Possible Reference to Chuck Norris?

Lucas Simms possibly a reference to a character played by Hayley Joel Osment in an episode of "Walker, Texas Ranger[1]? The following infamous part of the script would later become the subject of several internet memes:

C.D. Parker: And how are you doing, little partner?

Lucas Simms: Fine, and it's little visitor now.

Ranger Cordell Walker: [chuckles]

Lucas Simms: Usdi adadamdvhidohi is how you say it in Cherokee.

C.D. Parker: Oh, pardon my French, but I'll be damned.

Lucas Simms: Walker told me I have AIDS. [2][3]

What do we think guys? He bears more than a passing resemblence, no? Plus, his partner trivette was black...

So Where is he?

Lucas has disappeared for me, but I can't find him. Are there any notable locations where his body might be? Also, I don't believe he's dead because his son has no dialogue to suggest that Lucas is dead. (Though I've already finished the Power of Atom quest and saved Lucas from getting killed by Burke.) --Clean Up 21:22, 31 December 2008 (UTC)

-He could have wandered through a hole in the geometry. If you're on the PC, look at the article about Recovering missing NPC in Fallout 3 to try and get him back. Seal481 04:33, 3 January 2009 (UTC)

Simm's Death

In a preview it stated Mr burke can shoot and kill Simms, but that he can be saved

http://www.gamesradar.com/pc/fallout-3/preview/fallout-3-hands-on/a-20080714133932662026/g-20070327151320531089

Possible Bug: I went through the series of events that led me into Moriarty's bar, and Simms had just turned towards the door. I saw Burke draw his pistol, so I promptly shot him and killed him. He fired one shot, which hit me. However, I learned from Harden Simms that Lucas had died. His body wasn't in the bar, it wasn't outside the bar, it was next to the town gate.

He can be saved, but not if Burke gets off a single shot. Just VATS and kill Burke the moment he starts getting up. Nobody goes hostile, and Simms thanks you for saving him, even though Han shot first. --DarkJeff 06:26, 11 December 2008 (UTC)
I just saved Simms by standing in front of Burkes so he shot me instead. However Simms didn't do his special dialogue about being slow.--CraZy-gAEmeR 12:23, 26/08/2011

Third Floor Of House?

Inside his house only gets you to two floors, but from outside, you can see that he has half of an aircraft body on top of that with a door in the side and steps leading up to the top level of the aircraft body and a walkway that extends out from it where Simms could overlook Megaton.

When I turned Fawkes loose in Megaton, leading to an all-out battle, Simms was in that aircraft firing at Fawkes, so I helped out with the sniper rifle, so Simms can get up there, but I can't see any way from inside or outside to get there. Am I missing something?

--

If you can manage to jump onto the second floor roof, probably by modifying your characters jump height through the console(I think I saw that as an option somewhere), there's a doorway on the west side of the roof that leads up into the aircraft body. How Simms gets up there during his walks around town, I don't know. 199.17.68.25 04:41, 11 December 2008 (UTC)

There's a trap door to the attic of his house, if I'm not mistaken. I saw someone use it in a video showing how to glitch up to Stockholm. So look around on the second-floor ceiling. --Niksilp 07:12, 11 December 2008 (UTC)

Yeah, I found it under your suggestion. It's right above where the Jukebox goes in your Megaton house, right above the bottom of the stairs. 199.17.68.25 19:54, 13 December 2008 (UTC)

Disappearence?

He disappeared, anyone else having this problem?

Lucas Simms' ID is 00003b46, use this:

You'll be able to see where's he (you'll get teleported next to him) Goekhan 20:45, 4 November 2008 (UTC)

Megaton Settlers still think Simms is dead

Simms went and walked off of his path, ending up dead on top of the clinic. I revived him with the console, but the town thinks that he's dead now. I know it probably doesn't matter anymore, considering I disarmed the bomb and such, but does anybody know of a way to make the town think he's alive again? 199.17.68.25 04:19, 11 December 2008 (UTC)

-Seeing as you used the console to resurrect him, the town's AI is still reading that he's dead. Short of somehow resetting the town's AI somehow, I don't know how you can do that. I have the game for Xbox 360 though, so console commands in this game aren't my forte. Seal481 04:36, 3 January 2009 (UTC)

There's a variable that is coded into megatons residents dialogue that turns on when he dies. The only when to turn it off is to get it from the geck then set it to 0 via console. It's soemthing like sims_is_dead 207.164.136.6 14:17, 27 April 2009 (UTC)
I have no idea how to use the GECK properly, but I managed to add "set DialogueMegaton.LucasSimmsDead to 0" to "LucasSimmsScript" in the "OnActivate" section. All I have to do now is to talk to him after resurrecting him and that automatically fixes the problem. Maybe this helps some people out there. --80.139.39.226 18:31, 2 May 2009 (UTC)

cannot resurrect simms

another bug: if burkes kills simms and then disappears, and you never got the disarm bomb quest, resurrecting simms makes the game crash. this is especially bad because you cannot get a nice appartment anywhere now.

