I just skimmed the second video on the page but I didnt see anything about OWB on it, and even if it does have info does it belong on this page? Seems like alot of non fallout info for being on a site based on fallout. --[[User:Bottrot|Bottrot]] 23:17, June 4, 2011 (UTC)

Dead Money

o Old World as in the "flag of the old world upon his back" that's mentioned in dead money then-ie Ulysses? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 109.153.204.156 (talkcontribs). Please sign your posts with ~~~~!

I reckon they won't pull Ulysses out until DLC number 5, this one probably has something to do with the Big Empty or maybe doing an Operation Anchorage style VR simulator. Maybe a simulation in the resource wars or something whilst the world was crumbling. --Ciao Gamer 08:29, January 10, 2011 (UTC)
I would expect there to be only four DLC for FNV, each raising the level cap by 5 (level 50 total) in order to add incentive to buy and play the DLC. Given that this would likely be the last of the DLC, I hope that it is climactically exiting, like ending with a one-on-one, melee weapon to flag pole, fight with Ulysses on top of a small mesa as the winds and sand from "The Divide" howl in the background. --DurableTomb--
I was thinking 4 DLC to increase the level cap by five and a fifth, as of yet unannounced, one that has both Ulysses and the capability to play post endgame. Isn't there there 5 unused snow globe slots so there would be 5 DLC?--Ciao Gamer 08:31, January 10, 2011 (UTC)
Actually, while your snowglobe slot theory is just conjecture, it does supplement known information. For example, one DLC could feature 2 opposing factions/choices, either one of which the PC can side with/choose, with each path having a snowglobe as a reward. But a third peace/compromise option would manifest itself and should the player choose this, they are rewarded with both snowglobes. Of course, even if I am right by some stroke of blind luck, it will probably be more complex than I made it out to be. --TJbrena 20:22, January 24, 2011 (UTC)
I don't think so, because you can gain the Hoover Dam Snowglobe without siding with the NCR and the Test Site and The Strip Snowglobes without siding with Mr. House. I'm sure it's possible though. How to add 7 DLC with 5 snowglobe slots is a more interesting question to me. Serose8 19:20, February 19, 2011 (UTC)
The "Divide" might also be a mountain range e.g. The Continental Divide, not just a canyon. Even though the Grand Canyon is more likely due to the location. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.165.25.149 (talkcontribs). Please sign your posts with ~~~~!

It's sorts been confirmed that there are going to be four dlc's, but it isn't out of the question that there could be more. Also there is going to be a Ulysses in Lonesome Road who is not to be confused with the bat-shit crazy AI Odysseus. It has also been confirmed that each dlc will raise the level cap by five but Old World Blues will allow you to stop at at least 30.

I think the Big Empty is a reference to The Dark Tower III: The Wastelands. In the book, The Big Empty is in Missouri. So I think the Big empty is in Missouri. --awhiteguywithablackguy--

Protected

As the article is protected and only admins can edit it, I guess suggestions for additions to the page need to be made on the talk page. We can say quite a bit more about this page, as since Elijah talking about the Big Empty triggers the Things to Come! challenge, it looks like Old World Blues takes place in the Big Empty. In that same dialogue option which triggers the challenge, Elijah talks about all the things that he found at the Big Empty, including Holograms, explosive collars, Holorifles, Saturnite alloy, hibernation chambers, Securitrons and the suits worn by the Ghost People. --Flower of Pock-Lips 17:49, January 8, 2011 (UTC)

Why does this page exist?

If no announcement has been made about this DLC, how do we know it's real? Isn't it just speculation at this point? And doesn't one of the higher-ranked members of this wiki say that speculation doesn't belong on the wiki? Swk3000 15:43, January 11, 2011 (UTC)

Here. From Paximilian 08:05, January 12, 2011 (UTC) ~
That blog doesn't confirm this is related to Fallout. It could be something completely different, but everyone's just jumping the gun and saying it's for New Vegas with no proof or reason to think so other than New Vegas is new. --With care and happiness, Supermutantslayer450' YOU. LOSE. 00:50, January 17, 2011 (UTC)
Actually, if you didn't read the few lines on the actual article page, you would know that Obsidian bought the name and Copy Righted it for their publishing purposes. Why else would they buy rights to that name? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.228.7.240 (talkcontribs). Please sign your posts with ~~~~!

Capital Wasteland

Old World while this might mean thats its gonna be a dumb VR thing, but what if it unlocks the Capital Wasteland that would be awesome--24.19.155.150 06:34, January 18, 2011 (UTC)

Bethesda owns the rights to the Capital Wasteland,Obsidian owns the Mojave Wasteland, unless Bethesda allowed Obsidian to use the Fallout 3 map, with a few tweaks to bump it up to 2281. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.175.25.204 (talkcontribs). Please sign your posts with ~~~~!
Why would add the entire Capital Wasteland to one DLC? Thats very unlikely. As it has already been speculated, it is most likely going to take place in The Big Empty. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 10.7.10.206 (talkcontribs). Please sign your posts with ~~~~!
Mabye a new wasteland, maybe in China or something?--Blahmarrow 21:50, February 1, 2011 (UTC)
Thats true, because the Capital Wasteland was actually bigger than the Mojave, so its very unlikely. Even if they did, it wouldnt make any sense and the file size would be huge. Regarding China, though, it would be cool if you were on the Chinese lines during Operation: Anchorage! as a spy, or even a Chinese solider/citizen. But then again, all together, the idea of a VR is only slightly possible. 99.228.7.240 17:34, March 12, 2011 (UTC)
i know it's totally off topic, but i was playing gta4 the other day, walking under one of those bridges on nyc and though i would be fucking awesome to have fallout 4, or 5 or whatever name they came up to to be in nyc. i am not very familiar with fallout canon since i started playing the series on fallout 3(dont' judge me), but there would be no need for invisible wall limits. the island of manhattan could be the whole map. central park and the surroundigs could be the desert and lots of ruined building for something similar to 'downtown dc'. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 200.186.92.217 (talkcontribs). No one found graffiti texture files under this name yet?

