Companion vs Essential?[]

Does this guy have a companion flag on him? I've tried setting him as non-essential, and he won't die, no matter what I do. ~Axelskox User Axelskox talk 21:00, March 25, 2016 (UTC)

I found him in the Dartmouth Professional Building lobby in Back Bay. Not sure why he was so far away from where he's normally found. Possibly a glitch? He was friendly, but if shot would not die, only sit down like a companion, then become hostile after standing back up. --AleximMose (talk) 20:56, May 12, 2016 (UTC)

I recently found him popping up outside Diamond City (recently finished Tradecraft, haven't progressed Boston After Dark) and found I was able to blow his head off with no problems. So it's likely a glitch, or something happened in Tradecraft's order of operations to change his flagging to make him killable (I used the hard persuade check, told him "Don't do it" to default him to sniper fire, and then wiped out the synths but immediately went to the escape tunnel without triggering the "Objective Failed" in the donut shop basement), or that was done with a patch. He still counted as 'murdered' even though he survived the events. I still have no idea if he'll turn hostile if I destroy the Railroad, or if he'll simply keep respawning a la Louis Letrush in Skyrim if I kill him and leave him that way. Generic header sentence for character page.[]

Mara, why would you want to keep the standard header sentence that states that Ricky Dalton is a generic game character?. It appears redundant to note what game he appears in instead of his home setting, his specific occupation, and the year that he appears in when that info is already stated in the infobox.

If you still insist keeping it that way, I could compromise by linking his occupation to the Fallout 4 characters hub.

How does that sound? Bluerx833 05:03, May 25, 2017 (UTC)

Because the lead is supposed to link to the game's characters page and the media in which they appear. Background information is for the background section. Great Mara (talk) 05:06, May 25, 2017 (UTC)

That appears to be sensible, however there are a great number of character pages on this wiki that have leads that state their home, year and occupation. All of those details are mentioned on the Character Layout Guidelines for the article lead.

It also sounds to me that restoring a generic lead for game characters is trying to avoid spoilers, however according to NukaPedias's Content policy, this wiki is considered a whole spoiler. Bluerx833 05:19, May 25, 2017 (UTC)