-How does one get Burke to kill Simms without starting the quest in the first place? -Genghis

i dont thing its possible..you have to talk to burke(which starts the quest) to get the fusion pulse charge and then tell simms that he told you to rig it to explode(giving simms the pulse charge..idk if u can loot it from his corpse)then simms goes to try to arrest him then as soon as he turns around burke shoots him 3 times.LuciusZelgius 23:37, 27 March 2009 (UTC)

if you don't actually accept the quest to disarm the bomb and then talk to burke, then go back to simms, you can get him to "arrest" burke and not have the quest to defuse. -Grizzalbee

Simms "tripped" down the stairs for me.

I didn't even see Burke do anything. Simms just "tripped" and died. No gunshots, nothing. He just "tripped."173.66.216.233 00:41, 13 April 2009 (UTC)

Regulator before Mayor of Megaton?

I've noticed he wears the same style of hat as the Regulators, as well as the same style Duster (though Regulator Duster has higher DR ((perhaps Simms' Duster is just in bad condition?)) and has no star on it. He's also, as we all know, a keen supporter of fair justice.

The official Fallout 3 guide confirms that Simms is indeed a member of the Regulators. Ausir 00:44, 26 May 2009 (UTC)

Thought so, thanks Vault101Wanderer 09:12, 29 May 2009 (UTC)

Rank?

How the hell does his hat show that he ranks highest in the organization next to Sonora? That should probably be edited out because its inane speculation.--CraZeDP3NgUiN 20:01, 17 July 2009 (UTC)

Deputy Steel

So I wouldn't get shot at for shooting the Deputy, I shot off his combat Inhibitor and I think He killed Moriarty and Lucas. I found Moriarty's body by the saloon, but I can't find Simms'.

Look out, Ninjas.

I hate to sound crude, But does anyone else think his quote "I'm gonna fuckin' end ya" Sound alot like "I'm gonna fuck a ninja"? I just noticed it...And thought it was quite funny. Tzaro the Outcast 18:12, January 17, 2010 (UTC)

Waht is this I don't even

I found lucas simms but i dont how to back him in megaton and the walter is missing i dont now how to back him to megaton ?

I think someone needs to "back him to" school.

Simms found!

I was in Lucas Simms' House, when all of a sudden he walks onto a green square on the top level and disappears, so I thought he'd just vanished from the game (cos it's happened before) and I found out about the plane he goes into above the house on this site, so I went back to the green square, looked up, and I was up there too, walked up the stairs and there's Simms standing on a viaduct! Just waiting to see if he falls and dies now!81.129.114.56 02:07, March 1, 2010 (UTC)

Fallout 2 Reference

I don't get why noone has added this yet, the dialog Simms uses when you first come to town wearing your vault suit is a mirror of what marcus will say if you talk to him [the first time?] wearing your vault suit. Go ahead see for yourself.Atlas Lied! 22:41, April 18, 2010 (UTC)

Found my proof in the latter's dialog file. "{103} {mcs1a} {Well, what the hell. I haven’t seen one of those outfits for a long, long time. Takes me back.}".I did i bad job of adding it if anyone can do better feel free.Atlas Lied! 23:07, April 18, 2010 (UTC)

Regulator outfit

Someone added this:

  • While wearing the Regulator outfit with the lawbringer perk Simms will say "Ah so you a regulator i used to be on too" It is belived he retired either to become Megaton's sheriff or to raise Harden, his son

I just went through and listened to every one of Lucas Simms's voice files. That doesn't show up anywhere. I know it was already removed, but the comment on the removal expressed uncertainty as to whether that might exist in the dialogue files; I'm simply confirming that the quote is completely fabricated. Death

Can we be absolutely certain that Burke killed Simms in 2277? I know what the Afterward says, but it does mention that Harden says this while he's drunk, which could suggest that it's not completely true. Moira herself seems to doubt the truth of this story. --The Crimson Eagle (talk) 02:32, August 15, 2014 (UTC)

Born

"Simms was born in 2236." It's true? I did not find evidence in the Prima OGG (GotY, p. 82). Only "He grew up in Megaton and understands better than anyone ..." --FunGorn (talk) 00:33, December 8, 2015 (UTC)

If the Lone Wanderer chooses to tell him about their plan of detonating the bomb, he will turn hostile along with every other Megaton settler. This is false, you cannot tell him that the bomb is rigged or that you intend to rig it. Mr. Burke even states that you cannot warn anyone.--Damx (talk) 17:46, January 29, 2020 (UTC)

Explain this line in his dialogue then to me "Actually, Sheriff, I plan on detonating that bomb." (line 39). Jspoel Speech Jspoel 17:59, January 29, 2020 (UTC)
You are right. But how do you trigger it? Do you need to avoid talking with him about them bomb until you have rigged it? I'll test this momentarily. It could also be cut content.--Damx (talk) 12:13, January 30, 2020 (UTC)
Ok, I got it. You have to ask him about his town and then choose the dialogue option about the bomb a second time and the option appears. Alternatively, you can avoid asking about the bomb when he introduces himself and speak to him about the bomb before rigging it. This way the option to talk about the bomb is easier to see since you don't have to go through other dialogue. This makes it more difficult to right the bomb though. My bad.--Damx (talk) 12:25, January 30, 2020 (UTC)
