using my own name I lost some member rights.

Re:Hardcore mode
I have played Hardcore mode and never really found it particularly more dangerous for the companions. Sounds like you are prepared for the inconveniences of keeping up with food, water & sleep. So over all I'd say beyond earning the award for playing in Hardcore mode it is just a matter of preference. Just have fun with it.
This is also a matter of preference & opinion but my best advice is to play Old world blues ASAP! It is challenging for a low level character but it dose have the best home base of all the games and the perks you gain will serve you well throughout the rest of the game.

Capitalization
Hello Brandon. Just giving you a heads up on some of your recent edits. I reverted them because you are capitalizing things that do not require capitalization. For instance, pre-War money is capitalized correctly as is sawed-off shotgun and glasses. If you are unsure about proper capitalization within an article, check the article of whatever you're unsure of. Leon de-capped the majority of articles a while back and for the most part they should be correct. Happy Editing!

For me the simple answer might be "never" The original sentence was literally 1,000 years.
I can't be mad because the thought of a millennium ban from chat over minor disagreements still hits me as more ridicules than mean.

- The answer to what war is complicated as I think most of my combat action was in what we called "Police actions" Small presidential ordered actions that never required congressional approval as their scale was limmited. I joined in 1984 back when Reagan was hot with the "War on Drugs" so Central America was my play ground even well into the 90 when we almost had a full scale war against Noriega so I spent some extra time in Panama city Panama as Military police until we rebuilt their government. I served all through the Golf War. My last action was in Afghanistan 2009-2010 and after nearly 28 years of combat arms I retired in late 2011.

Any way glad to here you are enjoying your re play through of NV.
- I recommend you really take your time with it and look for the subtle changes from your last run at it. Booth FO3 & New Vegas have many random encounters that don't always appear in the same place or it might be a different encounter from the last play through so a location that was dead in one game might prove interesting in another.

Songs which fit the New Vegas endings
Sounds like a blog able idea. Here is some thoughts, I hope they help.
- I can see The Sound of Silence for House and not just because that is one of my all time favorite songs.
- The song you picked for the legion "IMO" seems to modern and just dose not make me think of the Legion. I'd suggest some thing more classical perhaps some thing by Richard Wagner might fit them better.
- My best advice is give it a wee bit more thought then just have fun with it.

The reason I was suggesting it before was because you were talking about music that matches locations & it was exactly what I was doing for My Mr New Vegas story for the Apprentice comp. Hmm I might have to get back to you on some of that because I'm not always sure my self. My moods change & I am eclectic..
- I know I LOVED the ORIGINAL Movie Blade Runner (NOT THE DIRECTORS CUT), but I HATED the book it is based on "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?" .. As great as the movie was the book sucked three times as much with a horrendous stink .
- I loved all the Lord of the Rings Movies but I LOVED the books so much more.
- I like The shining with Jack Nicholson equally with Stephen King's book. In fact I found stuff in the movie I wish was in the book and stuff from the book I thought should have been in movie.
I'll have to get back to you on video games.. I've had many favorites & I've got a few listed on my steam wish list where I'm looking for a sale. Mostly I play Fallout 3 & NV but traditionally I have been a first person shooter fan.

PC Building
Haven't built one in a while, but the basics are pretty easy... if you're needing to use a lot of pressure to get the item in the slot, its probably the wrong slot.
Cos I'm a little out of the loop on parts I can't recommend specific parts, but I think Intel are slightly ahead of AMD on CPUs at the moment. CPU choice is probably the most important choice to make, once thats decided its going to dictate your choice of motherboard. GPU should be the next choice, as much as you can spend (bearing in mind how much power your case/PSU can give you). You can get away without buying a GPU and using the onboard graphics, but you can also get around on a bicycle.... Drop as much cash as you can into both of these.
When it comes to RAM, you want as much as your motherboard can take. Don't be fooled by the snazzy heatsinks or latency figures on RAM. It only makes a minor improvement in benchmarks if any at all - spend more on getting more of it, then spend anything left on other things rather than speed. Just buy whatever the cheap house band is, and make sure its the right size for the motherboard.
Hard drive - as big as you can get is generally right. If you're planning to play a lot of games on steam then you'll probably want a bigger, cheaper SATA drive than those fancy flash numbers. Flash is faster, but more expensive and smaller.
Optical drive choice is up to you -much of a muchness. Make sure you grab an OEM Windows kit as well.
I recommend CustomPC Magazine here in the UK for bits and stuff. PC Format I think also has a couple of sample rigs each month to base yours around.
For shops, I recommend Misco and Aria. A warning however, these companies typically sell to business customers, so the price you're looking at may be the Ex-VAT price (looks particularly the case on Misco). Make sure you are looking at the VAT price to avoid a nasty 20% shock on checkout (unless you have a VAT-registered friend who's willing to write it off against his tax bill). The guys at Aria are really good and will tell you if your bits will work together if you like.
