Possible Dexter Reference?[]

I might be seriously stupid for asking this, but could the character be a reference to Dexter? He appears to suggest he only kills raiders (and you don't really find any non-raiders dead in his house). Basically he's a serial killer that only kills killers, and raiders are basically all mass murderers. JuniBug (talk) 06:52, December 29, 2015 (UTC)

I don't think it sounds stupid. The elements are there, it seems like a reasonable conclusion. Though it seems to be more strongly tied to a H.P. Lovecraft short story, as mentioned on the Pickman Gallery page.PandaBot3000 (talk) 01:52, December 30, 2015 (UTC)
Glad to see I wasn't the only one! JuniBug (talk) 06:33, January 2, 2016 (UTC)

Will Having Pickman's Blade Have an Effect on Followers?[]

I found Pickman's note early in the game. My follower is Dogmeat (who hasn't a care in the world).

However, I'm wondering if simply having his blade in my inventory will reflect badly on other followers (lose approval points). It sounds to me like a good blade to have. Thanks in advance.

The companion system doesn't work that way. The weapons you use (or carry around) do not affect what they think of you. Only your actions, dialog choices, and natural gain from travel have a chance to affect follower's affinity rating. Miggy (hawk talk) 03:00, January 7, 2016 (UTC)
Great! Much appreciated. I didn't know this about companions. Thanks a lot. Helios One (talk) 03:04, January 7, 2016 (UTC)

Dead or Alive?[]

I have tried this twice, and both times he rushes to fight Slab, apparently unarmed (only has key and lab coat on when inspected afterward), and gets killed before I can save him. Is there any advantage to keeping Pickman alive? --Austineze (talk) 07:42, February 28, 2016 (UTC)
