All Melee Weapons (except thrown) and Unarmed attacks have a chance of knocking your target down.— In-game description

Super Slam! is a perk in Fallout: New Vegas.

Effects[]

Taking this perk grants a chance to inflict a "knockdown" effect with Unarmed and Melee Weapon attacks.

Notes[]

  • The added chance is 15% per attack with Unarmed or one-handed Melee Weapons, and 30% with two-handed Melee Weapons.
  • The perk does not affect 'automatic' melee weapons, such as the Ripper or the chainsaw.
  • This perk is one of the few ways to gain challenges related to knock downs in the game. The others are the Ranger Takedown, brahmin tipping, the fire axe, Knock-Knock, and Blade of the West (all three using the Mauler special attack, Blade of the West on crits also), and the companion Rex.
  • Enemies can be knocked down again even while they are already knocked down. Combining this with a weapon with high rate of attack can lead to situations where the enemy is unable to stand up again until they are killed.
  • Knockdowns can occur on killing blows, sending the corpse flying backwards. If this happens at the same time as a Bloody Mess death, disintegrating corpses can be flung unthinkable distances and/or pushed through solid objects.
  • If a Melee Weapon- or Unarmed-skilled NPC is knocked down while blocking, due to Super Slam or other causes, all subsequent hits on that fallen character will affect them as if they were blocking.
