Giant ants are mutated creatures in Fallout 2.

Characteristics

Biology

Giant ants are large insectoids inhabiting the area earlier known as Northern California and Oregon, and tend to live in dark places, such as caverns, and can be found in Arroyo and Broken Hills. As they are insects they have three pairs of legs, and a powerful exoskeleton.

Gameplay attributes

Giant ants live in colonies, and as such almost always travel, or hunt, in swarms. On their own they pose only a minor threat to a player character, but in groups they may overwhelm a player and their party.

Giant ants are feeble adversaries, but shouldn't be underestimated by low-level players, especially not if the ants outnumber them greatly.

Tough giant ant

Tough giant ants are even more durable and powerful than their more diminutive brethren, and can pose a serious threat to low-level players - especially since they often accompany swarms of regular giant ants.
