Is it me or do Midwestern BOS armour look similar to Enclave armour in Fallout 3? my belief is that the Enclave robbed their suits and tech.Onikage01 15:15, 12 January 2009 (UTC)
more simple explanation is that bethesda wanted to return to the retro look that the original fallout had but did not want to abandone the midwestern armor. They reused the design most likely because they felt the enclave armor looked far more sinister. and the results were brilliant

the enclave may have encountered the midwestern brotherhood when they moved to the east coast and may have somehow obtained suits of midwestern power armour which they used to create the new advanced power armour mark II, just an idea

Given that New Vegas has put an Enclave outpost in Chicago, it could well be that the Enclave got some samples of Midwest BoS power Armor, and copied some of the design. since the Midwest BoS armor looks to be at least partly derived on the FO2 Enclave Advanced Power Armors, they might have offered a chance for the Enclave to recover some tech from their western brethren. on a somewhat grimmer note, Fallout 3 has dialog that suggests the Midwest BoS has vanished. the group that went to the capitol wasteland tried to contact them but couldn't. could the Midwest brotherhood have been wiped out by the Midwest Enclave?
