Locations[]

There are *so* many locations where these machines can be found. Listing them all will take a while. Makes me wonder for what purpose? --Ayumix 02:20, 1 February 2009 (UTC)

Agreed. Not only are there waaay too many locations, they're no real advantage to the player knowing where they are and listing them would be a waste of space on the page.69.210.191.70 17:58, 1 February 2009 (UTC)

We should get someone who is really freaking bored to find and document them all. PlasmaFox 18:01, 1 February 2009 (UTC)

You just need someone with GECK. There are 153 vending machines in the game, the pristine ones in the Megaton/Tenpenny player houses and Sierra's shack not included. One less without Operation: Anchorage. // Porter21 U | T 18:53, 1 February 2009 (UTC)

I didn't know if I should put this under Nuka-Cola or the vending machines but when I first got my pristine vending machine, one of the Nuka-Colas I put in it wouldn't chill. I have tried taking it out and putting it back in and it still stays regular. Is this a weird glitch or are there some bottles that wont chill?

I thought there were only 152? Anyway, we do need the locations, because 152x0.1(10%)=15.2, which is half needed for The Nuka-Cola Challenge quest. But meh, whats the point of tracking down all 152 nuka-cola machines when they only have a 10% chance of rewarding you with what you want when you could just find the actual locations? Still, it would be cool to have the list, because then people could visit ones that they missed in areas they've already been to and stuff.Crimmastermind 07:21, 23 March 2009 (UTC)

I would find a comprehensive list of the machines on the map useful. Saving before entering an area with a machine is better than the autosave after -- if it doesn't go so well (or you want to stretch your game play) you can reload the pre-entry save and get a different outcome from the machine. A 10% chance (btw, is there a reference for that number or is it guesses?) means that in general it should take 5 reloads to have the machine pop up with a Quantum in it. 'course in an area with more than one machine, that gets exponentially harder to accomplish. I'm wondering if the game software has an artificial limit per map cell (I've been mucking around with Arlington Library Media (4 machines) and never gotten more than 2 Quantums. At any rate, a complete list would be helpful. Arisian 04:40, January 20, 2010 (UTC)

There should definitely be a complete list on the wiki (if not here, where else?). Unfortunately, I am playing on PS3 and there is no GECK. After my current playthrough I'll add some machines but I doubt I'll get them all. Forgetful 10:34, March 30, 2011 (UTC)

Phew, that was almost two years ago. Anyway, it's done now. I added many machines, filled in missing descriptions, reorganised some of the existing entries and reworded some descriptions. My apologies to anyone who considers my editing to be rude. To shed some light on why I changed things, here are my thoughts:
1) I preserved the order of the table as I found it, that is, map marker first, then map cell as it makes sense in most cases.
2) I tried to consistently leave blank the map cell entry for outdoor cells and put names for indoor cells. Often these names are the same as for the corresponding map marker. When a location has several indoor cells I tried to use short forms instead of writing out the full name, i.e. "Offices" instead of "Museum of History Offices". This may look strange in cases where one indoor cell shares its name with the map marker and the other has an extension as in "Our Lady of Hope Hospital" and "2nd Lvl". I'm not really content with this myself so please feel free to change the cell naming style.
3) Also there are indoor cells like certain metro stations, where travelling to two markers to visit machines near the entrances may be shorter than walking through the whole cell. In these cases I've chosen one of the nearby markers. These choices are, admittedly, quite arbitrary. But splitting such a metro up into several entries listed under different map markers would confuse everyone using this page to roll for quantums (and that's IMHO its main use, i.e. machines in the same cell must always be listed as one entry).
4) I also tried to give the descriptions a common style; some where describing locations, some where giving directions from certain entrances. I made them all describe locations without mentioning how to get there.
That's it. Putting down Fallout 3 for good now, on to New Vegas. Forgetful (talk) 17:11, January 2, 2013 (UTC)

Ice Cold Nuka-Cola[]

The article states that the amount of Rads gained from consuming the ice cold variety is half of that gained from the regular kind; directly contradicting the article concerning the former. SteveZombie 17:20, January 5, 2010 (UTC)

Fallout: New Vegas?[]

I'm absolutely sure I've seen some of these in FNV. If so, the relevant section should probably be added. - Totaldonut 18:24, December 2, 2010 (UTC)

I concur, these machines can be found all around New Vegas. Someone needs to go around and list them.

Uh, on an unrelated note, do these things respawn because I just want to be certain. GamerAddict7796 16:21, April 14, 2011 (UTC)

FO4 Vending machine bug[]

Noteworthy is that a few random vending machines would not allow me to remove one of the bottles. The very first one HAD to be a quantum cola, no less. Tried everything from shooting to grenades to NPC followers pickup-actions, nothing. Bottle stayed stuck. I guess very rarely the game CAN get confused and ends up glitching one bottle so hard it gets stuck inaccessible. Just wanted to throw that out there.MadmanEnrico (talk) 13:21, May 5, 2016 (UTC)
