X-42[]

Does the pulse gun kill the giant robo scorpion in one one hit or how many hits does it take?--78.73.37.142 08:06, July 22, 2011 (UTC)

Definately not. Its extremely resistant no matter what you shoot at it with. At least on Very Hard, that is.. ~~Neosym~~ 23:35, August 10, 2011 (UTC)

Giant Robo-Scorpion.[]

Anyone else notice that in that picture on this page, the Giant Robo is located in what looks to be Higgs Village?Admiralmorris 13:14, July 22, 2011 (UTC)

It was showed there for the last trailer. If memory serves, it was when Mobius is talking about "bigger... more ATOMIC versions of these things". Maybe Higgs was intended to be Mobius' living place?

That's what I was thinking, they must have changed it later on.Admiralmorris 14:39, July 24, 2011 (UTC)

Bomber Roboscorpions?[]

Bs or not? I haven't seen any. Richie9999 22:48, July 22, 2011 (UTC)

I vote fake. --Xa3MysteriousStranger 22:50, July 22, 2011 (UTC)

I saw one of those while exiting X-8. I didn't let it the time to fire its weapon so I don't know how it attacks. --82.125.134.97 08:50, July 24, 2011 (UTC)

I still haven't seen any 'bomber'roboscorpions. If anyone can back up their existence let me know cause I'm thinking they're BS. Richie9999 01:12, July 29, 2011 (UTC)

Going through the editor, they do exist, but they only appear in one leveled list, which is only used once, in the X-8 facility's main area. As far as I can tell, that means that, at most, only one of these will ever spawn in the entire course of the game.

I don't see anything about them being able to become invisible though. Dwaz 23:14, July 30, 2011 (UTC)

I'm playing it right now and I found one while trying to escape from the x-8 facility. I think it just disappeared.Willbiteu 17:03, August 15, 2011 (UTC)

Same here in x-8, after I killed it, it had a Stealth Boy in its inventory, not sure if that's meant to be there, but it was there. --Felix BrehhUser talk:Felix Brehh 07:50, May 31, 2012 (UTC)

Got an ash pile with a stealth boy in the Antenna Array. Definitely one scorpion there though I dont know if it's bomber series.Laclongquan (talk) 15:49, March 20, 2013 (UTC)

Boss was easy for me...[]

I had max sneak and the stealth suit mk II as well as a stealth boy equipped when I fought the giant robo-scorpion. And I hid up the stairs to the left once you enter with annabelle equipped. I just kept launching HE missiles and I was never detected. 92.23.183.88 01:09, July 23, 2011 (UTC)

You were using one of the most devastating weapons in the entire game, the unique missile launcher, also neglecting to mention what difficulty you did this on. I don't understand, is this supposed to be informative? --an0my(talk) 16:41, October 6, 2011 (UTC)

Even faster if using the sonic emitter tarantula while sneaking behind it, I just one-shot it with a sneak critical and 2-3 seconds after it burst into flames and exploded. (activating the protectrons with the terminal to the right when entering helps to go unnoticed to the left side of the room) --82.125.134.97 08:50, July 24, 2011 (UTC)

I also killed it in 1 shot using the sonic emitter tarantula. I didn't even sneak around. I just squatted right in front of it where I entered the room, which showed me as "hidden" and then fired 1 shot. It burst into flame and then exploded. I don't know if it's a bug or not, but it was incredibly easy. This was on PC. --98.240.0.201 07:25, July 30, 2011 (UTC)

Post war or Pre war[]

While during OWB Dr Mobius mentions the Robo Scorpions to be based on the rad scorpions that eventually found their way into the Big MT, some indications are given on terminals that the Robo Scorpions were already around before the War, even the massive model that Mobius keeps within the forbidden zone. There are several terminal entries discussing the limitations of the big robo scorpion, and how securitrons were used as Chinese aggressors, giving the idea that the Robo scorpions would have been used against the Chinese eventually.

I am asking this as it could answer if we ever see them in other locations in the future. Of course that also depends on game designers, but I am mostly asking this because of canon issues. If the robo scorpions are indeed Post War robot designs than they would be out of place when used outside the Big MT.