I just wanted to ask, because I play New Vegas on the 360, so I can't check it myself. --"Why am I here and what the hell are you?"The guy who hates his username. 01:05, February 5, 2011 (UTC)

...Ahem, on a related note, there's an unused piece of graffitti in the Dead Money files which reads simply "Old World Blues". Stick it in the notes section of either page?

Maybe it's like Point Lookout (add-on) and it's never hinted at in game, although the Big Empty is mentioned quite a few times in Dead Money.

technology

old world blues is said to be in the big empty a supposed treasure trove of old world technology that obviasly means good weapons and armour and we can expect robots and such im just saying i would like to see some of the old fallout tech to return like the original Gatling lazer and some new tech definitely but one thing i really want to see is a bait bomb of some sort like you throw it then all the animals or mutants in the area run for it then releases a mininuke or rad bomb of some sort it is like mothership zeta in a way because nobody had a real idea of how powerful the tech would be —Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.126.58.122 (talkcontribs). Please sign your posts with ~~~~!

Regarding the Gatling Laser, I'm not one to use Engergy Weapons, and correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure its still in the game? The bait bomb idea is possible, but I doubt it would be a place like the Big Empty. The Rad Bomb idea- nukes? Your entire post is pretty unclear to be honest, and I'm not sure where you're trying to get at. 99.228.7.240 17:37, March 12, 2011 (UTC)

One thing that I have noticed in Dead Money and Honest Hearts is that there are 2-3 new guns, while the remaining 5-6 weapons are melee and unarmed. I'm sure I speak for a lot of people, but really, the designers need to work on pleasing those who are interested in other weapons by simply balancing it out. Now in OWB, I imagine that there will be energy weapons, though I'm not entirely sure. Well, if my character has guns skills and not energy weapons skills, this DLC would most likely be a waste of time and money, like Honest Hearts was. Vault 77 Dweller 22:56, May 23, 2011 (UTC)

Old World Blues Footage

It looks like a crashed satellite is projecting an image of ODYSSEUS onto a drive-in theater screen, and you'll fight some Mister Gutsy with a possibly new plasma weapon.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4PylXIbDKZ4

From what I can see the projected image is coming from a sattelite at what looks like the drive in theatre at nipton. This is most likely the quest start location then. I also saw some sort of energy melee weapon. Should be an interesting DLC. 86.143.74.194 08:53, May 7, 2011 (UTC)

There are what appear to be tribals of some sort in the footage. Could these be the Ciphers attempting to acquire the great tech within the Big Empty? Maybe they are mutated ex-scientists that were in the hibernation chambers that Elijah mentioned.

Nevermind they're just crazy people99.246.80.100 00:04, May 9, 2011 (UTC)

Qore Episode 36 Updated in HD version - credits goes to Archon (from www.fallout-3.com) who extracted and hex-edit many frames in order to make it work. This is the final version of his work. HawK-EyE 23:19, June 4, 2011 (UTC)

Nice, good job HawK, and Archon also of course ;). Itachou [~talk~] 23:34, June 4, 2011 (UTC)

Funny.

It would be hilarious if this was actually located within the Mojave, literally in the New Vegas map area, and you just opened up a pathway to get there. Theres lots of unused room and inaccessible areas so it could be. But that'd be a major rip off. 68.147.40.224 21:26, May 8, 2011 (UTC)

Sorry, wasn't logged in. Power Bonkers 21:28, May 8, 2011 (UTC)

Meh. The satellite that crash lands apparently and begins the questline appears to be found at a drive in cinema somewhere in the Mojave, but I guess the actual questline will take place in its own worldspace-despite some of the shots fromthe video appearing to be in locations similar to the vanilla game. I doubt they would be pulling a Broken steel on us.

Maybe it will take play in area 51? because they mention about technology and old world misery

Old World Misery sounds more like Detroit... --awhiteguywithablackguy--

Release Date

Since its said to be released the 14th of June by Gamergaia, should I change the page's release date to reflect this? Nashorn1127 23:34, May 31, 2011 (UTC)

No, I asked Matt "Gstaff" who deals with most of the DLC releases and such, and he said that release dates haven't been announced yet, and therefore you should not change the dates until it has been announced on Bethesda's Blog, which is where he said it would be seen first. --Geerardr 00:46, June 1, 2011 (UTC)
It also says it's free on Gamergaia...Jdw 20:08, June 1, 2011 (UTC)
Hahaha, nice Jdw --Geerardr 22:01, June 1, 2011 (UTC)

The "greater threat"

I think that the greater threat the courier is said to be able to join forces with his captors to defeat might be ODYSSEUS. Any other theories on who it might be?

That is exactly what i was thinking. Also, just an observation, the concept art for ODYSSEUS shows a Thinker Tank with a rod coming out of the top, so maybe he's like a robobrain and uses a brain as a data store.

It makes sense. ODYSSEUS can supposedly feel emotions and is schizophrenic, which seems to only come from human brains, not an actual computer AI.

Big Empty

Probably a coincidence, but should it be noted that Big Empty is also a song from Stone Temple Pilots? GUT 22:34, June 4, 2011 (UTC)GUT