I made a similar comment on Talk:Big_MT#Robo-Scorpions.3F. There actually is evidence for the scorpions being around before the war. First, one appears in Snow_globe_-_Big_MT. Snow globes were manufactured before the war. The massive model that Mobius keeps is not the only giant one either, there are ruins of one outside near the Securitron disassembly thing. Or at least I think that's what it's supposed to be, however there are terminal entries elsewhere that seem to indicate some sort of problem with an earlier model that had to be destroyed, so it would match. The same terminal entries also indicate that these scorpions were worked on before the war. On the other hand, Mobius is mad, so anything he says has to be taken with a grain of salt, and his account of how they were created could very well be exaggerated. --Damnfool 20:54, July 26, 2011 (UTC)

Someone lock the x-42 page because people keep putting false info into it

Pages that belong to a new DLC do not get locked. This is because new information is added all the time even by anons. As to your point about false information, I reverted your note about lethal hit because it is not lethal to a higher level character. This is also the second time that your addition has been reverted. Try not to make it a third. Thanks.--Kingclyde 01:56, July 30, 2011 (UTC)
The only person putting bad information on the page is you Quickdraw. Or should I say Anon 71.88.112.58? Either way, the page has been corrected for a reason, multiple times, due to that rather skewed paragraph by multiple editors. The DT doesn't need to be listed in the paragraph, that's what the stats table is for. And if the laser was always lethal it would be a 1-hit kill no matter what the player's level, health, or armor was. User:Great_MaraUser talk:Great_Mara 02:27, July 30, 2011 (UTC)

Emergency Shutdown Terminal[]

I'm curious if this terminal actually does shutdown the X-42 during the fight. I assume it does, but I only found it after destroying the X-42, at which point it only has a log about an emergency shutdown feature in the robot.--Darth Oblivion 16:18, August 9, 2011 (UTC)

Yes, the terminal shuts the giant robot scorpion down if you choose to use it.

Damage Resistence[]

Do the Robo-Scorpions have damage resistance of some kind? Even with the Pulse gun (Very Hard / Hardcore) and at level 30 or so they take a solid 7-8 shots before dying. They seem to take a few too many shots for me to believe that they don't have any damage resistance. Dragofireheart 04:04, August 13, 2011 (UTC)

I cringe when it takes 8~ .50mg Match bullets to take out an mk3b on very hard with the proper requirements met for the AMR at level 25 yet I can hit them a hundred times with the x-2 antennae and while it takes around the same amount of time to kill one I don't waste any precious ammo. The K9 gun should have been a "Gun" with a bonus against Robots, not a fully automatic ammo destroying piece of garbage with nothing special about it other than weighing 20 pounds. This is the same dea; as Dead Money. Guns users do it the hard way while it's a joke to people with high melee/unarmed skill. Feels like Obsidian is trying to dictate what and how many weapon skills I am proficient in. It really seems like they do have DR. .50 MG Armor Piercing doesn't do jack nor do .45-70 Hollow Points compared to normal ammunition. --an0my(talk) 16:28, October 6, 2011 (UTC)

They are covered in saturnite armor. They only soft spot is the eyes. on the standard roboscorp they are easily one shot. The giant one took 2 magazines from FIDO dumped into its eyeholes.

The legendary bloatfly is much stronger than the x-42,[]

Can we change where it says it's the most powerful entity in the game? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XYUDmAyILHk --71.55.138.194 21:47, August 19, 2011 (UTC)

We should crunch numbers based on stats, not videos. I have seen a lot of fails in videos resulting in incorrect outcomes. --Christian Broach (talk) 17:33, August 2, 2012 (UTC)

However, I do believe you are right. The Lengendary Bloatfly does 2.25 times more damage, but 1/1.75 (1 divided by 1.75) the health. Even if we assume equal fire rates, the Lengendary Bloatfly wins. And I believe the Legendary Bloatfly has a much higher fire rate. --Christian Broach (talk) 17:39, August 2, 2012 (UTC)

What to use?[]

So, venturing into OWB, I met them when I was getting the stealth suit. Of course I hadn't check the wiki before, but I am a lv40 max on all projectile weapons (not explosive), and has a low END score, What kind of weapons should I use because I only have a fully Modded and new CND sniper rifle with .308, and a fully modded new CND hunting shotgun with 12g DB's and M's. It took me awhile to kill 3, and I have a save before OWB's. (I play at normal and nothing else, yes it's hardcore, And I have every add-on besides Dead money and courier's stash)[K+B!] Z3R0R3104D 〜なのです [lit.
